Amazing food with really wonderful service! The folks in there are incredibly sweet and sometimes give out piping hot, fresh falafel while you’re waiting in line. Would definitely recommend!

Food is delicious and fresh, every time. Their Kafta wraps are my favorite but my friends obsess over the falafel and it is some of the best I’ve had. The portions sizes are great for the price and very filling. And the owners are so kind, welcoming, and generous, I’ve had so many great experiences here. If you want to support a quality business, this is a perfect place.

Delicious! While we waited in line to order, they gave us falafels to try. Portions are big and satisfying and prices are great. The only down: only cash accepted.

I ordered take out for a group of nine people and everything was beyond amazing. The food looked and smelled amazing, and everyone LOVED what they had. The inside is very clean, and the owners were so friendly and welcoming. This should be a must for anyone who loves a fulfilling, fresh lunch(and vegetarians). Last but not least, their deserts are absolutely to die for. If you’re not an overindulgent, American-style sweet eater like myself, you will love their baklava selection. Light and airy but with a nutty smooth filling and steeped in honey. It’s the perfect ending to this perfect meal. Tip: They are cash only.

This place is terrific! I go almost every week to get a falafel pocket. The falafel is made-to-order and really delicious. The pockets are full of fresh toppings and you can get fries inside your pocket! The owners are very friendly. One of my favorite restaurants in the area.

My son introduced us to this middle eastern place and we love it. Again, there are so many good places to eat in Amherst but we try to make it here often enough. I don’t think I have had a bad meal here. I have tried the falafel and chicken, even the fries are good. My middle son is very picky and has a sensory diet so he gets the falafel and pita bread and nothing else — no veggies, sauce, nothing extra. The falafel must be good if you can eat it «dry» and it still tastes good. They don’t understand him but they do get a kick out of him. The family who owns this place are the loveliest people you could ever meet. I really coming to this«fast food» joint.

Went here with my roommate & mum last night. We had the Turbo Pocket Wrap, and two dinner plates: Chicken kabob & Kafta plates. Everything was mad delicious. The seasonings in all foods were balanced and PERFECT. 10⁄10 in my book!

Delicious! The turbo pocket is great for those of us that can’t decide between the chicken, gyro, and falafel, because it has all three! The food is very fresh, and the owners are exceptionally friendly. Definitely recommend.

Incredible spot. I’ll just cut to the chase. Here’s what I look for in a quick, inexpensive restaurant: Food: 5+/5 — Honestly, some of the best falafel I’ve ever had. Made fresh to order(the fryer is directly behind the cash register), so it’s hot when you take your first, second, and tenth bite. Much like a burrito place, you order your«base» first(ex: Chicken Kabob Pocket), then add toppings later. The veggies are fresh, the options are diverse, and because I cannot eat dairy there is an excellent«secret sauce»(sesame/tahini) that serves as an alternative to traditional tzatziki. It is delicious. Price: 4.5÷5 — $ 6 for Falafel Pocket, $ 7 for Chicken Kabob Pocket. Both options are incredibly filling, and definitely worth the price. I need a lot of food when I eat, and this delivers. I deduct half a star because it is cash/check only, although I realize every penny counts for a small establishment.(#^&% AMEX anyway) Atmosphere: 5⁄5 — I expect a place like this to feel intimate and personal, and it absolutely does. The man who presumably owns the joint is very affable, and quick to make recommendations. If you’re unfamiliar with this type of food, just walk in, tell them what you like, and they’ll make a recommendation you will be 100% satisfied with. They have wi-fi, and apparently they’re open kind of late until 10pm. TL;DR — Incredible food, cheap, great staff — Cash/check only, wi-fi, open til 10pm — Vegan & vegetarian options

This was an awesome surprise. We were stopping in Amherst for lunch on a drive from north of Boston to the Cooperstown area. We thought about getting pizza but everyone liked the idea of Middle Eastern. After getting lost walking up and down Pleasant Street for about 15 minutes, we finally find Pita Pockets tucked off the main road about 100 feet. There were about 4 – 6 people eating and one person ordering in front of us so we had ample time to check the menu out and decide. The person helping us, either the owner or his son, was so friendly and couldn’t have been nicer. He gave each of us(5) falafels with hummus to try that were out of this world. Our youngest son had chicken fingers :) while the rest of us had chicken kabobs. Each of them were prepared with different ingredients or spiciness, but were all super delicious. The chicken was super tender and all the accompaniments created a super tasty combination. I said to my wife that I worried that there were too many, but after tasting the pita, they all just added to the delicious flavor. We wanted a few pieces of syrian bread to go and the owner treated us. I can’t recommend this place enough. If I went to school here, I’d be here at least once a week, if not more. My 13 year old daughter said that if she goes to Amherst, she’ll be here every Friday for Falafel Friday’s. The food is wonderful and the owners were so warm, friendly and generous.

Amazing customer service. They are the best kind of people who work here. Best gyro I have had. I love this place. Take my money.

I used to think falafel was bitter until this place. The secret is new, clean, vegetable oil which sounds boring, but is critical to what sets this place apart. Everything is fresh, clean, and delicious. The owner will do everything to make your meal perfect. I sincerely believe that a complaint would bring tears to his eyes and next April Fools’ I intend to test my theory. It’s a family operation and they clearly care deeply about creating fabulous food.

Pita pocket is no doubt the second best gyro place in Amherst after New York Halal cart. I have tried the both gyro and chicken wraps and I can tell you right now that if you are really hungry and want a quick fulfilling meal at a reasonable price this place is the best, plus they have seating arrangements for the customers so you can come with friends and family. The put hummus, sour cream, and a lot of salad in your wrap with a special sauce on top which makes it both flavorful and fulfilling. So do try it if you are ever in Amherst.

This place is really great not only for food but the alacrity too. The person serving in noontime is very cheerful and prepares the falafel /pocket /gyro n all asking customers their preference and recommend those who seek advice at the same time. Great place to munch!!!

Really great customer service! Tried the gyro and falafel combo with fries and it was delicious and fresh. The owner accidentally forgot the fries on the first try, but he immediately made us another one and let us have the previous one for free. In addition, the owner gave us free dessert. Really nice owner and great food!!!

Awesome we went there twice and we were in Amherst for less than 24 hours! The falafels were crispy and gyro was yummy with great veggies. It would’ve been 5 stars except they didn’t heat the flatbread with was disappointing.

I decided to try this place because of the awesome Unilocal reviews(5 stars with 50 reviews!) and because I love falafel, gyro, and other Mediterranean flavors. I am happy to report that this place did not disappoint! I ordered a Turbo Pocket(falafel, chicken, gyro) with everything in it. It was an enormous wrap; easily two servings. There were a lot of fresh veggies to choose from and the meat was put on the grill when I ordered it(to heat it up). My favorite veggie filling is the pickled turnips — they’re so good and offer a nice crunch! The owner who made my wrap was very friendly and very nice. The only con about this place is that it’s cash only, but I’m not going to dock any rating for that — the food is just AMAZING. Just make sure you hit the ATM before coming!

Truly delicious and remarkably inexpensive. The food is genuine and the owners caring. The students have discovered this place, so it can get busy and there may be a wait but, have patience, it will be rewarded. The wraps are sufficiently filling for all but the most hungry of diners(or football players in training), and the plates are both take out and eat in with a very tasty blend or rice and lentils with herbs(jedra). My wife had the chicken kabob plate and I the gyro. Both were delicious and some went home with us,.(My athlete days are a bit past.), as did some of the very best baklava I have had anywhere … and that includes Turkey and Greece
