Disney’s World of Color

What a fantastic show! It’s hard to describe all what happens, but it all is amazing. Thousands of lights, a huge number of fountains, several lasers, steam blasters, and fireballs, all coupled with animation and music with distinct Disney Flare. It’s a bummer that you have to stand during the show, but it is still worth it. Oh yeah, the game you play on your phone before the show is a fun touch too!

This is probably my favorite parade at Disneyland. The music and LED light show are in-​sync and the characters are very interactive with the crowd. You should stay til closing just to see this. It’s worth it!

If you haven’t tried the World of Color Desert Party, it’s a must. Definitely worth the price and experience.

Always loved World of Color but got to experience the dessert party option with V.I.P viewing. Really, after eating brie, manchego and cheddar cheese with fresh bread from Boudin, a rack of desserts and an alcoholic beverage, there’s no other way I’d want to see this show. All I can say is if you’re looking to impress your date then you need to watch World of Color from the dessert party view.

Honestly, I feel so honored. Me and my boyfriend were chosen by one of the workers to START the World of Color! It was a beautiful experience to be able to do so (we got VIP treatment, take that everyone who was grilling us.) It was a great experience and the whole show was breathtakingly beautiful

What a spectacle! I had been wanting to see this for the longest now. I recently went to California Adventure for the first time this year but missed out on this show so I knew I had to return again to see this. So during the birthday festivities I was able to make my way over again and finally cross this off the bookmark.
For those wondering, this is basically an animated water show in the form of Disney. Imagine just a water show on the Disney channel, well its something like that. The fountain displays these wonderful animations created by Walt and before you know it you are heavily gasping in sheer amazement. Yeah I’m a big Disney fan. Accompanying the watershow are lights and fogs and all sorts of special effects. Clips of Disney are played throughout the whole show.
This watershow does not disappoint at all. I mean, if you’re a child at heart this is truly a spectacular event to witness while chilling out at Disney. I’d return again if I’m ever at Disneyland. Try to get good seats otherwise it can be super difficult for viewing.

The world is a carousel of COLOR!!!
This is my favorite show at the Disneyland Resort. I love Fantasmic, but it doesn’t quite hit me like World of Color does. Currently (as of May 2016) it is «World of Color — Celebrate» which is a Disneyland 60^th anniversary themed show. It goes over the history of the park, films, shows and is hosted by Mickey and Neil Patrick Harris. This is different than the original World of Color, which is my favorite. I’m not a fan of the current show, «Celebrate,» but it’s still very entertaining. It just seems to be lacking something. I believe they’re only keeping this version up during the 60^th anniversary celebration and then they’ll be returning to the original.
This is a water show, but not the type of water show that probably comes to your mind when you hear those words. It sprays water into a sheet up in the air and images are projected onto that sheet of water while music and other audio plays along with lights and of course, color! This description doesn’t do the show justice. The first time I saw it I got tears in my eyes, which I hate to say because it’s a water show! But I can’t help it, it’s so beautiful, amazing, and it brings back such nostalgic memories when you hear and see the iconic moments from your favorite Disney films.
There’s two showings on the nights that the park closes at 10. You can wing it and try to get a spot last minute, or you can get a fast pass which I highly suggest. You don’t get to skip the line with the fast pass, it’s more so that you have a «saved» spot for the show. There’s different sections around the lake that have an assigned color and when you get your fast pass, you get a ticket with a color and call time on it. Just go there when you’re supposed to and you’ll be all set!
This show does shoot water in the air, so be warned that if you sit close to the lake, you will get misted on. But it’s not light mist, it’s pretty heavy mist and it adds up after half an hour. You won’t leave soaked, but you and your camera will definitely be wet.
If you’re coming here out of town, I highly recommend this show. If you have a pass and come here often, see this show at some point! It’s spectacular!

