I will never question Unilocal again. I was warned about the following: 1. Friendly Staff –check 2. Expensive(for this type of «restaurant») –check 3. Bland food — check 4. Hair in food — check I will not return. Did find a much better, but slightly more expensive, Mediterranean food restaurant a few miles away called Medii Kitchen. Go there.

Best Persian Food in Orange County ! The staff(especially Neda) are very friendly and nice ! The quality of the food is superb ! The chicken kabob is juicy and tender and the beef filet is extraordinary ! Recommend this place to everyone who loves persian food or want to try a delicious and healthy food(u can get salad instead of rice) !

This is my favorite restaurant in OC. Their hummus is some of the best I’ve had in the country(and I sample it wherever I go). It is served with warm, fresh pita. Their lamb chops are out of this world and what I get every time, served with rice and grilled veggies. I truly implore you to try Skewers. It is FANTASTIC!

Great service but food is ok. Will make you stink of garlic! More expensive than other similar restaurants.

Yuck! I stopped in here recently to grab some lunch to take home. The 2 young girls working were nice and friendly. I ordered the Chicken Koobideh lunch special for $ 5.85. When I got home and opened it up there was a black hair in my food! Gross. I noticed the girls were touching their hair a lot while they were waiting for the owner to cook my chicken. I think there were actually talking about their ‘split ends’ while they were standing there because they kept looking at the ends of their braided hair. The place just grossed me out. I tried to eat the other side of the food… but the chicken was gross. It looked like a large sausage or intestine. It was not appetizing at all… not the look, the taste or the color of the food. This was my last visit to this place.

Delicious! Much better than Darya. You get more than what you pay for, and the girl that works at the front is super sweet. It may not be a fancy restaurant, but the food is so good. Try it.

This place is VERY good and very tasty. It’s a little pricy but you pay for what you get. I really enjoyed it!

I dont think I will recommend this place to any of my friends who want to experience good persian food. You can find much better quality elsewhere. medium to small size portions, koobideh was less than mediocre, chicken wasnt much better.

Meh… food was ok. Pricey for what you get. $ 2.75 side salad was a joke, c’mon that should just be part of the dinner, ya know? $ 1 to add feta? Jeez… Atmosphere is stark. Looks like somebody tacked up a tablecloth on the wall and that’s it. A/C blows so cold you could hang meat from the ceiling! Go someplace else…

Normally I’m not a fan of anything if isn’t carb-based or drive thru but I was craving something different and I know you can’t go wrong with Chicken&Rice! They give you a boatload of rice! So much you can have leftovers for 2 days! I’m a simple boring person as Alexis b. says: P. I got the #1 which is the chickek Kobideh? With the cucumber yogurt! Sooooo delicious!!! my food was under $ 10.00 and healthy! Can’t go wrong with those! I did cheat and buy some desserts, they were just so so… I’m a fan of Forn al Hara’s goodies! Overally good spot right down the street from me when I want a change of pace ^_^

Super impressed by the cleanliness and décor of the new fast casual persian restaurant in the hills. Very professional looking menu, tables, kitchen etc. Looks like it could be a chain, but it’s not… which is good ;) My only complaint is that I wish they roasted the tomatoes longer… too hard. I will be back for sure! MYGO-TODISH: Mixed Koobideh for sure.

I’ve become a Mediterranean food junkie over the past year and this place just tasted kind of off. I tried both chicken and beef koobidehs and the lamb. They grill the food right when you get it, so it comes out nice and hot, but after biting into it, the meat was just dry. The flavor just felt off to. Someone about it didn’t vibe with me. It just didn’t feel Mediterranean at all. I can’t quite place what spice ruined it, but overall didn’t taste delicious. So I did what I always do in these cases: drown the food in sauce. Except, that didn’t work. I have a special place in my heart for tzatiki. I still remember the first time I had it, at a pita pit in Santa Barbara. Heck, I’ve even made it before and it’s amazing. It’s pretty easy to prepare, but when I tried their tzatkiki, it was wayyyy too sour. Maybe they put in a overdose of sour cream in that batch, but I didn’t get the smoothness that tzatiki is iconic for. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by good Mediterranean food in the valley, but this place didn’t work for me. One the upside, service was great. Despite it being a order at counter place, one of the workers came by and cleaned up for us when we finished eating. It’s these moments that make you appreciate service. Food — 2 stars Service — 5 stars

I was very much anticipating the opening of this place in the area. I’m a huge fan of Mediterranean food, and I was not disappointed. The kabobs are grilled when you order them, and every time I have been there(about 5 times now), the food has always been fresh and very tasty. I love the roasted veges and the rice is just amazing. I love both the cucumber and shallot yogurts, and I absolutely love their house salad. It comes with feta, tomatoes, onion, golden raisins, currants, walnuts, etc. and the house dressing is great. I often go in just for the salad and an order of their hummus… great healthy and satisfying meal every time. Love this place! The only downside is that it is a bit pricey, but you do get a lot of food. I often get 2 to 3 meals out of every plate so that off-sets the price a bit. Oh, and the service is always great, and I recommend trying the cardamon iced tea!

