My usual go-to sushi joint is Steak Stone & Sushi over on Transit, but I have to say Koi Sushi is pretty darn good. Their all you can eat lunch buffet is great. You get a paper menu, check off what you want, and then a waiter brings it to your table. Everything seems fresh and their tempura is nice and crisp. The snow crab salad here is amazing! I only have two minor complaints. Sometimes the wait staff hovers really close to the table. I don’t mind, but some of my lunch buddies felt uncomfortable talking about stuff with the waiter standing right over their shoulder. Other times the waiter was across the room. So it just kinda depends. And my second complaint would be they mess up takeout orders. The price here really can’t be beat. I think the all you can eat lunch buffet is like 12 something and you can find deals on Groupon. I’d highly recommend this place if you’ve got a large group. The atmosphere is casual and low key, and there is a lot of variety in the menu.

Amazing prices, variety, customer service. So glad this place exists in Buffalo. This is our fav go to! I wish it was around when I went to Williamsville north! We just moved from Philly and thought we would have to do without the quick cheap sushi runs, and then we discovered this place. I hope it stays in business for a while. I’m surprised reading all the negative reviews, this is the best value in the city.

If you go into this place with high expectations, you’re going to be disappointed. That said, for all you can eat sushi it’s not bad. I’ve obviously had better but what I usually get at my go to place costs $ 21 as it is. It’s nice to take a beginner to because they can try whatever they want. The rolls are pretty good. A little heavy on the rice but that’s to be expected for AYCE. The sashimi is also acceptable and decently sized. DONOTGETTHESUSHIPANCAKES. they’re disgusting. If you only like rolls go for lunch. The sashimi and things like that are added for dinner. I liked this place enough to go back every once and while.

It’s the only AYCE Japanese restaurant I know of in Buffalo. There are some good stuff and some less appetizing dishes. Don’t have your hope too high, their food is very mediocre. Just keep an open mind and try different stuff.

Koi Sushi offers all you can eat sushi for both lunch and dinner. The all you can eat menu also includes non-sushi options like katsu, teriyaki, tempura, and the usual appetizers, like gyoza, as well as a couple soups and salads. Their Miso soup has a good flavor. Service was decently paced. They kept bringing out a few things at a time then the sushi comes all at once. One of the servers didn’t seem to speak much English, but we managed fine despite that. All of the staff was very friendly and attentive. Personally, I think the quality of the food is average. It was tasty, but Taisho is slightly better. Koi is definitely good if you’re really hungry or if you want to try a bunch of different things.

So this place gets all three stars for value! The regular rolls are $ 2.50 for 6 pieces. That alone made me say ok why not. So it’s not the best tasting but I would put it on par with average grocery store sushi where you know it’s not gunna be amazing or anything but it gives you a bit of the taste. And like I said at $ 2.50 a roll it’s cheaper then most grocery store sushi. It’s Not where I’d choose to go for hanging out or on a date but def gunna be a go to for weeknight take out when I’m just too lazy to make anything. I got six rolls and it came to 16.10 after tax… So again boys and girls the word of the day is VALUE with this place.

Maybe I’d feel better about this restaurant if I went for the $ 13 all you can eat lunch buffet. But… I went for dinner… with a Groupon… and was still disappointed. Going for the Dinner All You Can Eat Sushi, I ordered a bunch of different items to ensure I got my monies worth — and I was starving — but something about this restaurant came up short of my expectations. The miso soup was decent. The avocado salad was disappointed… some ice berg lettuce with four slices of avocado was underwhelming. The crab salad was great. Edamame, can’t really go wrong there. The sushi was severely lacking. Something about the rice was off-putting to me. The actual fish seemed fresh but I couldn’t get past the taste of the rice. I ordered the spring rolls which were average and some fried tofu, again, very average. There are a lot of options which I can appreciate! Service was a-ok, I appreciated the young woman explained how the Groupon worked prior to us ordering. I don’t think I’ll be back to Koi Sushi as I am too familiar with other sushi restaurants in the Western New York area that meet and exceed my expectations with every visit.

Ok when I came here last month, it was my first all you can eat dinner experience here, and compared with the lunch all you can eat, I’ve gotta say it’s like literally the same thing, they just jack up the price. The food isn’t the problem, the food is pretty decent for the price. But we were here for like 2 hours because they kept taking forever with the orders and not only that, they brought our order to another table which they’ve done to me at least 2 other times I’ve been here. Not to mention, if you bring someone’s food to the wrong table, you should probably get their food out right away since it took forever, right? Not here. They took their sweet time bringing ours out after they screwed up and told us what happened. It was probably over a half hour later we finally got our order. Don’t get me wrong, they were busy, but they were just as busy during each time I’ve had lunch here. I was pretty disappointed with how long it took and then all the screw ups. I’ll probably be back for lunch, but not for dinner again.

