I really enjoyed this place a lot! They not only have better than average burgers, but they are very accommodating to those with allergy concerns. I wrote a full review on my Disney Nerds blog. I encourage you to read it(and see the pics)!

I’m often shocked at how bad the food can be at Disney. My son & I were at California Adventure and as lunch approached, he was interested in a hamburger. A cast member directed us to Smoke Jumpers. We waited a long time to order. There were few options. I ordered a hamburger for him, and a bacon cheeseburger for me. It was honestly the most disgusting«meat» I’ve ever eaten. Why is it so hard to make a cheeseburger? I’ve had thousands in my life and nothing was anywhere as inedible as the Smoke Jumpers garbage. And the price makes it even harder to deal with. I’m not eating the food at Disney ever again.

Value at the happiest place on earth! With our season pass discount, $ 11 for a plate big enough for two, including burger, big juicy onion rings, and all you can eat veggies to top your burger with.

For everyone complaining about the price stop being cheap lol your at a Disney restaurant what do you expect. I thought the prices and food were decent. I like how they let you add as many toppings on your burger as you like. The cashiers were so sweet!!!

They have a new name and a new look but the quality of food hasn’t changed. The prices have gone up too but that is everywhere in the park. I came here for a beer and got the Karl Strauss ipa which is definitely not what I typically drink but it was good enough to get while I waited for my friend to get off of soaring over California. There was no line when I was there which is always awesome. I had to show ID twice to two different cast members to get my beer so that was mildly annoying. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and nice and air conditioned inside. Nice rest stop if you are just tired and not too picky about what you’re eating and you got a fast pass for soaring!

Absolute rip off Salad? $ 10.00 Bacon Burger? $ 12 Chicken sandwich? $ 11 The quality is fast food at best. I wanted this place to be good and have a selection but neither panned out to be the case. Not to mention $ 3 soft drinks… I wanted to go to the Paradise Garden Grill but it was closed at 4:45. Only giving this place 2 stars for the central location.

This is the only restaurant in California Disney that serves chicken nuggets!!! My child has special needs and will only eat chicken nuggets for lunch so this dime in place works for us. I like the chicken sandwich with onion rings! The dining room looks like a camping theme which is really cool for the kids.

A OK because of two things: 1. a HEALTHY portion of chili cheese fries for $ 5.69 2. the unlimited condiment bar with jalapenis and other good stuff + ranch bq sauce and stuff It doesn’t hurt that the bacon cheeseburger and fries is only $ 10 and change as well. A sandwich and chili fries is definitely enough for 2 people to eat unless you’re a fat monster and shit. roomy and cool décor make this my go to now since I could grab a corn dog and hike over here if I want to go somewhere that isn’t insane crowded since soaring is closed right now. perfect with the roomy bathrooms across the way also when the babies are with us.

I frequent both parks at least once a week to make sure I get my monies worth for the annual passport LoL. Smokejumpers Grill is my absolute 2nd favorite place to eat at Disneyland/California Adventure. I sometimes stop in just for a burger during the day. Since I am an annual passholder, I have gotten the opportunity to sample almost all of the parks restaurants, cafes, junk food stands, etc. Not happy with the value of some but love this place and everyone agrees whom I have brought here. :) This place is perfect for a family, the price is about what you would pay eating outside the park.(About $ 10 a person for the food, but if you add a drink, tack on another $ 3 – 4. The menu is simple and easy to read. Your choices that you can pair with fries or coleslaw is as follows: A cheeseburger A bacon cheeseburger A chili cheese burger A grilled chicken sandwich chicken breast nuggets or chicken salad. They also have chili cheese fries for about $ 6 with tax and a more than plenty portion for an individual. Tasty and hits the spot. For the kiddos, they have burger meals, chicken nuggets meals(about $ 6) and also mac n’cheese for 3 years and under($ 5).They are accompanied by healthy apple slices They also have ice cold beer for the adults(6), that def hits the spot. As well as shakes in strawberry, chocolate or vanilla. Fruit and little goodies are available at the register alongside souvenir cups, but be warned, when you buy the $ 8 cups, you do not get free or discounted refills anywhere on the park, you basically pay for the size of that drink. and that goes for any souvenir cup.(Dsiney sure knows how to get their money, hahahaha). Their soft drinks are Coke, sprite, diet coke, orqnge soda and root beer. They also have coffee and hot chocolate($ 4) There are plenty of tables to sit inside and outside and plenty of people working at the registers so the lines usually go quick. They are very friendly as well. There is a condiment bar with fresh veggies such as lettuce, tomato, onions, banana peppers, jalapenos and sauces(thousand island, mayo, ketchup, BBQ sauce, and ranch dressing to pile to your hearts desire. The place is always well staffed and clean. This place is located in California adventure right next to Calfornia Soarin’ and behind Grizzly falls To sum it up, the best burger placre in both parks and works with most peoples budget. If you have a big group, this is the place you want to take them. Also, donct forget to use that annual passport for your discount, it is not much but every little bit helps! Everybody will be left full and content! Bathrooms are right next door, as well as a snack and souvenir shop just in case you have someone in your party who wants to take a look. The ambience is nice with Disney music playing. It is also nice place to sit and relax if you have been walking too much. The only reason I gave a 4 star is because I am picky and I wish they would dry off the trays before they give them to you. That bothers me a bit. Other than that, I am super happy and hope they keep this place here. It is always busy and buzzing. You can sit and people watch outside and enjoy the beautiful So cal weather. :)