This is my favorite show that Disney has to offer. It is better than anything I’ve ever seen at Disneyland or California Adventure. It is even more magical than the parades!
This show is unlike anything I’ve ever watched before. You get to see the best scenes from all your favorite Disney movies and it is all played on water while classical songs from Disney movies are playing.
There is no extra fee to watch this show. You have to go get passes for it inside of California Adventure by the Grizzly Rapids ride. It is just like getting a fast pass. Having these passes does not keep you from getting other fast passes for other rides during the day, which is really nice.
If you plan on watching this show, I recommend going and getting passes first thing when you get to the parks. The plus side is that you will most likely get tickets, the down side is that it doesn’t start until later in the evening when it’s dark out, so if you are planning to stay at Disney ALL day, then it shouldn’t be an issue. As for me, I am usually wiped out after an 8 hour Disney day, so sometimes I don’t have it in me to stay for the show.
Also, you need to get to the show EARLY. At least an hour early. Even if you get passes to watch the show, it’s first come first serve for the good spots. Even if you get there at 7:30PM for an 8:30PM show, there will still be a ton of people already claiming their spots. So maybe bring some food with you and a blanket to sit on the ground, because you will be waiting a while. BUT it’s worth it. You NEED to see this show at least once. The first time I watched this show, it brought tears to my eyes because it is just so beautiful and magical.

«The World of Color — Celebrate!» is a fabulous 30 minute experience of lights, sounds, firey explosions, and fountains of water in all possible combinations of patterns! This is a Must Do activity at California Adventure in Anaheim, California. It’s a result of many years of genius sparked by founder, Walt Disney.
Walt Disney wasn’t satisfied with his successful cartoons of Mickey Mouse. He continued on to full length color animated movies — the first was «Snow White and the Seven Dwarves» in Technicolor. Many, many more animated movies became classics as narrator, Neil Patrick Harris, led us on a visual and audio tour of memories.
Ryan, Craig, Tim, Alana and I got Fast Passes so we could get closer to the front. The show was so amazing that I was glad it was dark so no one would see me crying! The story is so inspirational that it brought tears to my eyes! …or maybe that was just the spray from the show that I couldn’t avoid. I used the tall guy in front of me as a shield! Yes! We stood that close to the movie screens that are made of streaming water! We felt both the cold mist and the heat from the fire — it was all good!
Walt Disney said, «Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.» This is why the World of Color is never boring — there is so much to see! Plus — the show changes every few years. I am looking forward to seeing this current show again as we continue to Celebrate 60 magical years of Disney! It’s the Happiest Place on Earth!

The only way to watch the World of Color show is sitting down with a plate of desserts and a glass of champagne. This is a new offering and the only place to SIT and watch the show as opposed to grabbing a fast pass and standing for an hour. This viewing is similar to the former Fantasmic dessert party but with easier ticket buying options and alcohol.
Each ticket is $ 79 and that comes with dessert, drinks and seating in the main viewing area. They have tall or short tables and stroller parking. You have your own personal server that’ll bring you everything you need. Check in starts 45 min before the show and you get seated right away. You’ll need a wrist band if you want to go in and out. The desserts are delicious and consist of macaroons, dulce de leche cookie, chocolate mocha cake and waffle bowl with yogurt and berries. There’s 3 cheeses: brie, manchego and cheddar and a bread basket. Drinks include unlimited coffee and hot chocolate and there is also a specialty cocktail. This was easy to do and I highly recommend it to everyone!

The Bellagio has nothing on this. Much more than a water fountain display, this multimedia and multi-​sensory experience is a must see, even if only once. Water walls, moving water jets/​fountains, lasers, projected images, fire cannons, light effects and intense sound set the stage for this visual stunner.
Projected images and clips from various Disney movies, park goers and interviews with Walt, himself, make up the content of this presentation. Lighting effects and lasers add to the illusion of being immersed in the movie clips, like Frozen and Star Wars, and are further enhanced with fire plumes shooting out of the small lake, as if to add an exclamation point to the visual statement… and a sense of drama as the cool water sprays are juxtaposed with intense bursts of heat from the flames (only felt if you are fortunate enough (or daring) to view it from the water’s edge).
However, per Disney’s quest to pack as many people on or in to an attraction, there is no available or reserved seating save for the disabled. The standing room only policy is, I’m sure, to allow as many people as possible to see the experience. The drawback is not so much any type of fatigue that may set in, unless, of course, you have been spending countless hours standing in line during the day, but the obstructed view kids or the diminutive in stature experience. It’s either on the shoulders or try to get a view in between other viewers… that is if they’ll let you.
Dining at certain venues includes preferred admission to a reserved section at the water’s edge, but fast pass tickets are readily available as long as you make getting one one of your first priorities when you enter the park. Of course, you can always try to cram in or get a vantage point at the start of the show.
Who would have ever imagined that tiny water droplets, and the way they refract light, would make a visually entertaining backdrop, née screen, on which to watch a movie. Bellagio, are you listening?

