Spectacular steak sandwich, and the lasagna is amazing. Stayed at the Captain Cook with the wife for new years and Fletcher’s is a great place to grab a bite and/or a drink.

I heard that a new menu was debuting here, and decided to give it a shot. WOW! What a difference from my last visit! Great service and deliciousness! I scanned the menu and saw that the pizzas and sandwiches were generally unchanged. Some new additions got my attention. I was with a friend and we split a bowl of the seafood chowder. Our server, Jimmy, generously split the order into two good-sized mugs. Imagine this comment in bold capital letters and underlined: The best chowder I’ve ever eaten!!! Creamy, but not too rich. Lots of sea meat, and just the right thickness. I had the lamb Osso Bucco which came with roasted carrots, fingerling potatoes, and served on a bed of polenta. I liked the veggies, but I could have done without the polenta. It absorbed too much of the sauce. The lamb was good, but the braising liquid would benefit with the addition of a little more wine to boost the flavor a bit. I forked my way into my friend’s dish, Lasagna Bolognese, and OMG! Meaty, cheesy, and full of flavor. From what I understand, this pasta was one of the few dishes that survived the menu purge, and I’m glad it made the cut. Excellent makeover Fletcher!

This place is awesome. Located right across from the elevators at the base of the 3rd tower. A little pricey, but worth it. I definitely felt I got my money’s worth here. I stopped in here a few times during my visit and have been happy with my food and service each time. I definitely recommend this place for a meal, or even just a quick drink and or snack.

Chris is an awesome bartender and Jimmy is an awesome server. Anytime I get to see either one of those two I have a great time at Fletchers.

Yummy seafood chowder, and the ribeye was more than adequate. Not sure deserves two dollar signs, seems a bit more expensive than that.

I don’t quite know why I have frequented Fletcher’s twice in the last month or so… it’s not even remotely one of my go-to’s. The drinks, identical to any other drink around town, is 2 – 3 dollars more on average. Why?! I get that it’s in our fancy hotel, but this is such an absorbent rip-off. The food? horribly overpriced for what you get. I had the bolognese because the addition of rabbit meat sounded interesting. There was NOTHING interesting about this meal. Even Olive Garden could have done better. Yesterday I went with a coworker. I do enjoy the more intimate atmosphere for a lunchtime pow wow, but I also enjoy getting a reasonable meal that doesn’t break the bank. $ 12 dollars for a chop salad and an extra $ 9 for grilled chicken that tasted like it had been the«grilled» the day before and slightly reheated? That’s what 21 dollars will get you my friend. And because that price is so laughable, my coworker and I split it as we grumbled about how underpaid we are. Fletcher’s has gotten enough of my money; we’re good now. I would rather pay for the view and ambiance at the crow’s nest.

I like burnt food, so that didn’t bother me about the crab cake being totally burnt on the bottom. But it was 1 cake for $ 15 and was flavorless and full of bread crumbs. The calamari was just weird. My husband had something black floating on top of his drink. Service was good, that is why they get a 1. Bleh!

My husband and I love Flechers and I recommend this place to anyone who asks. We sit at the bar so we can watch the sports and get quick friendly service very time from the bartenders. I highly recommend the blackened fish Cesar salad. I wish they still offered the steamer clams, but alas it is not so.

Mediocre tap selection, WHYDOESNOONEINANCHORAGEHAVEANCHORAGEBREWINGONTAP?! Also, overpriced. I know this is a hotel bar but…$ 6? Seriously? In some places in Portland I can get a pitcher of IPA for that much! Food was decent, but tiny. $ 30 for an insultingly small sliver of halibut, with no sides. I wanted to order a cheeseburger for dessert, but instead I went to bed hangry. Service was completely disorganized. Do you like walking into a restaurant and awkwardly standing around while people occasionally whisk by you, ignoring your presence? Do you want to feel like Bruce Willis in the Sixth Sense? You should probably try this place then. For everyone else, there are much better places to go in this price range: Sack’s, Glacier Brew House, etc. I suppose if you’re staying in the hotel and hate walking, this place will do the job.

