Yellow Cab

This was the scariest experience I’ve had in a Taxi — possibly ever.
We got in the pick up line to be dropped off for dinner. Über can’t pick up from LAX and since we planned to go eat first, relax from our flight/​my work day and then make our way to the hotel we decided to take a cab the short distance to a restaurant and then call an Über.
I use Über almost exclusively now for several reasons: One: everything is on a credit card, Two: the drivers almost 90% of the time speak English well, and Three: they have an app that can tell me when the car is coming/​I don’t end up waiting a half hour.
The driver handed me a flier which he said was about the airport, which I set aside as I looked at my phone to check the time/​consider calling the hotel to let them know we’d be late. He then started driving us to the restaurant, never turning on his meter. Upon getting close he told us all cabs have a minimum charge of $ 19 no matter where you go from LAX.
WHAT.
First off, he could have told us when we got in and told him our location (less than 5 minutes away from LAX), he could have pointed out the free shuttle nearby before we had driven almost all the way. And most of all, he could have let us out when we asked to be let out, instead of telling us he would be taking us back to the airport if we did not pay him the full $ 19. A total scam.
I have never felt more scared in my life that a cab driver would take my things were I to leave his vehicle. I’ve never felt like the anonymity a cab provides the driver could actually be dangerous to me and my partner. But I have now.
After arguing with him as he started to drive us back to the airport I pulled out $ 20, demanded to be dropped off, and got out of the cab with my stuff.
I will never use a cab again.

If I could put no stars I would. The drivers lay one the horn and are rude. They drive recklessly and I have seen them almost get in accidents regularly IN A PICK UP DROP OFF! Like really. Never use the cabs.

Worst experience from Disneyland to local hotel. Driver was rude, impersonal, and scammed us on the route to increase meter total. Will walk from now on.

I was Disneyland this evening picking up someone. I was to disgusted by the rudeness and foul mouths of the taxi drivers in the Disney pick up. a taxi drivers were rude and disgusting they were yelling at other people in their cars because there was no place for them to go and they just keep laying on the horn. Then when they finally made it on the started yelling at the parents who were in front of them in the line. They were cursing out drivers of other cars. After what I saw I would never take yellow cab in Anaheim.