I love the original WOC and the Winter Dreams version. It really is a beautiful show you should see at least once. Even though there’s no characters in this particular show, the way the waters dance to the music and movie scenes is really moving. I’m not a big fan of the WOC Celebrate edition. It’s a nice show, but it has more of documentary feel to it.
Since there are fast passes available, the show packages are not really necessary or worth it in my opinion. The viewing section is tiered off, so the closest area and the highest sections are roped off for guests with preferred tickets for the show (only available through show packages). The center section is for the general fast passes available to everyone. So in reality, your view is going to be somewhat the same as the other guests. Definitely pick up a fast pass for the show! If you head over to the show arena without any fast pass at all you’re going to be stuck in a terrible area.
As of March 17, 2016, WOC will offer a dessert party option in which guests pay $ 79 per person of any age. This option will include assorted desserts, fruit, and cheeses plus wine, or cider, all while viewing the show at the same time. If you’re willing to splurge, I would definitely purchase this ahead of time since this is the only option at this time that offers a meal while viewing the show at the same time.

World of Color need I say more. If you are a Disney fan you can’t go wrong with World of Color the water, lighting, music, pictures and films playing for the audience is an amazing sight to see. In certain areas you will get wet from the mists from the show done prepared. Fast Pass is a must in order to get a good or decent spot. Common sense try to get in the middle inline with the Ferris wheel in the background for the best view. This is a must see when coming to DCA.

Absolutely fantastic.
We got the World of Color Dining Package at the Carthay Circle Restaurant. It got us awesome spots. We were told that we were standing where the Imagineers who created it stood to watch it. You really can’t get a better spot than that. The show started at 8:15 p.m. and by getting that dining package we were fine getting there at 8 p.m. I highly suggest getting a dining package spot for your first showing.
The show itself is spectacular. It tells a very moving story. I found myself in tears at certain points. I can’t endorse it more highly.

If you don’t get a fast pass with your hotel stay, then you better book it over to the park and get in line for one there. If you get there after 10 am, you are too late. So the next best thing is to find a spot on the bridge around 8 pm. Show starts around 9:45.
The show is great and so very cool. If you sit up front you WILL GET WET. We sat on the stairs in the blue section until the show started. Then you must stand to see the show.
It lasts about 20 mins.

This was our third visit to the World of Color… and it will likely be our last for a long while! The thing is… it was on the boring side. Not sure if it’s because we have already seen a couple and the «wow» factor is gone… or if it truly were not quite as creative or as inventive as times before?! My vote is for the latter… I think they may be in a dry spell on new ways to be brilliant.
You have to get there super early to get in line to get a good seat… and this time we did have a good location… but the workers hassled people… and ultimately having to wait 90 minutes… like usual… before the show started… was more of an inconvenience than it was all worth! Pretty sure we will skip this the next (few) time (s) and find something new to marvel… because ultimately, world of color has lost its luster!

This is an amazing show as long as you have a good view. You can get wet if you are too close, however. You get a «fast pass» for a certain section and then before showtime follow the signs and colored lights to to your section for standing room among many. The Yellow area is very difficult for viewing the projections on both the water and California Screamin’ so I recommend no further down than green section.

Best seats in my book! Reserved is the way to go. I highly recommend it, money well spent. Working for Disney is one of the best jobs ever for it’s never ending perks.
Front row and the newest 60^th anniversary of Disney version of World of Colors is beyond amazing! Please go see it!

