This is based on Deli Delish. Pre sliced, fatty, grey colored, roast beef. The description on the UMass website states, «the freshest, most sustainable ingredients, and house roasted turkey and roast beef.» I actually returned the sandwich, opting for a safer option, a BLT. When I showed them how disgusting the beef was, the person said, «That’s how we do our roast beef.“When I bit into the BLT, they had put yellow American cheese on it… hahaha. Never heard of cheese on a BLT. About a half hour later, I honestly felt sick. Had diarrhea the rest of the day. Coincidence? Maybe.

THISPLACEISTERIBBLE. «The Grill» is comprised of complete idiots. They constantly forget orders and just stand around cracking jokes while a massive line of pissed off, hungry, paying students wait and watch them act like 6 year olds. It’s pathetic, this place is a joke. I speak only for the grill section, but don’t doubt the rest of the place is WEAK!

Cost 19 million for renovation. Looks like gilded poo. Same food, worse atmosphere. Not worth

I’m amused that there are reviews for this place. My first year here I had wished I’d had(whoa) more YCMP swipes so I could eat at the Blue Wall because the food seemed better and I liked that it wasn’t buffet style. Then I got a YCMP plan and I continued to eat at the dining halls, partly because I realized there aren’t that many options here and I don’t want noodles all the time and really there’s nothing else to get, unless you want an overly salty«banh mi» for like $ 7, hahaha, or a really greasy(but delicious) French Meadow sandwich, etc. The two places they opened outside the Blue Wall(sushi + gelato/coffee) are good but the sushi is kind of annoyingly priced relative to the YCMP swipe value and the gelato is good but not wonderful(i.e. I had chocolate coconut rum, which should have been like explosions in my mouth judging by the combo, i.e. my coconut/rum biases, but it was not quite there). Also the dining area is nothing special. I’ll still give it three stars though; it’s all right.

A place to stop by for lunch or in between classes when your hungry. They have subs, wraps, pizza, taco salad and phở station but its pretty much the same as dining food. I would go to the dining hall but its a bit farther out of my reach so then I would just settle at the blue wall. Pretty nice place to hang out with your friends as they have lots of tables to sit at. It also has 2 little stations for smoothies and coffee.

Ah the Blue Wall! I stopped in for lunch last week before a Saturday afternoon basketball bame at the Mullins Center. Food was inexpensive and great! I ordered up a taco salad bowl. Everything tasted fantastic! The shell was big and delicious. Plenty of greens and veggies to fill, and the chicken was tasty and plentiful. Many options for a varied menu including pizza, wraps, thai and phở, along with the mexican food options… Great to be back on campus for a vist to the alma mater!

Blue Wall, you’ve changed… again. What used to be a dance club(where you could drink) back in the day, morphed into a coffee bar(where you could smoke) but is now just another cafeteria among the places within UMASS Amherst. Check out that cool sign above the entry way. Looks like that raised tuition is going SOMEwhere!!! It’s still big inside, and expanded: They broke through a wall on the right and made what looks like a cafeteria-style food place in there. I saw students swiping cards, so I think the food there can be part of the meal plan program. In the main area of the Blue Wall, there’s 2 other places to get food/drinks. They still sell coffee here, but only one kind as opposed to the 30 or so you could get when I went here back in the day. The one coffee they do sell is some organic fair trade crap, and it was… OK. Most people here, like everywhere else on campus are either staring at a screen or smell like pot, or sometimes BOTH! Hooray?!

I honestly think I spent about 90% of my meal plan swipes at the Blue Wall over the course of four years at UMass. None of the food is out of this world, but none of it is anything less than pretty decently good for the price. The best part about The Blue Wall is you can get everything here! Pizza, paninis, grinders, burritos, taco salads, smoothies, ice cream, coffee, donuts, salads, your standard assortment of junk food, yogurt, fresh fruit… you want it, The Blue Wall’s got it. Let me stop and talk about the taco salads for just a second. When I say that they are probably one of my favorite things about UMass, I don’t think that is an exaggeration. The taco salad shells alone are humungous and delicious, and are filled with either beef or chicken(or neither), black beans, corn, lettuce, tomato, olives, jalapenos, salsa, and sour cream. Scrumptious. The only thing missing is some guacamole. Even with the decent amount of seating, it is always difficult to find somewhere to sit if you come here to eat anytime from late morning to mid to late afternoon. It is always noisy and crowded, so it’s not really an ideal studying spot unless you’re listening to your iPod. It’s a great place to relax between classes and watch the news on one of the flat screen TVs mounted on the walls. It’s also a great spot for coffee on a cold winter morning, even though it’s a little pricey(think Starbucks). It is unquestionable that The Blue Wall is loved by everyone in the UMass community. Alums come here frequently with their families. I’ve even met with professors here. I haven’t been back since I graduated last year, but I will have to make a point to do so soon!

