Eh… Moving is really hard, especially when you love your stylist and you know you’re going to have to find a new one, because a 15 hour car ride every eight weeks just isn’t possible or sane. But I knew I’d be moving to Buffalo, I knew that it has a large enough population to have a variety of salons with extensive services and I figured it shouldn’t be too hard. The good: Very clean, well-taken care of salon, and lots of natural light, pleasant music Off-street parking Decent/Reasonable pricing(of course, you often get what you pay for…) I went to Salon Le Beau twice — once in December and again in March of 2013, I wasn’t happy the first time with cut/color, but I figured it was just part of moving pains & adjusting to a new stylist, so I tried it again seven weeks later, and was even more disappointed. Making an appointment is a bit of an act of diplomacy, it always seems that they want to rush you off the phone as soon as possible. I know that running a salon can be a challenge, trying to balance the phones while clients are waiting for services, but why would you be rude to a new client, a new source of income? Their staff, with the exception of the owner, isn’t really interested in what they’re doing. Pretty distracted and not well trained. For example, I gave the stylist my hair color formula(Redken — the same stuff they use at their salon) and instructions. I knew there might be a problem when my stylist said«wow, I’ve never seen anything like this before!»(I should’ve listened to the my inner voice that said«run away! far away!). Yeah, my hair color came out two shades darker than it really should be. I still can’t understand how that happened, since I had given her the formula. Both of the cuts were very unimpressive as well — not horrible, but along the lines of «Why am I coming to a salon for this?». On the second visit, despite giving a photo of the new style I wanted, I somehow ended up walking out looking the same as I walked in, but I guess I had less split ends… The time I did spend in there though, I noticed most of the other clients who were happy with their styles had pretty cookie-cutter hair styles and colors. Maybe it’s great if you’re just looking for a basic trim/cut/color or simple highlighting, but anything beyond the average, or a wedding… go someplace else. Won’t be going back, despite the fact they’re one of the few Redken salons in the area.

Salon Le Beau features great service at affordable prices. You can get a cut, color and hilight for half the price of many other local salons and the stylists work with you the entire time(unlike other salons where an assistant may do a majority of the work). I’m excited to check out the brand new salon next week when I go in for my appointment!

Recently received a manicure as a gift from a friend. These ladies suffered a fire at their original location and are making do in rented space. They have done a fantastic job. They took an otherwise unremarkable second floor space and turned it into something usable until they are able to relocate. It is tight, but the salon was extremely well-kept, tidy, and put away, so it was not an issue. The girl who did my nails was good. In addition to being a nice, pleasant person, she did a nice job on my cuticles, spent time reviewing my Pinterest page with me to see pictures of nails that I liked, and I ended up with beautiful fingernails. It seemed as though the people who come here have regular appointments. Clients in the waiting area were greeted by first name and they obviously enjoy consistent follow-up business due to their good work. I enjoyed my experience and look forward to visiting again when they relocate to their new facility.

My mom, sister and I have been going here ever since Tahirih opened the salon about 10 years ago, and we all love it. Very professional, nice girls, and they are always adding new services, such as mani/pedi, waxing, etc.