I ordered the Chili Cheese Fries $ 5.69, with bacon add $ 3.00. The order taker plus the counter staff were all excited and a-flutter about the concept of adding bacon, like it had never been done before? I’m sure there are a lot more bacon lovers like me out there that add bacon to everything! Except maybe Chinese food, sushi or Thai. Swung by the condiment table and grabbed some free tomatoes and I’m a happy camper! The chili is great with a lot of meat, plus the portion is huge and enough to share.

«California Disney’s version of Fuddruckers.» You order your food, pay. Pick it all up at the next counter behind the cashier. Walk the entire tray of food to the toppings bar(if you can) and dress up your burgers, your way. Find a seat, there’s an abundance of seating inside and outside. The Annual Passport discount comes in handy. We saved about $ 20 off the top(for a family of four). Otherwise, you’re paying the same amount you’d be paying at Red Robin(which isn’t very cheap). One thing I did notice, the folks working here were more pleasant, cheery and happy to be working here. The management must be pretty good or everyone gets paid more than the other eateries in the park? As a bonus, the food is pretty good here compared to the other joints.

Disneyland has mastered the art of feeding the masses. If they could just split bread and fish I’d say they’re at Jesus miracle-maker level! The restaurant is no-frills with an assortment of tables and chairs packed into a cavernous, cabin-style building. The registers where you order and pay are right in through the doors and there are plenty of lines. Once you order, you step forward and receive your blessing… oops, meal. What I love is that you can then help yourself to the condiments bar where you can load your burger with lettuce, tomato, onions, sauces, etc. It’s not ugly, wilted lettuce, either. Just like everything at Disneyland, the lettuce is frilly and happy to see you! I had the Garden Vegetable Burger and absolutely loved it! It’s a pretty big portion with onion rings(upcharge) and I added double the lettuce and tomato for extra refreshment. My friend had the Grilled Chicken and Jack sandwich, and judging by the way she chomp, chomp, chomp destroyed it, I’m guessing it was one of the best things ever. Honestly, maybe my experience was divine because I walked 10 miles that day and was starving, but I still think the food tasted better than it sounded at first(sports stadium«cuisine»). Smokejumpers Grill is perfect for your all-American California Adventure ;)

Just a quick update to explain my additional star. I returned to Smokejumpers Grill last weekend for lunch and enjoyed my meal much more than my previous visit. I’ve now decided that chicken nuggets is the way to go, or more accurately, the kid’s meal chicken nuggets. I’m a light eater and can never finish the adult size entrees at Disneyland. Since I couldn’t take my leftovers to go, I always felt bad throwing away half of my food. But the kid’s meal gives me the perfect amount and since I was planning to order the chicken nuggets anyway, I just got the smaller portion. The kid’s meal version includes four nuggets atop a bed of french fries. I also got a small package of sliced apples and a mini water bottle for about $ 7. Getting the kid’s meal also allowed me to indulge in a chocolate milkshake. Check out my previous review for more info on other menu items and the general experience at Smokejumpers.

This was my first time eating here since it was the Test Pilot grill. It seems to me that the menu is very similar to the old one with just a few extra touches. The interior of the dining facility looks pretty much the same as far as I can remember so I guess I do not really see the point of the remodel or change of restaurant… I ordered a hamburger(no cheese) from the children’s menu. It came with a mini burger, fries, apples and choice of a drink. I opted for a water. I knew the drink sizes were going to be small so I also ordered a medium Coke Zero on the side. The total was $ 7.80, which for Disney, is an amazing deal. It was plenty of food and I was full for the remainder of the day. The burger was fine, nothing to rave or complain about. The fries were pretty good, just the right amount of salt and tasted great with ketchup. They do have ‘create your own’ type bar near the back corner of the restaurant in which you are able to top off your burger with as many onions, lettuce, tomato and other condiments as you like. My friend ordered the kid’s chicken nuggets and as far as I could tell, she liked them well enough too. They actually looked pretty good to me and I wouldn’t mind giving them a try next time. It took a little too long to order, but I blame our cashier. She was extremely slow with no sense of urgency about her, but once we ordered, our food came out in a timely fashion. It’s a perfect place to grab a bite to eat while waiting for your Soarin’ Over California fast pass!

