As Anchorages only FENCEDIN dog park, you’ve got to love it. I’m dog sitting this week and I’m lucky enough to live only 3 blocks from this gem. There’s 5 or 6 designated«off leash» parks in Anchorage, but if Fido is exactly trust worthy off leash, this is your spot. It’s surprisingly and mercifully poop-free. Thankfully it seems people actually do understand and take to heart the implications of not cleaning up after their furry charges. It’s seems dog ownership is a fraternity of sorts in Anchorage and they’re a lovely group of friendly people who enjoy interacting with each other as much as the fluffy puppies. It’s quite lovely. As for the park itself, it’s just the right size with the perfect mix of trees, open space, sun and shade. There’s a few benches in the shady side for lazy dog owners, but I do wish there were a few perches on the sunny side so I could work on my Alaska tan while Fido burns off some energy. All in all, this is a great little park. There’s even a small assortment of playground equipment outside the doggy area.

So glad to have found this place for my little dogs to run around in after being cooped up in the apt all day! Love the double-gate entry. Great that they have poo bags and trash can just wish there was one on each side of park. It’s bigger than I thought too. Also wishing the small dog hours we’re more than just few hours a week… Dog owners! Clean up after your dogs!

I love this dog park! I take my dogs here a lot and have had an awesome experience each and every time. The dog park is completely fenced in, and seems to be the only fenced in dog park I’ve found around Anchorage. Sure, there are parts of the other dog parks that are fenced, but then part of it is opened to a parking lot or street. Not only is the fence a plus but also the space for the dogs is by far one of the coolest! There is a nice open area to wrestle, play fetch, sun bathe, and watch the occasional dog humping and my favorite part about the park is the wooded area, which not only provides shade in the summer months but is fun to walk in and play hide and seek from your dog, by hiding behind one of the trees and calling out their name. The park provides a little doggie bag station, a couple trash cans to dispose of used doggie bags, and a couple of benches for humans to sit on and watch their pups run around like the crazy dogs they are. Everyone I’ve met there seems to be very pleasant and the same can be said about their dogs. The park of course has a couple rules, you know the standard dog park rules:(1) pick up after your pet(2) owners are responsible for all actions of their dogs(3) dogs must be current on vaccinations, especially rabies(4) owner must remain in the park with their dog at all times. They also have times for Little Dogs(under 25lbs) & Service Dogs: Saturday & Sunday — 10am-12(noon) and Wednesday 5:30pm-7:30pm