This is now officially my lunch spot when I am home for the day and don’t feel like making a sandwich. I seriously crave this place! Today I met a former co-worker here for lunch. I FINALLY branched out and ordered the filet kabob. My friend ordered the beef & chicken koobideh combo plate. While the filet was good, the white meat chicken kabob remains my favorite. At least I can stop wondering about it now. My friend’s koobideh were delicious! The chicken was incredibly moist and juicy. The beef tasted like it had lemon juice in it. Very good! I will continue to lunch here on a regular basis. I can call in my order and it’s ready to pick up by the time I drive the four miles over here. Skewers, I love you!

I’ve been waiting for this spot to open up for sometime and I finally got my chance. I kinda made my mom mad, because she made dinner for me but I wanted to try a new place badly and the thought of new overcame my mind LOL. Plus I can eat off my moms leftovers anyhow ;p So I came in after the gym and it smelled wonderful in there and that display of desserts mmmmm. The service was friendly(especially for anaheim hills ;)) I looked over the menu and its pretty simple and straight forward. Some of the pricing of the a la carte versus the full entrees make no sense to me but whatev. I mean it would make more cents ;) If they charged a small fee to add a third meat to a combo. Ok so I order the chicken and beef meal. Came with rice and the grilled tomato and onion. Im with one of my Unilocaler friends, they need to step their game up with the veggies! I only waited about 5 minutes or so for my food and I only live literally 5 minutes away. The food was super fresh and hot when I opened up the box. Man this food is super tasty. The meat was insanely juicy and fresh. My mom tasted it and liked how juicy it was as well and she’s addicted to the rice. I think she could eat that with anything!!! The yogurt that came with the meal was awesome as well, my sister liked that as well. I thoroughly enjoyed that meal from beginning to end! I will be back sooner than later, how can I not, its jogging distance: p

It’s close and it’s not a chain, so I figured I’d check it out. There’s always something a little grim about strip mall restaurants. Whether it’s the icy air from an overworked airconditioner, or the piles of plastic cutlery, you really aren’t having a relaxing experience. Skewers is one of those lunch on a tray with styrofoam and plastic places, but the cucumber yogurt provides a cooling wash of dairy to tame any tingle in the skewer. The lamb I had was a long strip of formed meat … tasty, but a bit weird looking. Rice was fine. The baklava i had had less honey than others I’ve tasted, and the fainly spicy flavor of fresh cardamon made it unique. Hummus was a rich swirl of chickpeas, and a glossy pepper spiked oil helped liven it up a bit. There was more than enough for me soloing to take home along with fresh pita. It’s a little pricey, but it’s a family-run business that isn’t a franchise. Hope they make it.

3.5÷5 More satisfied with my meal because they had a daily special: 3 skewers(chicken, beef, and lamb) for $ 10. I recommend the lamb skewer. much more flavorful and tasty than chicken and beef koobideh Realized I didn’t get my side salad this time, maybe it wasn’t included in the special? the cucumber yogurt is delicious, but they shouldn’t put it in the same box of to-go orders because the food makes the yogurt kinda warm. Rice is super tasty. I believe theres butter and something else that gives it a yellow/orange color. If the rice wasn’t so oily I would give this place 4 stars(maybe they should serve brown rice as a healthier alternative). Also, don’t put the yogurt in the same box with the entrée!

This place has just opened up by my house. If it wasn’t for me seeing their menu at my friend’s house I would have never known it existed! Being Persian myself, I usually don’t really crave kabob but I had to try this place because of the pricing. Other local Persian restaurants are so overpriced. I ordered the 1 skewer beef koobideh 1 skewer chicken koobideh so I could try both. I love the fact that each order comes with a side of grilled onions, your choice of yogurt and tadeegh(the crispy rice part). Another thing that I love is the thinness of the skewers, I hate how some places make their koobideh so thick. The beef koobideh was delicious, super juicy and not overly powered by too much onion. The chicken koobideh was also delicious however, it was lacking something in taste. I felt as though it lacking some sort of flavor, just don’t know what. The staff here were super nice and attentive. I don’t usually go out of my way to eat kabob but if I were to ever have a craving for it, I would definitely come here again.
