Came with my boyfriend and we had the most marvelous time possible. I suggest creating a cosplay if you’re into dressing up. It’ll make you feel like a celebrity lol and aside from that, its just really great fun and that’s what being a nerd is about, coming together as a community and nerding out as ONE and having fun!

Had a great time with my 6year old. Lots to see, plenty of vendors, cos-play characters, artists, etc. A must for comic book/cartoon/superhero fans.

Great convention! Not to much really crazy people as you would expect. Really cool costumes and everyone was really nice. Amazing food trucks always at the Anaheim convention center.

Why not 5 stars you ask, well only because it’s not as big as Comic-Con,(yet), this is our 4th year at WonderCon, the first being the last year it was in San Francisco and while it was nice, Anaheim is a much friendlier city to attend a convention in, and every year WonderCon Anaheim has gotten better and better. More fans, more vendors, more programs. Great show, great venue and great for those that want a spring vacation in Southern California. Looking forward to next year.

Another great year in Anaheim for the super fun Wondercon. Even though I didn’t get as much time as I did last year thanks to a killer hang over I still had a blast. It is starting to really take off. I have noticed that more and more people are coming to Wondercon. I love walking around and seeing all the people dressed up and snapping photos. I didnt dress up this year but man I really wanted to. Look like I will have to next year, so I gotta start working on my costume. I ended up doing a commission from an artist that I really love Sam Carter. He did an amazing custom drawn with color Iceman for me. Even if you are not into comics I can highly recommend coming and checking this out. You will find something that you enjoy regardless. Its pretty cheap to go especially compared to SDCC, grab the kids and family and get over here. Make sure you wear some comfy shoes as it can be a lot of walking. Also if you are looking for a place to take a break, look up the Sandbox bar which is in a hotel across the street. Its a great place to catch a break and a beer. CHEERS!

Wonder Con 2015 was good, ‘tho I just visited on Sunday, for a few hours on Easter Sunday(I think it’s maybe a strategy more than coincidence this event is held on Good Friday /Passover /Easter Sunday weekend each year). It was crowded, but not overly busy that prohibited me from walking the hall. I think I was there from 10:30am to 1pm, so think a person can walk the entire exhibit hall and stop once in a while to shop within 2 – 3 hours, but if you’re one to dig through comic boxes looking to fill want lists or discover buried treasure bargains, then that takes extra time. This year, they separated«Artist’s Alley» into it’s own area that was nice to be secluded, but at the same time felt like it was separate but not equal, so lacked a little bit of the overall energy of a convention by being set aside. The guest list of Artists of note for 2015 that I saw were: Ale Garza Norm Rapmund Todd Nauck Darwyn Cooke Mike Choi Marat Mychaels Jaime Tyndall Nei Ruffino Joe Benitez …and a few others(most are the usual suspects who tour the convention circuit) I passed by Jae Lee’s table but he wasn’t there Sunday morning, as he’s one I don’t see at shows often. I didn’t see corporate booths by DC Comics, Marvel nor other publishers I usually see. For that reason, in part, it lacked a certain amount of fanfare and energy found at most conventions. I didn’t notice any good swag, the free promotional giveaways fans love. Zenescope, Boom, Skybound(Image), and a few others were there ‘tho, so it wasn’t without the presence of major publishers. Wondercon is NOT at all at the same level as San Diego International Comic Con, make no mistakes about that and it’s not even a comparable substitute as an experience. So, for those who think it’s a saving grace for not getting tickets to Comic Con, it can’t be compared. Although, I believe Wondercon sold out of tickets via their advance sales, so I believe people couldn’t spontaneously decide to attend and buy tickets at the door the day of the event, so in that way it’s becoming like most of the other major conventions, and ticket prices are always seeming to increase too. Wondercon is run by the same organizers as Comic Con, and used to be held in San Francisco, and from what I hear may be moving to Los Angeles. I still think it’s best suited for being held in San Francisco. Right now, the Bay Area only has 1 legitimate comic book convention, Big Wow Comic Fest in San Jose. On it’s own ‘tho, Wondercon is better than most other shows in So Cal and the LA area, but the Spring Long Beach Comic Expo 2015 was excellent(comparably the Fall 2014 Long Beach Comic Convention was lackluster) this year, that rivaled if not surpassed Wondercon in my opinion. It’s a show worth going to, maybe for locals or those on the West Coast, I’m not sure if I’d say it’s worth traveling to ‘tho, unless there’s other agenda items for the trip like going to Disneyland, visiting California, etc. It’s one of the shows I’d keep going to every year, but hope the current year is better than the past year, when in fact at times it seems to be slipping and getting worst in satisfying my expectations. I’m hoping they strive to improve it and not get too complacent despite selling out of tickets with massive attendance. This show had some entertainment celebrity panels I believe, but I felt it wasn’t publicized or promoted very well, so I didn’t get the same celebrity buzz I do from Comic Con. They had the typical celebrities who sign or pose for photo ops for a fee, like Lou Ferigno(TV’s Incredible Hulk) etc., similar to what you see at most conventions like the Wizard World shows. There were enough comic book dealers of both new material/releases and old vintage collectible comic books to make it appealing for comic book purists who hold cosplay, multi-media, gaming, toys, pop culture to a certain level of disdain. Parking is always a bit tougher here in this area as is traffic since it’s next to Disneyland.

Spent the whole day there on Saturday and had a blast! Got there early so I could walk the aisles before they became too crowded then spent the later part of the day photographing all kinds of fun people in their costumes. Great food trucks were there for lunch and people of all ages were having fun. Here is a link to some of the photos.

This was my first time experiencing a comic convention. I was beyond thrill to have attended and have the exposure to what really goes on. Every year, my husband and I talk about going to Comic Con. However, obtaining tickets to attend even one day has gotten so ridiculous that we opted out to coming to WonderCon and we were glad we did. The location for it is perfect, it’s across the street from Disneyland so for those out of towners they can really make it enjoyable vacation to visit the theme parks around. The actual event is great. We arrived around 10am on a Sunday and it wasn’t too crowded. We walked around to meet different artists from comic books, to painting artists to vendors selling toys. Once inside, it does get a bit crowded but it is a large location to give you enough elbow room. The highlight was seeing several ppl dressed up. Seeing how much work ppl put into their costumes is very neat. I would definitely recommend coming here to anyone who likes comic books, toys, video games, and would like to have a fun time, come and check it out.

First time at a comic/animé convention. Very exciting and entertaining. Great line up of information, special guests and all things wonderful! Definitely a must for comic and animé lovers
