Worst chinese food ever. If you like this place, you have never had a decent chinese food meal and i feel sorry for you. I walked in one day on my way home from work, with an open mind. As i begin to order the lady cant even hear me because she has her radio(which had terrible reception) way too high. I coudnt even see some of the sides because the glass was so steamy. To be honest the food did not look appetizing but i told myself i wouldnt judge… atleast not yet. I ended up getting the kung pao chicken, brocolli beef, rice and chao mein. The kung pao tasted like everything but kung pao. I could of sworn it was a mixture of hot wing sauce and a lot oil. The taste of the chicken was VERY bad. I actually almost threw up and im not exaggerating. There was still squishy skin and tasted a bit old. Brocolli was bad tasting. How do you manage to make your brocoli taste this bad? Chao mein and rice? I might as well had the lady dump a glass of water on my plate instead because it was TASTELESS. Zero taste. An extra thumbs down for not having sriracha sauce. All they have here is their own sauce and by this point you should know better then to eat anything made here. So if your in the area and looking for some quality chinese food, keep driving. THISISYOURWARNING. Thank me later.

This is a hole in the wall type of joint. You’ll find all your typical favorite foods here(ie kung pao chicken, orange chicken, chow mein etc). Let me start off by saying, I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews, are you expecting fine dining? Go to Beverly hills? Are you expecting Panda express? Go to Panda. I used to used Unilocal finding a place to eat, but you can only take each review with a grain of salt because I am sure we’ve all had that mixed feelings from other Unilocalers. But I digress, this seems like a nice family ran restaurant. I’d recommend the kung pao chicken, it’s got a good kick to it. I don’t know why someone else said the chow mein was bland, I for one do not need a spoonful of MSG, thanks. I’d definitely come back for the food, the restaurant and food are clean, everything seems fresh, food is fairly priced. If you can’t come to the restaurant, they also deliver! Grab a take out menu and leave it in your office.

This is hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a while. The service is great and the food was absolutely delicious! I’m usually really picky with my food but the people were so nice and the food was amazing!!! Highly recommended!

Yummy! This is a great stop in to fulfill some Chinese food cravings! I don’t know about the other reviews, but the staff was really sweet to me… It’s a small little stop in but it’s got some big flavor. Would go again

I read the most recent 1 star review dating 4 months ago. So, I decided that I would try this place out myself to see how it was and why the last consumer gave a 1 star. Why is mine a 1 star as well? I’ll tell you why. When I first walked in, the place was actually quaint and could sit 30 max capacity. It was pretty clean inside despite the fish tanks being overly populated. The 10 year old arowana is the star attraction. The small goldfish in the tank shouldnt be in there with the beast considering they are dirty fish and probably why the water was so murky. So as we were about to order we looked at the food. Everything looked good and smelled good. Chow mein looked good. I got a 3 item consisting of orange chicken(which the 4 month old review said tasted the worst) i also got bbq pork and kung pao chicken; The portion sizes were generous. We also tried the garlic chicken on the side… Orange chicken: My first bite was okay. Taste was mildly sweet but had a slight funky taste. The second bite was the scariest experience. I FOUNDANDCHOMPEDDOWNON A BONE! YES! A BONE!!!(I took a pic of the bone from my orange chicken… thank god i didnt choke! I was able to cough it up before it slid down any further.) At that moment i tried shaking off my disgust and worry and tried my other entrés. BBQPORK: The smell was good but the taste was okay sometimes and than some pieces were just too soaked in an oily film that coated the inside of my mouth and came back up in my mouth once. I wasnt to happy about that but i muscled through one more bad piece and moved onto the next entré; Kung Pao Chicken… KUNGPAOCHICKEN: This one was almost edible despite most the chicken was mainly grisle and fat pieces. It tasted nothing like chinese kung pao chicken from panda express and didnt taste like a good«mom & pop» shop food. No, the sauce it was crudely coated in tasted like hispanic Molé! I was a little shocked at how much it DIDNT taste like it should and how MUCH it tasted like hispanic food…(which i love my hispanic cusine, but this was a joke in disguise for sure) CHOWMEIN: This would have been so good if it just had a missing ingrediant… FLAVOR!!! it was bland and tasteless with no savory bites. The noodles had no flavor and the veggies were the only thing that had some faint taste… I was so disappointed, irritated, & now losing my appetite… yet trying so hard to give everything on my plate a chance to shine! GARLICCHICKEN: the smell was not appetizing and smelled like fish bait… my husband tried a piece and stopped chewing. I asked if he was okay and he just used his napkin as his trash can discreetly… We spent $ 17 worth of food only to throw FULL plates away. We should have asked for a refund but we felt tired and just embarrassed to be throwing away food and wasting it, but we threw it away as quietly as we could and didnt make a scene about how disgusted were… As we were trying to just sit and watch the Arowana pace his small space and let the ill eaten food settle in our upset stomachs. I ended up smelling something that burnt my lungs terribly! A strong smell of ammonia was coming from the kitchen! It was hot and hard to breathe! I started coughing and my husband and I literally held our breath as we left hastily out of the establishment… after i stepped out. I took in a deep breath to fill my lungs up with fresh air. My lungs literally burned for a minute. I could only imagine how much worse it was inside the kitchen! The only thing i liked was the raspberry ice tea(and that wasnt made there.) The air outside had a wonderful smell whafting from the laundromat next door. When my husband and I drove home. We both had upset stomachs and had to use the bathroom… not a nice way to end your night on the pot with your bowels screaming at you… afterwards we both felt better and felt normal again after about an hour. I dont think i will be back anytime soon… if u are looking for some good chinese food with hefty generous portions, cheap prices, & really tasty… Go to Dragon Express in anaheim on lincoln passed brookhurst near savers… their prices are awesome and their food has always been great ANDCHEAP!!! If u plan to come to this hong kong express. Be weary of bones in the orange chicken… you have been warned and updated.

