Does anyone know where this restaurant relocated to, or if they did relocate after leaving the food court at Boulevard Mall? The food was fantastic & someone told me they moved? Thanks!

It’s such a shame that this place will be closing soon, because this is one of those hidden gems of Buffalo! Every once in a while, tucked in amongst the endless chain restaurant offerings you’ll find in a mall food court, you’ll find a gem that isn’t a chain. this is one of those. I only found out about it due to a UYE event, and I’m really glad I got a chance to try it before it goes away for good. I had a chicken souvlaki wrap(because I’m a REBEL,) and the chicken was fresh and tasty, and the tzatziki sauce was out of this world, packed with a lot of dill, which was a surprise, but also delicious. Anyhoo, check this place out before it goes away forever, you only have about a week to do it!

I loves me some Greek/Palestinian food. As I am not a mall person, I was unaware of this gem at the Boulevard Mall food court. I eyed the shawarma & falafel, and went with my friend’s recommendation(he has a flawless palate) of the chicken souvlaki pita«with extra extra greek oil and extra white(tzaktiki) sauce». All that and a bag of chips set me back $ 6.50(tax included). Service was magnificent, the pita was triple wrapped(it had the potential to be a gooey mess) & it was hand prepared to order My only problem is this: This restaurant is closing at the end of the month(as is the entire food court), & I could eat at this place every day for the rest of my life.

I was here for a UYE organized by our own local Fox. He strongly recommended the chicken souvlaki on a pita from here since we were in the mall. So I followed his advice and ordered Foxs’ favorite Chicken Souvlaki in the Buffalo area. It was a busy day at the mall, close to Christmas and Santa was visiting. This storefront was a busy one, many regulars were picking up orders. The young woman working the counter knew many of the guests. She kept the process moving along very well. My sandwich was indeed very tasty. It came served in a styrofoam clamshell. I do wish the clamshell was something more environmentally friendly but the pita was very good. I understand why Fox enjoys it. I’m sad the food court at the mall is closing as I just now discovered it thanks to Fox.

Horrible news. At the end of December 2014, Pete’s Greek Isles will close its shutter forever. The Boulevard Mall Food Court will cease to exist and make way for Dicks. An enormous Dicks is going right in here, destroying my favourite Pita forever. Like I told Lindsay recently, there are already SOMANY Dicks, why do we really need more Dicks. All I seem to see in the suburbs these days are Dicks. Anyway, PLEASE come and try the Chicken Souvlaki stuffed in a Pita(NOTTHEWRAP) before the end of the month. It’s so delicious, one of the best I ever tasted. They are not moving anywhere, they are disappearing off the face of the WNY Planet. It’s so sad… one of my top 10 food places in the region. Ah well. So make sure you get down here and try it before it is too late, please. Thank you. Much appreciated. Now below is my previous review, back in the good old days when I did not know this place was disappearing forever. Tonight is our UYE here, so that at least some people will know the magic of this Pita before the P.I.T.A. known as Dicks eradicates the Pita forever. Previous review: While it may sound like a chap named Peter won the lottery and bought several secluded islets in the Aegean, this is actually a restaurant, and a bloody good one at that. At least it’s not called Pete’s Greek Eels, which would be really gross(and very East London), or Pete’s Greek Oils(although it should be, since the sandwich is so oily… in a good way!), or Pete’s Greek Ales, which would basically be a brewery, which would probably, sadly, make it more popular. Hiccup. There is no better Chicken Souvlaki sandwich in Buffalo than this one. Oh my word is it good. It’s cheap too. I’m not an advocate of Mall food but this isn’t really Mall food — it’s amazing Greek food that just happens to be in a Mall. Buffalo has some of the best Greek food on earth and this is the best of a very good bunch in terms of sandwiches. Of course, I don’t recommend the Gyros, because they’re fake Gyros, but most places in this region serve fake Gyros unfortunately. I wish people would give this place a chance. Nobody dislikes Malls more than I do, but this really is the best and most delicious and wettest and most authentic(on a Buffalo Chicken Souvlaki level) CS Pita in the area… it’s soooooooo goooooooooooood. I can’t tell you how good the other stuff is because that is the only thing I get, and with good reason. Yes the wraps will leak and yes it’s messy but it’s supposed to be like that. And the Indian girl that works here is a total goddess so I’d get Greek Oil all over myself for her anytime. Okay wait, that came out wrong. That’s what he said. And what Ricky Martin and George Michael did. The sad part of this story is that Pete’s used to be a quaint and adorable little restaurant on Transit near Main. It closed down due to lack of business while all the chain stores flourished around it and the Eastern Hills Mall. But over here in Amherst, due to its location inside the Boulevard Mall, this Pete’s is flourishing, and the taste is incredible. I usually order it with«extra Greek dressing» inside, although be warned, that makes it very very wet, dripping with oil and a little vinegary for some tastes. The chicken is delicious and there’s often tons of it in there. The salad is excellent. The oil and sauce are orgasmic. And the pita bread is perfect — and large. This is a 10 out of 10 sandwich all the way and Pete’s is a must-visit for anyone in the area! The secret to their great-tasting Souvlaki? Pete’s Greek Oils. If you want alcohol, he also serves Pete’s Greek Ales. For birdwatchers(lots of these types in the Mall), you can get up close with Pete’s Greek Owls. And… If you like it so much that you choose to get married here, you can walk down Pete’s Greek Aisle.

The food was really good! Definitely worth the money. Service was great and as an added bonus the girl working the register was gorgeous! Yes ill be going back!

The food here is surprisingly good for mall food court standards but the service blows. My wrap was leaking(not properly wrapped) and I asked for another layer which apparently was frowned upon. They just wrapped it the same way as the first layer which did not help at all. But aside from all that, it’s probably the tastiest shawarma I’ve had which mostly relied on some crack sauce they have.

I forgot that I once(at least 3 years ago) got takeout from this place, until I read Melissa T.‘s recent review. I agree with her — I ordered stuffed grape leaves and one or two other things(hummus, tabouli?) and all were surprisingly good. The counter staff, probably the owner, was super nice. I recall, at the time, they had a location at McKinley Mall, too. A bright spot in a deep-fried mall food court. Thanks, Melissa T.

Let me start this way: I work at the mall. There is little in that hermetically sealed parody of a marketplace that brings me joy, but Pete’s is the closest thing to satisfaction I have experienced while on the job. The food in the mall is generally overpriced, unhealthy or bland, often all three. But Pete’s provides a good selection of Greek and American fast food, made fresh and almost all options are under $ 8, usually including chips/fries or a greek side salad and a drink. They even serve breakfast foods in the morning! For $ 5 I get a nice-sized falafel sandwich on a real pita(not that weird shriveled stale stuff they have at diners) with chips and a pickle. The owner and the staff are very friendly, and mall employees even get a 10% discount. Hey, every dime counts when you work just above minimum wage. Eating at Pete’s is one of the few things at the mall that does not cause me to despair for the future of our society, so take that as a glowing review from a disillusioned retail slave.