The holiday show is better than the 60^th anniversary show. Wish they concentrated more on the history of Disney and celebrated all the film’s instead of so much focus on frozen. Tired of hearing let it go in ever show and everything being about those 2 girls. Ugh. Let them go disney! What about Bambi & all the other favs from the last 60 years… so much history forgotten, too much time wasted with frozen. :(

This is what you call an eyegasm! Go early to the park to get the fast pass for the world of color. This fast pass does not collide with the regular ride fast passes so you can hold both at the same time. Blue seating is what you want because you get the front section to see it all. I think one perk that Disneyland has over the other Disneyland/​world locations is the world of color. It consists of water jet and holo projections to tell a story. They switch it up depending on the season/​holidays which makes it even more exciting. There’s usually two showings per night. 9pm and 10pm I believe. It gets really crowded these times in which they also shut down some rides to display the show more effectively. I’ve personally only seen the 60^th year anniversary world of color which consisted of Disney music such as «let it go» in Frozen and a storyline of how walt Disney came to be… but most people said the regular world of color was even better. Prior to the start of the show, you can also play this matching remembering game on your mobile in sync with the colors on the mickey ferris wheel. Winner with the fastest time gets to control the colors on the ferris wheel for a little bit. Kinda cool if you can actually be the leading scorer…
Bottomline: Check it out!!! and don’t lag on the fast passes!

This is a beautiful show featuring a broad variety of Disney favourites. From my research, you can only properly see this show with a free ticket in the form of a Fast Pass (although it doesn’t stop you from acquiring other Fast Passes immediately after, which is why it’s like a ticket). You pick these up from the Grizzly River Run ride Fast Pass machines. There were still passes left around 3pm on a Tuesday for us! We got Yellow zone. We arrived 15 minutes after the start of our return time on our ticket and it was already PACKED. We could only find a good view from the wet zone right at the front — and yes, you WILL get wet just like the signs say. Not just a sprinkle. Lots of sprinkles of water over the course of the full show means you will be pretty wet afterwards. Lucky my sister and I shared a poncho like a blanket so we stayed mostly dry, but my legs, bag and the top of my head were pretty damp by the end of it. The show is a decent length which makes the wait worth it. There’s water, light and pyrotechnics, many sing-​along moments (including Let It Go from Frozen of course which everybody gets into). There’s a large range of movies featured, going back from Snow White up more recent ones like Big Hero 6. Reason I take away one star is because the cast members insisted we stand up to wait for 20 minutes prior to the show starting to allow extra space for latecomers. This is understandable but when you’ve been on your feet all day at the park it kinda sucks! Overall I’m so glad I stuck it out to watch World of Color and I would recommend it if you follow my tips below.
PRO TIPS:
— If you want a primo viewing spot that less people go for, choose the wet zone right at the front. Not a lot of people can fit in there or choose to go there so you will get an awesome view! We were allowed access here with our YELLOW zone ticket (although I’m sure they’d let anybody in here with any zone ticket as not a lot of people want to go here!)
— Bring a poncho and wear it for the previous tip. Bring one regardless of where you plan to view the show, as you never know where you might end up standing.
— Bring a small blanket to sit on while you wait for the show to start. You may have to wait up to an hour depending on when you arrive within your return time.
— Make sure you get your rest and sitting time in before you go to wait for the show. As mentioned previously, you may be asked to stand while waiting for the show to start.

Never really watched it but seen from a distance. Pretth cool the lights you can buy go with the show. But it does look very nice.
One day i will stop to see it.

Worst disney experience ever!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!
Let me start of by saying my hubby and myself have been loyal Disney fans all our lives.
We went during their 60^th aniversary celebration week in Oct. This is one of their signature shows. So we had to get up early to obtain a fastpass for «standing room» only. We got to California adventure land right at opening and there was already a line up just to get the fastpass. Show was scheduled at 810pm, standing room only and its first come first serve so we had to get there an hour before the show to secure your standing spot.
For this kind of effort one would expect an amazing performance. But the show went on for 10min and got cancelled with no explaination whatsoever. The first 10min was just okay, nothing impressive.
We had been to other signature shows (Fantasmic) in Disneyworld in Orlando before and it was a much different experience then.
I dont appreciate Disney crew members constantly harassing us to move around, we were all packed like sardines behind the ropes. If they can’t handle the capacity, then they shouldn’t sell more admission tickets or have the show more than once per night.
It was ridiculous. If Walt Disney was alive, he would NOT have let this happened to his guests.
Why even bother celebrating your anniversary if you can’t handle the capacity or accommodate your guests. Is this what Disney has become???