Smokejumpers Grill is located inside of Disney California Adventures park, right next to the California Soaring attraction. The décor is cool, the workers are friendly, they have a salad bar to add veggies to your burgers along with the condiment pump stations on the side, and the restaurant is pretty clean, even the outside tables. But that’s all I have to say for the positive part. Their menu isn’t very large and for a burger and nuggets place, $ 10 is very pricey for mediocre amusement park food. My sister and I shared the chicken nuggets with french fries since we were on a budget and the food was just alright. It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t «omg I would spend $ 10 for it again» good. My cousin ordered a beer and chili cheese fries. The cheese wasn’t even melted over the chili and fries. It looked bland and I would never pay $ 6 for it.

This is your very basic hamburger/chicken nuggets place where picky eaters/kids will likely find something to eat. Housed in a mini airplane hangar and decorated with ephemera from smokejumpers(firefighters dropped from planes right into the heart of fires), as well as stuff from a Disney-created fire department, this isn’t the coziest of restaurants, but it’ll do for quick food. You order at a register station and go to the counter, where you wait a short time and your food comes out. Giant high five to Katherine, who complimented me on my custom ears and had a fun chat with Jessica H. and me. For whatever reason, it took a while for our veggie burgers to come out, but Katherine checked on them twice and reported back; we were absolutely not, in any way, ignored. Disney service is almost always top notch, even if you’re just ordering burgers. What makes Smokejumpers special is that there’s a toppings bar. Want 15 slices of tomato or an ungodly amount of mustard? It’s yours. They have dispensers for ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, mayo, and ranch, with little cups. There are also trays of fresh lettuce(and not icky iceberg lettuce), tomato slices, pickle spears, onions, and, to my surprise and delight, grilled bell peppers, for your burgers! The veggie burger was average, it’s the same one they serve at the Village Haus in Disneyland(where there’s no toppings bar), but it’s perfectly serviceable if you remember you’re at a burger joint in a theme park, not a specialty place. I really like their fries, they’re thin and cooked perfectly, plus you get a large helping of them. Overall, don’t expect excitement, but you’ll leave satisfied.

Very often places like this at Disneyland, with that cafeteria style food where everything is prepared in the back kitchen and popped into large trays to stay heated until needed, end up being dry, bland, and overall pretty disgusting. There are a couple of bright spots that can do this style right, Plaza Inn coming to mind, and others that should go sit in dark corners and wallow in their shame(you sicken me, River Belle Terrace). It mainly comes down to two things, the initial quality of the food and the speed they can get that food from under those heat lamps and on to your plate. So, whenever you see a big line at a potential lunch spot at one of these kinds of places, take it as a blessing as your food will be that much fresher. And such was the case during a recent visit to California Adventure. Ensuring that we would have a quick walk to Soarin’ Over California, we came to the newly refurbished Smokejumper’s Grill that was right next door. It was pretty packed with a rough time in line as the railings are not set up to properly handle groups of people moving in a two directions(to and away from the counter). But, braving the cashiers and getting our trays, we made it to a nice shaded table outside. I had the Chili Cheeseburger and my girlfriend had the Bacon Cheddar Burger. Both hamburger patties had been cooked prior, betrayed by no grill to the bun and the cheese not being able to melt, but they were well seasoned and seemed to retain a fair amount of juiciness that made them pretty good. My chili was obviously from a can, no slow cooked softness to any of it, making it a bit sad to add to the burger. The fries were basic, probably from a bag, but not overly salted, and freshly fried. This was topped off by a side of Onion Rings which were actually on the high end of decent. Admittedly though, the real star of the day was the vegetable bar they have set up to provide condiments. It’s small, but open, making it easy to get your standard mayo, ketchup, and mustard, along with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and even grilled red peppers. Everything tasted very crisp and fresh and the whole station was clean; very impressive considering how many people were dining at the Smokejumper for lunch. So, all in all, a bit average, but not a horrible place to get a burger … for Disneyland. — — — - And for the Disneyland Reviews List: Taste — Or the Overall Flavor: * * * For having that cafeteria style that Disneyland requires at many of its restaurants, it’s actually not that bad. Just be sure to go when they are at least a little busy to decrease the amount of time the food has spent under those heat lamps. Convenience — Of the Seating & Service Options: * *(and a half) While the inside is not that spacious, there are still quite a few tables outside for ease of seating. Plus, that vegetable and condiment bar is extremely nice in both convenience and freshness(I say this knowing that the next person reading this will find it right after some five year old has trampled over, mixing all the mustard into the mayo). On the flip side of that, though, are the lines themselves that don’t have separate exits for people with trays to walk through. Instead, everyone shares the lines, people pushing forward and those with their food struggling to escape without dropping anything. I’m a bit surprised accidents don’t happen more often. Value — Will you walk away satisfied?: *(and a half) Every place in Disneyland is relatively over priced; the trick is to find food that will make you not want a snack two hours later, despite what you pay. Typically, paying around $ 10 per person is what you should expect, but still have a filling meal. The standard combo is already over $ 10 and that does not include a drink. Add in the fact that if you split a meal, you will probably be pretty hungry in just a scant two hours and you don’t get much value out of Smokejumpers. The one saving grace is multiple trips to that vegetable bar for pickles and grilled red peppers(which I admit to loving). Kid Factor — Is there entertainment for the young ones?: *(and a half) California Adventure only has a couple of spots that feature scheduled entertainment and Grizzly Peak Airfield is not really one of them. Gone is the rocket booster that used to blast cool mist on kid beneath it nearby. There used to be a song and dance show across the way when this place was Condor Flats, but I haven’t seen that show since the switch of themes. Still, the latter may still exist in some form, so I do add that half a star(just in case).