My mom wanted to take a few to-go meals to work for her friend’s birthday. This place had good reviews and it’s on the way home. The shopper center that it’s in is a little shabby, at least there’s plenty of parking. Inside my favorite feature is the giant aquarium, fish are super cool! The food line was clean and the items were labeled to help identify the food. We ordered and the food was fresh looking and piled high. There were a few flies in the restaurant so I took out a star for that. I got to eat some chow mein and kong pow chicken. It was pretty good and not too salty.

I was looking for a steamer tray style Chinese food place in Anaheim. I personally am not a fan of the chain style Panda Express or Pick up Stix. My friend recommended me to Ho-Toy’s because her friend’s parents own the place. Unfortunately, I would rather eat at Panda Express than eat at Ho Toy’s so I had to keep looking. Searching through Unilocal, and google maps, I found Hong Kong Express. It’s located in a small strip mall just south of Angelo’s Burgers. There’s a laundromat and a Little Caesar’s Pizza in the same area. It’s pretty easy to find. Entering Hong Kong Express, the steamer trays greet you with a great smell. They have the normal selection of steamed rice, fried rice, or chow mein. Their entrees are just like any other typical steamer place, however, their flavorings are better than other steamers I’ve been to in Anaheim. My normal is to get all chow mein, and some type of chicken entrée. They definitely load up on the food and give a hefty portion just like every other steamer tray restaurant. This is my norm for steamer try places. I always get my order to go, but there are maybe 6 tables that seat 4 – 6 people. It’s quiet, since there aren’t many people here. The lady behind the counter is kind, and friendly. A single entrée is under $ 6, and the quality is better than any others I’ve been to in Anaheim. This place is cash only.

Im going to just put it like this, if you want greasy, MSG, tasty Chinese food. Come here. You eat this stuff and every bite that’s going into your body, you know this can’t be good for your health, BUTITSJUSTTHATGOOD. It’s seriously that late night in the City type of Chinese food. Thats how you know its good. It just the health aspect of it, but whats good that ISN’T healthy? right? It’s seriously a hole in a wall business where you’ll never think that food would be that tasty until you actually try it.

Where the hell is my fortune cookie? NOTINTHETO-GOBAG! pissed… Anyways, had the fried rice, beef and broccoli, and orange chicken. Fried rice was a little bland and had nothing but rice and egg in it… where’s the peas and carrots? Beef and broccoli was good, nice flavor and not too greasy. Orange chicken was good too but it was a bit fatty… I don’t usually enjoy pulling stringy pieces of fat from my mouth. I’ll stick with Ho-Toy’s take out down the street in the Albertson’s parking lot.

Ummm, no everyone should NOT eat here! And if this is the best fast food in town, then I feel really bad for the city of Anaheim. I came last week to this restaurant and the food is terrible!!! The rice tasted old and stale, the chow mein was dry, and I could swear the chicken was NOT chicken! I was disgusted as soon as I walked in, and I was scared to order because the food looked like it had been sitting there since yesterday. I couldn’t finish my food either, not because they give you soooooo much food like someone else said in their review(they give you just as much food as other fast food Chinese restaurants do), but because I couldn’t stand the taste or the texture of the food in my mouth. I’ll stick to Panda Express, thanks!

Super nice people are serving up super fast food in a super cool fast food place. You can’t judge a book by its cover and this place is the prime example. The food is 2x as good as the outside believes you to think. ~Food 3 Stars ~Customer Service 4.0 Stars ~Overall, 3.5 Stars! This restaurant has room for several parties to sit. It is not your typical fast food place. The inside is decorated with two large fish tanks with beautiful fish including a huge friendly faced one. The large fish comes right up to the glass to greet you. The food here is pretty good. The Orange Chicken was not the best but was AOK. The Kung Pao Chicken had yummy sauce. I was not too thrilled with the chicken itself. The noodle was absolutely yummy. Overall, I spent about $ 6.50 here and was quite satisfied. If I lived closer, I would probably return. ***BONUS– THEYDELIVER! Hong Kong Express Chinese Restaurant… another reason the OC is the best place to live.
