We thought we bought 2 TV’s from Kelvin at Merlin’s and asked about financing he said they do it through Tempo (was OK with us Odell uses Wells Fargo etc.)Today after making almost 5 payments of $ 125 5×125=625 for 2 Tv’s priced at $ 670 together we figured they want us to buy it out for $ 374…Mega ridiculous almost 50% APR rate !!! Talked both to Tempo and Kevlin today noone wants to do anything to resolve the case. Contemplating small claims Kelvin insisted it was a lease we agreed upon before papers were signed. Guess they use this «small letters matter» trick. Who in their right mind rents TVs? We sincerely thought TVs were being financed like everything else 625+374=$ 999.Thousand bucks for 32 and 40 inch TV! For that price I could have bought much bigger TV’s after Thanksgiving ! Should have bought from Fred Meyer or Best buy ‚ — they treat you with respect and never use this scam mechanism. I would not mind paying a bit more, but have it extended in time like we do with Les Schwab and other respectable businesses, but not Merlin’s apparently. Needless to say avoid at all costs, better drive to Idaho Falls and purchase your electronics at Best buy.

First time we went there the manager Steve was so friendly and helpful. He invited us to get complimentary massages in their massage chairs and was a wealth of knowledge. He also helped us pick out a tv for a Christmas present. From this excellent experience we were excited to return with family members who were interested in buying a tv and couch. However the next visit a week later there was another sales man there who was so rude, unhelpful and treated us poorly! He acted like we were bums off the street… he even got very upset with us for touching the massage chair and electronics. We were tempted to return our tv after this experience. Customer service makes or breaks a companies business and that one guy broke our relationship with this business!

I am big fan of Merlins. I have purchased many A/​V items for my home. The reason I always go back is simply the customer service. I have shopped online and around town and the sales people at Merlins are always knowledgeable. They always will match the price I bring in if they are not at the lowest price already. I would with out a doubt buy my next TV, surround sound, or anything regarding home audio and video stuff.

Merlin’s was the fourth stop in our TV shopping weekend. We visited having spent a couple days looking online, and had a good idea what we wanted and what price we were willing to pay. We were in Merlin’s for maybe 5 minutes. Once the salesman realized he couldn’t sell a tv with the specs we wanted (37−42″, 60hz, full hd, lcd) for the price we wanted ($ 500 – 600), he proceeded to try to convince us we didn’t need a full hd, and should be willing to pay more. We left and purchased a 42″ lg from amazon for under $ 500.