Amazing! Seriously, they have out-​done themselves! The 60^th anniversary of Disneyland celebration theme was fabulous! Truly remarkable! The colors, the effects, and the blazing hot fire were all incredible! Such a great way to end the night and thank Walt Disney for his amazing talents and efforts in creating this dream world! If they had this on DVD, I would buy it!

Spectacular! Disney’s World of Color is one amazing show! I like to give props to the person and the team in charge of this. This water show isn’t always the same either. They project a scene of just about every Disney movie on the spraying water with the corresponding song playing in the background. Along with water, projections, lights, and music there’s fire that shoots out from the water for added entertainment. Put it all together you have one awesome show!
I suggest getting Fastpass for this show. It’s so popular they actually have Fastpass for both show times. If I can remember the Fastpass station is near Grizzly Run. Plan your rides and other show times around this because you don’t want to miss out. Even if you do get a Fastpass, get there early so you can stand closer to the rail based on what group you are in. Enjoy!

OK! LET ME JUST START OFF BY SAYING «AMAZING JOB DISNEY»
I visited the parks last week and heard the hype in regards to this show. So, I jumped online a week before I went and booked me a dinner package at the winery with prime seating for the WOC show. Totally worth it. With dinner you receive a ticket for seating right in front of the show.
I’m not going to lie. I cried. Tears of happiness and joy. Neil Patrick Harris and Mickey took us through the history of Walt and the amazing legacy he left behind.
YOU MUST SEE THIS SHOW :)

Must see show in Disneyland California Adventure! I have never gotten fast passes for this show not sure why. I did the dinner package that includes reserved spots in front of everyone which to me is a better deal since it is hassle and stress free. The show changes all the time depending whats popping in the Disney World. Definitely a must see if you are here!

What separates Disneyland from Disney World? WORLD OF COLOR! It’s amazing seeing motion pictures of Disney moments projected onto water along with bright lights, smoke and fire!
TIP: the first thing you need to do as soon as you enter California Adventure is head straight to the World of Color Fastpass station to get your zone passes for the show. It’s located right next to the Grizzly River Run ride. World of Color’s fastpass machines shares the same space as the Grizzly River Run fastpass machines. Be mindful that the LEFT side machines are for World of Color and the RIGHT side machines are for the Grizzly River Run. Sometimes the sign for which is which is not visible and clear. I made the mistake of thinking all the machines there were for World of Color regardless of a rope being in the middle. But there were no signs indicating that each side were for different attractions. No big deal, but I wasted a fastpass on the Grizzly River Run ride instead of getting a fastpass for Radiator Springs since that ride sells out quick for fastpasses…
A fastpass is NOT required for the show as you can still see the show from other areas of the park, BUT the seats are not as great as the fastpass seats.
Depending on what time you get your fastpass, each zone has a different color: Red, Blue and Yellow. Red zone gives you THE best view of the entire show… you are further away with no poles or other type of distractions in your way and if you’re one who doesn’t like to get wet, then this zone is perfect for you. Blue zone is located in the middle section of the pier where you’re a bit closer to the show than Red and get the mist of the water in the splash zone area. There is a large pole in this zone that blocks part of your view. Yellow zone is located on the right far end of the pier. This is the closest you can get to the show and prone to get more wet in the splash zone area, but by the angle of the seating area in this zone, you may not be able to clearly view the entire show as you’re closer to the right side and the left side is pretty far in sight. Unfortunately, you can’t control which color zone you get. They usually distribute the red first until it runs out, and then it goes from blue to yellow.
I highly suggest you getting to the show early to reserve your seating as it may get packed and it would suck to be stuck standing behind a bunch of tall boys. 10 – 15 minutes before the show starts, they keep the audience entertained with their Fun Wheel game. They instruct you to join their WiFi and then go to their Mickey’s Fun Wheel website to play their game. It’s pretty much a matching the color pattern of the Fun Wheel, and the faster you answer it correctly, the more points you win. The person with the highest score at the end of each round gets to control the colors on the Fun Wheel. Even though we didn’t win, it was still a lot of fun seeing the entire audience getting so engaged into matching all the colors in order.
The show usually changes depending on the season you go. I’ve been here for Christmas time last year, and it was Frozen themed… of course. On my most recent visit this past weekend, I was able to attend the Diamond Celebration where they paid tribute to Walt Disney, Mickey and all the original Disney classics. It definitely brought back childhood memories and the show was spectacular! I was a bit upset though that they threw in Frozen’s «Let it go» into this Diamond Celebration show. It’s not even a classic movie and yet it got it’s own spotlight while other classic movies were just popping in and out of the show. Please stop milking Frozen. It’s getting a bit ridiculous –_​–
The show gets a 5 star as they always go all out on it, but I docked a star overall due to the seating and the workers. Seating can get super crammed and even if you arrive early and get good seats, the workers here don’t really help when it comes to controlling the crowd as some people tend to rudely push their way to the front. There was a time when those who arrived early were calmly waiting for the show to start, but instead of the workers having those that arrived later to find open spaces, they made everyone who was there first to move to accommodate those that just arrived. The people who were waiting longer for their spots and then lost it to someone that just got there were upset. If Disney can come up with a better system on how to honor those that arrive early for their seats, then I can’t imagine how much happier their audience would be.

