Wenr in to buy shoes found a pair of nikes for sale askedd associate for my size and she found it so when i went to ring out they scanned the shoe and it scanned for more and when asked wuz up they said they would check they said it was the wrong sheo and they were all out of the one i wanted and they said there was nothing they could do i wasted 30 min of my time horrible costumer service

Alan helped me get a heavy bag stand, he didn’t try to sell to me just inform me on what would work for me. Which I think is essential in a retail employee. Even after he clocked out he saw me loading this heavy stand in my car and came over and assisted me before heading to his car. Great service! Thank you Alan!

The crew was very pleasant and helpfully which was amazing since they were very busy and low staffed.

Worst customer service ever. The guys were fine. The lady’s at the front counter could care less. We walked out and will never go back. We just live around the corner. Would drive 50 miles not to go in this store for anything. We went to another sporting goods store and dropped 400.00. How they stay in business is a big surprise to us. Will be calling corporate office on Monday. Don’t waste your time here.

Horrible. Only came here because we were in the area. Should have kept driving or waited until tomorrow to visit the one by my house. Cashier was very rude and not professional whatsoever. 7:58pm, turned off half of lights, music, and guy in blue shirt (Manager?) was pacing back and forth because he clearly wanted to close and kick everyone out. But I guess what else can you expect from Big Five?

I had a great experience today. I was looking for a pair of workout shoes. I was greeted and given prompt service. I did have to choose a different style of the brand I wanted, because they didn’t have my size, but I liked them just as much… especially since they rang up $ 10 cheaper than the price advertised.

This place has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. The cashier in the front (blue/​green eyes with an ugly orange dye color in her hair) was so rude, to the two people she rang up prior to me and rude to myself as well. Michael, apparently the so-​called «manager» was rude and unprofessional. (He looks like a pedophile too.) Not only that, but he laughed when I asked a question about the return policy, in a mockingly way as if what I asked was a stupid question. He couldn’t even help me with my exchange because I didn’t have my id, and laughed. (There was no need to laugh at me because I thought I had it in the car but didn’t.) This guy is just a plain idiot, should be fired because I will NEVER come again. I would rather drive all the way down to the one in Fullerton where I am treated as a values customer than have to deal with Bitch 1 and Bitch 2 at this location. Don’t waste your time, the other reviews don’t lie. This place SUCKS!

Today’s visit to Big 5 Sporting Goods was very nice and pleasant. I was in search of some earthworms for my Australian arowana but had a hard time locating the suckers myself. I inquired with the front cashier if they sold such an item and she said yes, asked me how much I was looking for and then called it over the intercom. As I was waiting for the back staff to bring the worms to the front, we had a nice conversation of if and when it was going to snow in Southern California. I was probably there for about 10 minutes and it was a wonderful experience. 12 earthworms for 3.99 plus tax. My fish is going to be one happy camper!

Went in to buy some new shoes for walking around in. They’ve quite a variety to choose from and usually have a lot of brands on sale on their weekly ad. The people here are pretty friendly and offer help without being asked. Incidentally, I also purchased a shotgun here a few years back. The ammo is crazy expensive so shop elsewhere for that (Walmart), but the salesman was, again, courteous and helpful. You’ll encounter a lot of rude employees in gun shops who act as though they’re doing you a favor, but not here. He was knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions I had. I actually came here after going to Field Time Sports and Guns since they ignored me. Oh well… I’ll give my $ 400 to a place that makes me feel like a valued customer.

i can’t believe that type of costumer service. i just call to ask if they still have some pants and jacket for snow, and they laugh answering that they don’t have. Some people go vacations and they still need it. Such a big company should know how to answer a phone call and probably still have in stock.

Honestly the worst costumer service! There assistant manager was helping me and he was horrible. After taking forever to find what I was picking up he started to do my paper work and without saying anything to me he started to help someone else… I then said to him that I was in a hurry and had already been waiting a long time… he then argued with me about that. After I asked for the store managers name he got a lot nicer… too late buddy! Worst store ever!

Worst service. Super rude and super slow when I was the only customer. 1 hr till I got my refund. Worst experience ever. The store manager Michael was very rude and refused to help explain to me the paperwork I had to sign and also continued to make fun of me in front of customers. Never have I had such bad service in my life and such a bad experience so I had to create an account and share my experience immediately

I tried to call them before going in as my husband wear an 11.5 and not many stores have half sizes. I called for over an hour and the line was busy. I tried having another store call in, and they said the phone must be off the hook.

Big 5 is your very average sporting goods store, but unlike most the customer service was fantastic. The gentleman that helped my son find shoes for work was incredibly helpful and when dealing with a 14 yr old that was exactly what he needed.
The prices were reasonable for all of the major brands, although I still prefer Sports Authority and their mystery (surprise at the register) sales.

The Store Manager Michael is a sorry sorry excuse for a Manager. He needs to fire himself and go find another job where there is zero interaction with people. I feel sorry for his employees who have to report to such an arrogant person. Big 5, IF you choose to keep him please send him to Customer Service school and make sure he understands he has no business without customers visiting his store. He was rude and aggressive during a recent visit.

I was thinking, «Yeah, they should have plenty of football gear.» Then I was like, «Where’s all the football gear?»
Seriously, They had plenty of soccer equipment, cleats and clothing, but hardly anything for football. Sure they had some cleats, but I was looking for gloves, footballs and some gear. Very limited to none basically.
No employees were in that area to help or ask me if I need assistance. Great deals on older stuff (shorts and shirts), which I capitalized because I didn’t want to leave empty handed. Maybe it was just me, but the store seemed really small and dead?
Perhaps it was a slow day, but they should really focus on the bigger sports and carry more items? At least the cashier was nice and polite and asked me if everything went well. I told her about the limited selection and she apologized.
Even their online website had limited selections for football items.