Came to try the all you can eat buffet that many friends have been raving. It isn’t a serve yourself buffet, they have a paper menu that you can check off what you want, they make it and then bring it to you. You can then order more and they’ll bring the next order to you. Over all the food was very fresh and tasty. I enjoyed the seaweed sushi and the snow crab salad the most. The rolls were neatly assembled as well. The teriyaki vegetables seemed to just be frozen veges with some teriyaki sauce(quite unappetizing) but the vegetable tempura was quite delicious. As far as the service, they sat us by the door which wouldn’t be a problem except for the freezing breeze every time someone opened the door. It’s kind of weird to wear a winter jacket at dinner. The food was slow to come out between orders so I’d keep ordering if you won’t want a pause between your courses. This isn’t somewhere I’d crave to come back but I definitely wouldn’t object to coming back.

This is probably the best all you can eat sushi spots I’ve been in Buffalo. It’s affordable but I wouldn’t order any of the fried items. The katsu items are too crunchy in my opinion. I like the sushi and the quick service. I would recommend this place to a friend, but if you are a real sushi connoisseur than you wouldn’t like it.

So much food. They don’t have eel for lunch. Tempura was so fried. But overall delicious. Loved the spicy tuna roll and handrolls! All for less than $ 30 for two!

Unfortunately I am unable to post about their food because we never got that far. We purchased a groupon which said it was good for 4 all you can eat dinners. When we arrived the waitress told us we were confused and it was only good for a total of $ 40 off the total bill for 4. I asked to speak to the owner or manager and the waitress walked away and no one ever came back to speak with us. We walked out and went to another sushi restaurant. We will not be going back.

We drive 40 mins from Lackawanna to eat here. The value for all you can eat sushi is amazing. $ 23 and the quality is on par with most local sushi joints! Atmosphere is great and service is quite good too! You get a sheet of paper and a pencil and pretty much order whatever you want. Super fun and if you dont leave stuffed, thats your own damn fault.

Never before have I watched the server bringing more sushi with such trepidation. In their quest to pinch pennies, Koi Sushi has shaved their fish so thin and piled on the rice to create miraculously tasteless rolls which they then drizzle eel sauce over. Counting my blessings that we didn’t get ill from this meal! The snow crab salad was chopped crab and mayonnaise with a generous helping of panko crumbles. Very boring. The calamari was dry, heavily breaded and drizzled with(you guessed it) eel sauce. After two tries at ordering food with flavor we gave up. Not worth the $ 13.99– and that’s saying something!

«Affordable» and«quantity» are the words that come to my mind when I think of Koi. My boyfriend and I ate here almost every other weekend this past year. I’ll admit we’re gluttonous monsters at each visit, but I didn’t notice the poor quality of food upon any of my visits. I’ve definitely had a crunchy spicy tuna roll that I could constitute as… dry? The all-you– can eat 13 dollar lunch is a huge pull for me. I’m usually about quality over amount, but I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here– prompt service, good sushi, and a small yet cozy dining area. I love the sushi pizza! I’m not a sushi connoisseur. I’ve never felt underwhelmed after a visit – though I’ve never ordered their sashimi– so maybe that’s why I’m failing to understand the negative reviews. I’m good to go after a 2 hour– post koi sushi nap. Yes, it’s a thing. I highly suggest visiting for lunch on a day when you’re hungry and not choosy!

All you can eat for 13 bucks! That is unheard of anywhere! pretty great value and sushi is decent. A great place to go if you like sushi rolls and want to eat your moneys worth. Have not tried their sushi/sashimi, so not sure how good that would be

It was terrible. Yes you can order as much as you want. So if you just want to stuff yourself till you pop this is the place for you! But the amount of food you would have to consume to make it remotely worth it is just astronomical. I would much rather pay more and get less than eat here again. The salmon rolls were gross, slimy almost. The other cooked rolls were not cooked well enough. I felt sick after eating here and I feel sick thinking about what I have just eaten. Sure I knew going in that a sacrifice in quality would have to be made. This place has to profit. That the amount of the price point products such as meat would have to be cut. But everything was being cut across the board. Every thing from rice, veggies, wasabi, ginger… everything was on the same dismal plain of existence. Made for a lower quality overall. I would attempt to make sushi before returning here.

Koi offers endless Sushi, Salad, & Soups for an affordable lunch price of $ 12.99. The sushi is comparable, and in some cases better quality, to more of the well known sushi restaurants in the Buffalo area. This is a great establishment to bring all of your sushi-loving friends together for endless rounds of food. The service, for the most part, is good. There is typically one server that handles the restaurant(it is a smaller place, so that is okay when it’s quiet). However, I have been there when it’s been standing room only, and the wait is usually very long. It is a hassle to stand and wait for a spot to open because there is no waiting area when every table is occupied. You can’t help but feel bad for the server who has to handle everyone’s request, because as I stated earlier, everything you can eat is unlimited. The lunch special happens between 11:00 and 3:00 every day of the week, except Monday because they are closed. If you plan on going over the weekend, my suggestion is going between 11:30 and 12:30 to guarantee your party a spot. Overall — Affordable and fantastic quality. Would recommend to all sushi lovers!

