Modern Nails

The ladies there are nice but their work is beyond sloppy. I got a fill and a pedi and didn’t get my cuticles taken care of, resulting in the gel nail polish to lift and wrinkle. I paid $ 40 for both so the price reflects the work. Will not return!

I chose this salon because of its high reviews and I am very disappointed. I went to the Modern Nails for an acrylic pink & white full set… and a french pedicure. The lady started with my pedicure. 20 minutes after the pedicure started, another lady showed up to do my nails. After Lady #1 finished my french pedicure, I looked at the paint job. It was really uneven. I mentioned it to her, and she tried correcting one nail and made it even worse. Then she said «I cannot make straight for you» «Pick another color». I said I wanted a french pedicure not another color. Then she took off the crappy paint job, didn’t try to correct her mistake at all and just said I wouldn’t be charged for the pedicure. Great! Now I have no paint on my toes and have to visit another salon just to get the paint job done! My old full set was in the middle of being taken off so I decided to follow through with that part of the appointment.
Big Mistake! The lady that did my hands was very heavy handed with the drill. I flinched in pain several times throughout the 90 + minutes it took her to accomplish a full set. Yes… it took that long. Ridiculous. She did not use the right tool for getting underneath the nail to clean it up. Instead, she used the same large piece that she used for the top of the nail, effectively cutting into my skin. There are now cuts underneath my nails and it hurts to type.
On top of that, it hasn’t even been 24 hours and my nails are peeling! When she finished with the gel top coat, I had black specks in the nail finish, and random white marks in another nail. Not to mention, I had been in this salon for over 2 hours, for a failed pedicure and terrible full-​set. After leaving, I had to go to another salon just to get the french pedicure I had originally wanted, costing me even more time.
I had high hopes for this salon but was really disappointed. It was the first time ever that I didn’t leave a tip, even for a crappy job. I usually leave something. But if you’re going to cause me pain and make me drive across town to find someone to finish the job you started, then no… you aren’t getting a tip and please don’t look at me like you are expecting one!
$ 40 for a full set, removal of old set, and gel top coat. I should have gone to my original salon.

Been coming here about 4 years, I try other places and always come back, because they are that good! Inexpensive to moderately priced.

Okay so even with them not opening up at 930 when they did come they apologized and started right away. The mani and pedi was only 20 bucks. They’re nice and sweet to their customers

I love this place the lady who did my nails was very sweet and professional, she did a great job on my nails! I had actually came in a few weeks ago to have fixed what another nail shop had badly messed up and had my 2 young daughters with, and the lady not only remembered them but little details about them. Great atmosphere, longest conversation I’ve had with a manucurist, while getting my nails done. This is definitely my new nail shop.

Nails lifted after first couple of days! Very disappointed. Nails broke easily as well:/ I don’t recommend. One of the ladies told me she can’t attend me because she had ONE person to tend too –_​– I do not recommend this place at all! Nail place on dale and la Palma are waaaay better. I paid less there and got way better quality!

5 stars for the massage chair! I’m not into frills. In a nail spot I seek a business that is clean, affordable and has good customer service. Today I got just that. Clean facility, reasonable prices and nice results. Very friendly.

Fantastic, inexpensive place to get your nails done. $ 20 for a mani/​pedi with spa chair. Clean with many options for colors.
My mom and have stopped in every few weeks for several years. It usually takes about 30 – 45 minutes so if there is no one ahead of you, you can get in and out quickly. The ladies are super sweet and do a great job. It’s more of a no extra frills kind of place, so if you want and extended massage or scrub, it may be better to find another place. As for me, I appreciate the kindness, speed, and cost.

Love getting my nails done here! I’ve been coming for years. They are clean, thorough and cheap! I recommend coming on an «off day» so you don’t have to wait.

I just moved to Anaheim and needed a new place to get my nails done. After moving, my nails were trashed and we were headed to a birthday party the next day. Lin did my acrylics and they looked fine. Price was good. However, they lifted really badly. Lin said it was because my nails were thin, but I’ve been wearing acrylics since they were invented and have never had this much lifting. Went back for a fill and pedicure. Lin was not careful with my fill and got product on my skin and cuticles. When she filed, she did not take care to smooth the edges and i had ridges at the base. There was still product touching my skin. The nails started lifting the next day! Only one week later, and I had to have them filled somewhere else.
The pedicure was not good. The massage was non-​existent and my nails chipped within a week.
Two stars for the nice ladies, but sorry, the work was not good.

I have had acrylic nails since I was 14 and I am now 41. I went in at the last minute, in a total rush after 6pm on Friday November 8^th. It is now December 23^rd and with everything going on I have not had them refilled… they have not lifted at all! This is absolutely the very first time that this has ever happened!

Nice clean place with decent pricing! Their work is clean and really pretty nail design. The other thing is their eyebrow waxing, probably one of the place I go to — Jennifer the owner ALWAYS DOES a great job. I went to a high end salon and they messed them up :(I quickly went back to Modern nails!

Ive been super busy and I stopped in to get a quick pedicure
To my surprise, there was only one person working. She was doing my toes when a woman came in and asked for a wax. She took off to wax her brows and left me there on the spa chair. Then she came back apologize and got back to work. I noticed that she did not use a base coat and her nails dug into my toes as she worked… ouch. However, the finish look came out looking pretty and beautiful.
She was very nice about letting me relax while my toes dried. She also gave me a free pair of sandals to not mess up my nails since I showed up in heels. My pedicure came out to be $ 15. She asked if I wanted my nails painted for an extra $ 5 (making a pedicure and manicure only $ 20). I said no and tipped her $ 5 instead… this place is your quick get in get out kinda nail salon. Oh, and a quick tip… they charge for credit card for anything under $ 15.

This nail salon is new business in my block, haha. They are currently holding a GRAND OPENING special 20% off nail services.
I TRULY believe in supporting local businesses. I currently don’t have a «go to» nail salon because I’ve actually been lucky as far as just going to random nail salons and being happy with the work… but this place is literally walking distance so I’m going to stick with this place. The owner actually used to work at Kool Nail Spa at Buena Park mall and I used to get lovely manicures from her there, so I was so happy to find out she opened her own nail salon across the street from me! Her name is Jennifer and she’s really good with manicures, acrylics and nail designs. I also got a french tip pedicure by I forgot her name… or never asked… but her work is GOOD. I got compliments on my toes because of her haha.
