Nonosina Polynesian Dance Studio

I came here to learn ori from Taiwan, nonosina is the best family of Polynesia dance

I stopped in with my friend Sheila today while visiting LA. Aunty Riki was so welcoming and I had a great time and workout!

I danced here for a couple years and will forever be loyal to Nonosinaland! It is a very good place to learn more about the Polynesian culture and I highly suggest that if you’re going to learn something cultural, you learn from people who know what they’re doing. The dance studio is family owned and they even have a delicious restaurant a couple doors down called «Matiki’s» (give it a try!). The Liufau family is very nice and very passionate about the Tahitian culture. I would definitely enroll my future kids here.

This is a fantastic dance studio. The black team are award winning dancers and amazing performers. I danced with the purple team for a year with my daughter and I miss it so much. Aunty Riki and Tiana are incredible teachers; they are so passionate about their craft and love what they do. They will push you farther than you imagined and you will be grateful for it. You will work hard and learn everyday. Be prepared to sweat and have fun!

I have used them several times to do performances for Bday parties. They have the best shows and leave you feeling like you are in Polynesian.
The Fire Dance show is especially spectacular.
I would highly recommend them for an special occasion to give your guests a special treat.

Don’t try calling this place because they never pick up their phone or return your calls.
I registered for a semester beginners course with my friends and thought it’d be smarter to pay upfront in 2 installments for the classes because it’d be cheaper that way. So I paid for half the course upfront. However due to scheduling conflicts, I was only able to attend 2 courses and then had to quit. After talking to the front desk lady about it over the phone, she was more than willing to refund me for the courses that I was going to miss and was only going to charge me for the classes I had taken. She told me she’d send me a check in a mail. 2 weeks later after not receiving anything I tried calling back to see if maybe my check got lost in the mail. I had to call back about 10 times before someone finally picked up. She told me she had sent it and didn’t know why I hadn’t received it. So she said she’d check if the check was cashed and if not, would void that one and send me a new certified one. Another 3 weeks pass and still nothing. So I tried calling back about 10 more times, left 2 messages and still no response. At that point I was totally fed up. Yeah, I could’ve just gone to the venue, but because of work I’m never able to get there during their business hours.

Took lessons here. Omg! Estelle was such a gracious lady and RIcky was a bull! I mean this with much respect. I was a beginner and felt a little out of place next to some of the other dancers. However, these dancers were good! Ricky expects excellence and she gets it. Ricky’s daughter Tiana is also an excellent dancer, teacher, and performer. I work at a local high school and was Advisor for Polynesian club. Couldn’t get students to perform for International Day. Tiana brought her girls to perform, no questions asked. Awesome performance and a bit embarrassing that someone in dance production tried to post it as their performance! Nevertheless, if you are looking to learn Tahitan and Hula, Nonosina’s is the best!

I don’t dance here, but I’ve seen about 5 of their performances. They are incredible! Tight group, great music, beautiful costumes and routines! Their last performance themed «Mana» gave me chills because it was so moving. These dancers work hard and you can definitely tell their heart is in it and they embrace all cultures and ethnicities.

For the short time, I went to dance class at Nonosina’s. They are an amazing group. Auntie Rikki and family are talented. I enjoyed my time here and wished that there was a group like this in Missouri.
I do miss practicing the dances and what a great work out!!!

This is a wonderful Tahitian dance studio. The Liufau family are passionate about their studio and it shows in their work ethic. Tiana, Mevina, and Rikki are all wonderful choreographers and teachers. They have an awesome pro team (men/​women) and also several keiki teams (you will be amazed at how well some of the little ones dance), but they also offer teen/​adult classes for every level. Members of the pro team demonstrate the correct form during their women’s adult beginner class. I drive one hour to go to Nonosina’s dance class twice a week and I look forward to it each and every time. Tuition rates are reasonable. Check out some of the Nonosina videos on YouTube! Come prepared to sweat and work hard!

The best outside of Tahiti… the Liufau family really knows and respects the culture, and Mevina and Tiana are awesome, really committed to the group and passionate about sharing the culture. Great group, has won COUNTLESS awards, and is always a MAJOR contender at any fête or event. If you’re in SoCal and you wanna learn, this would be the place to go — just be prepared to work hard, cause you WILL… oh, yes, you will be busting that @ss in the studio, so be ready… he he he…

I have friend that who ios in love with the whole island culture and decided that hu;la would be a great way to get some excercise only a lot of hula dancer look like kalua pigs so i said how about tahitian and this is where nonosinsa comes in.