One word: AMAZING!!! I’ve heard such great things about World Of Color but it was far more than I’d expected and I loved it.
We got to California Adventure early just to get our Fastpasses for the 9pm show because we weren’t going to miss this for the world. We showed up about an hour before the show started to try to get a good spot but everything was already pretty full and we were crammed in there. Everyone who didn’t get the fastpasses were lined up around the whole pier and there were just people everywhere. I highly suggest making sure to get those fastpasses so that you can have a much more closer and intimate view of the show, it really helps. We were going to make our way down to the front row until we realized that was the splash zone, we probably should have still went since it was so warm out.
Once the show started I felt myself revert back to my childhood and all the memories I had of Disneyland were right in front of me. The whole concept of telling Walt’s story with pictures, water, lights, music and fire was spectacular. While there were tons of breathtaking moments and moments where I was just smiling from ear to ear and dancing there were moments when they showed Walt and him talking where I just got chills and just couldn’t believe I was there. I stood in awe the whole entire show and I loved it.
This is a show that can not and must not be missed, it is totally worth waiting an hour or two lined up. It’s definitely the perfect ending to a wonderful night and it was the most amazing end to my lovely time at the park. While I’ve seen plenty of shows at the Disneyland Resort over the years, this is the best they have ever put together and I look forward to coming back and seeing it over and over.

If you find yourself at World of Color during the Diamond Celebration the show might be a little bit different. Not that I would really know because this was the first time I saw this show, but it was amazing nonetheless.
I cried. Like full-​blown baby. It was sweet. It was touching. And it really captures the essence of Walt and Disneyland. It’s narrated by NPH (where can one really go wrong with that) and highlights Disney and Pixar alike (and yes, even Star Wars. BUT! Where are my Marvel superheroes!?)
Here is my gripe… the whole Fast Pass system as well as the seating area has to be perfected a little bit more. I know Fastasmic has probably been around a little but longer but they have it down pat and if World of Color can get their system to be the same it’ll be perfect.
We got there 15 mins after our Pass time started and there was no where to sit! We ended up squeezing next to a friendly family in the «wet zone» where we sat on the steps. Then, about 30 minutes before the show they announce that there’s not enough room so everyone has to stand. It was hard to see because everyone was much taller and also because we were on the side of the show and the mist just looked like a bunch of colors mixed together instead of actually images.
I really did like the show and thought it was lovely but it would’ve been nice to be able to see more of it.