Every student who has gone or goes to UMass has been in the blue wall. That is a fact. But then again, 95% of the world has been to a DMV, so lets just agree that traffic somewhere does not dictate quality. I’ll lay to out plainly, the Blue Wall is fucking terrible. Students without meal plans have been priced out completely for food that wasn’t that good in the first place. It now costs $ 6.75 for a burrito. SIXSEVENTYFIVE! While I’m no fan of Bueno you can take a bus to Amherst Center and get a burrito that will be bigger, cheaper and not made an underpaid student thats loathes you. Same with the pizza(except I can completely get behind Antonio’s). Its not worth it. Slight credit for being a cool place to hang out. The workers don’t give you shit if you want to refill a waterbottle on the soda fountain(with water of course). Plus, Pure Vida(the coffee stand) and Freshens(the ice cream place) aren’t bad. Feel free to hang out BUTDONTBUYANYTHING

Ah, the Blue Wall. I’ve studied here, eaten here, hung out here, even attended a professor’s office hours here. Is the food the best you’ll find on Unilocal? No. Is the food still delicious? Yes. One of the perks of the Blue Wall is that it is(as has been mentioned) almost always open. They also have a wide variety of foods, most of which I have sampled. I find the bakery/coffee shop and ice cream shop a bit overpriced but still worth a go every once in awhile if you’re in the mood for something sweet. Their sandwiches are passable, although I prefer Subway(I know, I’m in love with chain restaurants. Sue me.) Where the real deliciousness lies is in the pizza and the burritos/taco salads. The pizza slices are large, hot, and of several varieties. No, it’s no Antonio’s but it’s better than a lot of the pizza delivery places in Amherst(Bruno’s, I’m lookin’ at YOU). As for the burritos and taco salads, they are huge, made-to-order, and fairly reasonably priced. I’m not sure it’s an appropriate suggestion to give here, but I would also advise you to visit the sushi vendor that sits in the area near(what I think is called) «Let’s Break Rice Together» or something like that. It’s NEAR the Blue Wall, so that’s why I include it here. Delicious made-to-order sushi and the sushi chef is beyond nice and talented. His«bar» includes avocado, crab, shrimp, cucumber, spicy mayo, wasabi, ginger, soy sauce, and another sushi staple I think I am forgetting. Great sushi, right on campus, for a reasonable price. What could be better?

1977 saw The Cars on a 25 cent draft night, no cover charge. It’s why the place is an INSTITUTION.

How has not a single UMass alum or current student reviewed the Blue Wall yet?! Oh, God, how much will I miss the Blue Wall if/when I leave UMass/Amherst? Anyone who has ever attended UMass knows that it’s an institution. It is. Don’t deny it. It’s a great place to grab lunch, coffee, breakfast, dinner, or a snack; or to meet up with people and just hang out. They have a wide variety of foods, which has only increased over the past several years. My favorite thing to eat there is the chicken phở noodle soup, with chicken broth, and loads of veggies. Don’t get the veggie broth; it kind of tastes funky. The sandwich bar is really good, too, and it’s a healthier addition to the Blue Wall’s repertoire. The Blue Wall offers sushi and salads, as well as an assortment of fruit and juices. Let’s face it, though; if health is what you’re looking for, go to Earthfoods or something. No, the food really isn’t great. But, it has competitive prices; and, let’s face it, how nice is it that the Blue Wall has started to take credit cards?! I love the hours; it’s always open; and I love the accessibility. Unlike certain other eating places on campus(the Hatch!) some of us starving grad students believe it or not are on campus after 2, and on weekends. Thank you, Blue Wall, for always being open.

I’m glad they are almost always open. That’s about it. There’s a few passable items here, but I’d prefer to eat in an airport any day. Beverages are all Coke products, i.e. limited selection of sugary crap. It’s an institution, that’s about it.