Decent sushi for a good price! I have only ever gone for their all you can eat sushi lunch. I think it’s a good deal. Not my absolute favorite sushi from the area, but I like this place because their sushi is still good quality/flavorful without being overly expensive. All the people who work here seem to be very nice. One complaint I have is that it seems like they bring out dishes to random tables, because more than once I’ve been served things I never ordered. Other than straightening up that issue, I think they’re pretty good.

This restaurant does have some flaws(lesser quality sushi). However, keep in mind that this place is «All you can eat» quality. You pay for what you get. Any sushi establishment is going to go out of business if they provide high quality fish for all you can eat. The service was prompt when I went the last time. Do your best to go at a non-busy time because if the restaurant is packed, then good luck with the wait time. When they are slammed, it takes a long time to get the food. The appetizers are actually very delicious and so is the soup. I highly recommend this place if you want to binge on sushi and don’t want to break the bank.

Terrible. This place was awful. Went here on a recommendation of a friend that rolls are half off when you get takeout. There’s a reason for that! The sushi quality is terrible. Not fresh. They cut corners on everything — skimp on the rice, the fish on the sushi looks like it is purposely cut a bit smaller… In the end, this is truly just an AYCE place. For those of you who are sushi particulars, you know what I mean. the quality of the sushi is AYCE quality, so if you’re expecting anything good or gourmet, don’t come here. Final note, I ordered online and ordered 8 hand rolls. On the website when you pick a roll, there is a field where you can fill out hand roll or regular roll style. I ordered 8 hand rolls and didn’t get a SINGLE hand roll when I went to pick up. They *all* came as regular rolls. What’s the point of online ordering if you don’t read the order carefully? Won’t ever be coming here again that’s for sure with so many other options around!

Total bill is $ 25 for dinner. It’s worth every penny. Restaurant is small and unassuming. Service is friendly. Food is very good. Crunchy rolls were delicious. The star of the show is the sashimi. My only quibble is that the pieces are very tiny, but you can get as many as you’d like. Order sparingly, because you will be charged for pieces that you or your party do not eat. Other dishes which were two thumbs up include the beef negimaki and chiken yakitori. A reasonable price for very good food. Recommended.

Great sushi, moderate selection to choose from for all you can eat, but a good variety of items on the list. Enjoyed our lunch and was very satisfied with the service and meal for this price. Warning: there is no dessert, we received a green tea iced tea in place of a green tea ice-cream after some confusion.

Koi Sushi is my new go-to place for all you can eat sushi without crossing the border. At a price point of $ 13 for lunch and $ 23 for dinner — you can order as much sashimi, sushi and various appetizers as your heart desires. Oh, but drinks are extra. Even hot tea. Ouch. Despite that, the fish seems fresh and although service may be a little grouchy and you don’t always get exactly everything you order(i.e. I asked for 10 pieces of sashimi for my last round and I only got 7), everything was tasty enough that I couldn’t complain. The place has a very casual ambiance. Nothing fancy. You walk in, sit down and get a one-sheet menu where you pencil in your order. How many sashimi rolls of salmon would you like? 10? OK. Mackerel(this was probably my favorite)? White Tuna? I was a bit disappointed that ahi tuna wasn’t provided in the AYCE sashimi menu, although I think if you ordered tuna sushi you were provided a piece with a ton of white rice(which you were expected to eat!). Yeah, there’s a little sign on the menu that says if you waste food and don’t eat what you’re brought, you’ll be charged extra. I’m not exactly sure how that works if you order a roll that just doesn’t taste good, but I understand that when dealing with providing AYCE sushi you can’t have people ordering 30 cuts of fish and not eating them. Anyway, I thought Koi was pretty good for what they offered at their price point. If you’re a fan of sushi and find yourself frustrated that 50 cuts of sashimi run you $ 100 at other places, you owe it to yourself to give Koi a try.

I have been looking for a AYCE sushi place that isn’t across the border in Canada. I found this place on Unilocal and judging from the reviews. I said I would try it out. Sometimes the reviews might be low but to me, the place deserves higher stars then that. I was craving for sushi hard core one afternoon. I opened yup my Unilocal at and got the address. I input it into my GPS and it said I will be there in about 45mins. So i start to make the trek from Derby area all the way up north to Koi Sushi. I get there and I was the only one in there for lunch which was no problem because then my food would come out fast and service would be great. I got a few things but the most standout things was the Specials rolls. To get your monies worth, just order from the Special rolls part of the menu and stay away fro the Maki /Hand rolls. The Maki hand /rolls didn’t have any taste which was mostly rice. The Spicy salmon was good though. I would most definitely get those again in a heart beat. As another review said, lunch time AYCE is a steal at $ 12.99! The difference is that they don’t have Ahi during lunch and only available during diner. But for the price of lunch, just order all salmon, problem solved. Over all, decent place for the price for sure. I will be back for sure and order more off the specials rolls part of the menu and try other things also.

One of my favorite restaurants! All you can eat lunch for $ 12.99 not only includes sushi but various soups, appetizers, tempura, etc. All the food is really good too, extremely fresh. They also have half off takeout rolls!