AMAZING. SO AMAZING. Must-​see show for visitors to California Adventure who haven’t seen it before. You will not regret adding this to your busy park-​hopping schedule!
Without giving too much away, World of Color is an intricate and elaborate light and water show held at night over Paradise Bay. We happened to attend during the 60^th anniversary Diamond celebration, therefore the show might’ve been a little different than usual (can you say Neil Patrick Harris!?); however, the regular show is bound to be just as amazing after seeing what Disney is capable of. It was absolutely breathtaking to see all of the lights and colors come together with the music and montages projected onto the water. Disney really knows how to play with your feelings and make you feel nostalgic and giddy throughout the entire show — what a great end to a day at the happiest place on earth!
As for tips, definitely recommend grabbing a fast pass early in the morning and getting there early to ensure good seats. People even started to line up 2 hours beforehand, but we only waited for one hour and still had a decent view (which may seem long but it’s worth it). If you REALLY want a front row seat, they have a «splash zone» in front where you risk getting wet during the show.
Overall, fantastic experience! Don’t miss it the next time you’re at the park!

Since my original review, they have made a lot of improvements/​changes to WOC.
They added fast passes and dining packages, which has tremendously helped the foot traffic and lines. Fast passes are distributed near the Grizzly River water ride. Depending on the day, you can score a fast pass up to mid-​day (rumor is they’ve opened up way more FP recently). There are also dining packages where you can make a reservation to eat at Carthay Circle, Ariel’s Grotto, or Wine Country Trattoria. After your meal you get passes for a reserved viewing area for the show. These viewing areas are non-​wet zones and a good viewing angle, which make it more worth it. If it fits in your schedule and budget, I recommend doing the dining package for the best WOC experience.
What hasn’t changed is the earlier you can get here, the better. You can stake out the best vantage point within your section or ask a cast member where they recommend to stand. The later you come you will just have to squish into what available space is left or work your way through the crowds.
They just updated the show to the Diamond 60^th celebration edition «Celebrate» which now features the face and voice of Neil Patrick Harris and more Mickey. I have to say I loved the original show so dearly, but the historic aspect of this version is cool. I also will miss «the wonderful world of color» song, which I hope they add back in at some point (there is only a teaser snippet of it in the beginning). What I do love is the classic quality of the show. The animations on the projector evoke a perfectly nostalgic emotion that is hard to put into words.
We watched from the right side boardwalk and the view was probably the worst I’ve ever had. The projections on the water were very hard to make out and so I was grateful they added the projector screens on Mickey’s Fun Wheel. I’m looking forward to seeing the show again with a more centered view.

This review is for the 60^th Anniversary World of Color — Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney. The 60^th Anniversary WOC is just as majestic as the normal WOC, but it definitely has a more history lesson/​documentary feel. This show focuses on Walt’s vision and the beginning of the company Disney. Neil Patrick Harris and Mickey Mouse are more involved and interactive throughout the show. Although I did not enjoy this show as much as the normal WOC show, it truly is amazing to think how this all started with a dream and a mouse.

Absolutely amazing. Loved every second of it and totally worth the hour+ that we had to wait. Luckily we followed tips online to grab the fast pass for it first thing in the morning so we were able to get in the blue section.
However, even though they let you into the viewing areas an hour early, there were people waiting to get into the viewing areas an hour before that. Not too surprising though given that people start securing places 2 hours before the parade.
I’m not sure if it is always this good but I heard it’s different for the 60 year celebrations. But seeing Neil Patrick Harris and Mikey Mouse projected on water with lasers and flames is a sight to behold. It puts things like the Bellagio fountains to shame.

Was here for the crazy 60^th celebration my friends had dinner reservations at Wine Country Trattoria which included a pass for World of Color. This was a new version which was really good more of a history than anything but still really cool. Would def do this again with WCT or Carthy Circle

This is the first time seeing world of color off season. I saw world of color during Christmas and they had the holiday version, which was also good, but I loved this version much better. Something about the effects and music, as well as the combination of colors, makes this show spectacular. I do highly recommend getting your fast pass as early as possible because they run out quick! I also suggest not sitting way too close to the front because you aren’t able to see the over all picture too clearly. I say, park yourselves in the middle row, as I had done for the Christmas version, and everything will be much clearer.
I am so glad I have the disney pass so I can see this every month or 2x/​month!

Not going to lie, I was a little disappointed with the show. Maybe because it was so hyped up that I had high expectations. The fountains at the bellagio are much more majestic. For an animated watershow, 30 mins felt pretty long. I guess I wanted more pizzazz than just animation projected against water. The shows at Disneyland are much more entertaining.
