We didn’t see surfers for tidal bore. We got 2 kite surfers instead. What a bonus! Dave, I think, was one of their names. He was friendly to answer some questions. Like in the movies, Dave changed into a wetsuit standing by his car. It was exciting seeing them setup and enter the water. Dave was just a dot out in the water. Luckily, my hubby took a nap. We stayed, unexpectedly, for 2 hours. It is VERY windy or, at least, it was at 3:22pm on July 14. Apparently, this place rivals world class kite surfing in Colorado.

Pit stop along Seward highway! We were heading to Girdwood, Aleyska Tram and hike, and we made sure to stop at this point for a while. If you’re lucky enough, find the fresh spring water – it’s a mountain spring near Mile 109. Just a little south of Beluga Point. Anyways, Beluga Point is breathtaking(great for pictures), even just the drive down south is already beautiful! Tons of parking, and we even decided to go down rock formations and passed by the train tracks(which was trespassing) It was very windy near the frozen lake and we were freezing our asses off,(it was even colder than below temp of Fairbanks lol) Why can’t Highway 1 be scenic as this? Haha jk.

WARNING: Do not make reservations here unless you aare absolutely certain no one in your family will pass away the day you are supposed to arrive. My family and I woke up the morning of our reservation to the awful news that my wife’s father had died, unexpectedly, in the night. Instead of driving from Seward to Kenai to continue our vacation, we drove 14 hours to Fairbanks to be with our grieving relatives and make preparations for the funeral and find arrangements for all the out of town relatives. Beluga Point RV refused to make any exception to their reservation policy and refuses to make any effort to return the deposit based on our circumstances. My Name is Jeff Skaggs and everything I’ve said here is 100 percent true and can be easily verified. Don’t deal with these heartless, greedy people.

Natures beauty, power, and sheer delight! This stop along the Seward highway is a great starting point along a coastal drive, once you are done here, just keep driving, and don’t forget to ask the locals what they recommend to do and see!

If you go to Alaska for the sights and sounds, this is a MUST! It is a great stopping point to get to the Portege glaciers or towards Skilak for some hunting! There are free telescopes to view the edges of the mountain. I personally think the best time to go is during winter when everything is snowcapped. I would rate this as one of the TOPPHOTOOPS.

Great scenery, especially coming off the plane. The driver said 5 minutes to look around. No wonder 5 minutes. It only took less than that for my girlfriend and I to snap a couple of pics before going back on the bus! When that cold air hits you, you know you’re in Alaska. Unfortunately, no whales… but awesome sight to see none the less.

This is a good turnout spot along the Seward Highway to view pods of Beluga whales feeding on salmon in Cook Inlet. Not to mention stellar views of Turnagain Arm that mesmerize as well! It is preferable to turn off while traveling Southbound, as to not hold up traffic.

Beluga Point is a great place to get out of the car and stretch your legs, nab some great photos and just enjoy the amazing views along the Seward Highway. The view is spectacular. Lots of people hop out of the car and«trespass» across the railroad tracks to get to the rocky outcropping for great photo ops.

Great stopping point on the way to Girdwood. Also a great place to see the huge tides come and go.