So it’s Disney California Adventure food, and I’ve been searching for a place that is convenient to eat, not too overpriced and taste good. Unfortunately this wasn’t the place. I had the chicken breast nuggets with onion rings and I found the chicken nuggets to be rather salty, especially in the breading. The chicken itself was kind of dry, like when places try really hard to make sure the chicken is cooked all the way though but end up making it dry. The onion rings were decent, but nothing special either way. That being said, it is fairly priced for being in DCA(about $ 10), so I might be back in the future just as a place to fill up while there. There’s a burger topping bar on the side that as ketchup, bbq sauce and ranch to dip.

Been here twice since they reopened and I think I’ll be back.(This is pretty big coming from someone who usually doesn’t enjoy burgers.) Both times I got the bacon cheddar burger and chilli cheese fries. However, the second time I came here, we also got another bacon cheddar burger with onion rings, fries with my order, a large Coke, and a chocolate shake. Inconvenient thing is you can’t replace the fries for chilli cheese fries so I got the burger and chilli cheese fries separate the first time. I really like how you can build your own burger though. The bacon cheddar burger just comes with the beef patty, cheese, and bacon between two buns and you go to the veggie bar and add your FRESHGREENLETTUCE, cut up tomatoes, onions, pickles, etc. They also have ketchup, mustard, bbq, and mayo. Even on a busy day, it’s not hard to find a seat. People usually just eat and leave unlike plaza inn where people sit and wait for the fireworks. The fries are a bit salty but that changes from time to time, the onion rings have a decent amount of batter on them, the milkshake was all right but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get a small cup for around $ 5, the chili cheese fries have HUGE meat balls in them which the boyfriend likes, and the burger has two thin bacon slices on them.(more bacon, more starts)

I really enjoyed Taste Pilots Grill and Smokejumpers is basically a reiteration of it. I’m glad they kept the theme and menu basically the same, it just had a makeover! One of my favorite things about this spot is the open salad bar. You get unlimited condiments and toppings so if you’re not a burger person, my little tip is to order the chicken nuggets and turn them into wraps! I grab a heap of lettuce and tomato and just dip them in ranch. Delicious! The burgers are pretty standard and it only costs $ 0.50 to upgrade and add bacon for the bacon cheeseburger. It’s also $ 0.50 to upgrade to onion rings which looked tasty as well. The lines to order were long but there was plenty of setting. This just leads me to believe the ordering/cashier part needs to pick up the pace. It seems pretty disorganized since it’s 2 lines per each cashier. Sometimes there is a worker directing the lines, but other times you’re left to gauge the line yourself and it can be inefficient. Food comes out pretty quickly, however, so they seem to be well staffed in the kitchen. If you’re looking for some classic tastes with a little extra(unlimited salad/topping bar) Smokejumpers is a great value. Just make sure you have time to spare waiting in line! Another plus is they serve beer!

Fast Food Type Sit Down Place at California Adventure Park Brand new eatery next to Soarin’ California. It’s open and spacious with indoor and outdoor tables. Sadly, this is not an upscale unique restaurant I was hoping for. They serve burgers and chili burgers. The chili burger was ok. The little one did not care much for it either. I’d rather eat candy apples for lunch from Tolley Treats. Chili Burger– 2 Stars You get a slice of meat, chili with dry meat in it and a slice of American cheese. Condiments are off to the side. The chili was not flavorful at all. I suppose the best thing was the French fries but they were not very good either. This is just my opinion. They take your Disney pass here for the discount. No table service. You wait in line, pay the cashier, get your food and then take it to your table. It is nice to sit outside. I just think there are better places in the park. I am not sure I would come back. Overall, AOK. Disneyland Anaheim is, by far, the best Disney park but the food places cannot compare with Florida’s park. Disclaimer: I am a huge Disney Fan. I just felt like this was a let down. It is just my opinion but it is probably more like 2 Stars.