The steak sandwhich is probably the best sandwhick in Anchorge. The chower was also awsome. The serve was excellent and the crowd was minumal for lunch.

It was a freezing Thanksgiving night with not a Chinese restaurant open in sight. After 25 calls to various restaurants Fletchers was the only one with a booth for us to fall. I am not a turkey fan and am not excited by self-inducing a Tryptophan coma, so when I saw that a place with Pizza and seafood with a great bar was open, we slid on the sheets of ice covering downtown Anchorage all the way. Kind of disappointed in Anchorage for not having more options for eating out on Thanksgiving, but it’s my on fault for not booking ahead. Regardless the food and staff at Fletcher’s was more than excellent in a pinch. The ambiance was stormy and full of a rich mahogany, very oceanic. For an appetizer I had a huge Martini, with gin & a twist, perfectly stirred, and served like a proper Martini should be, clear. So big I had that for dessert too. We jumped at the Mediterranean Seafood Salad(salmon, halibut & shrimp with English cucumbers, sundried tomatoes, red onions, mushrooms, Kalamata olives, pine nuts & feta cheese with a red wine vinaigrette) and the Grilled Halibut with Spinach Risotto. Finished off with the crème brûlée, which was passable. Overall very decent.

Stopped in here due to the Crow’s Nest being full and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the half order of spaghetti and meatballs and a glass of Chianti. The spaghetti and meatballs were decent, definitely better than most of the other food I’ve eaten around town, but still lacked a lot of flavor(was better after COVERING in chili flakes, bout a teaspoon of salt, and a ton of black pepper) and I felt the sauce was watered down. The Chianti was the best part of the experience and have returned since for just the wine. If this were in any other city I would probably give it 3 stars, but considering how awful the food here in Anchorage seems to be in general I’m giving it 4.

Fletcher’s is one of my favorite bars. It’s swanky, almost a speak-easy feel to it, but comfortable to be in & not at all stuffy. Their food is better-than-bar fair, and their drinks are reasonably priced. I’ve never had a bad time at Fletcher’s, and they accommodate large groups with relative ease. While I’ve had, and enjoyed, their food, I generally go to Fletcher’s for a beer or cocktail with friends. It’s a great bar, comfortable without being divey.

The food is very good and the service is friendly and attentive. Nice environment and good place to get a brew before heading out to town. I’ve had a burger and a pizza and both were tasty for basically bar food. My girl had the chop salad and swears by it.

The restaurant is in the Captain Cook hotel and I have usually eaten in the bar area though also in the restaurant part. It is pretty casual and probably patronized a lot by those staying at the hotel. I’ve had the chowder and fish specials when I’ve been there and they have been quite good. Service was okay, not excellent. I’ve had the pizza special a couple of times and it was pretty good. I’d say it is a good option if you are staying in the hotel. If you become a «member» at the Captain Cook hotel, you will get certificates in the mail for $ 25 off of a meal here and that is quite the deal.

Fletchers has a pub feel and a friendly atmosphere. I had the Lasagna, this time, the pasta is made from spinach, pretty good meal. The wait staff is very friendly. This restaurant serves the hotel guests. On weekends, I sstrongly suggest making reservations to eat here.

3 ½ STARS Lovely place in the Hotel Captain Cook. The pub-like ambiance and service are great. Sadly, the food doesn’t match it. I had the Caesar salad & it was average. I also had a ½ order if Spaghetti & Meatballs. It was on the limp side of al dente and the large meatballs were nice but flavorless. I liked the ambiance and my waitperson(Alicia) was professional and pleasant. This place could be a real winner, but it cries out for a proper chef in the kitchen.

I really enjoyed the ambiance of this restaurant; in a classic early 20th century style, complete with wood paneling, deep seated dining armchairs, sconce lighting and ornate metal ceiling adornments. I honestly felt like Rose Dawson from the movie Titanic. Surprisingly, the entrees are quite reasonable and affordable; I had the grilled prawns risotto for $ 14, with a glass of excellent wine($ 8). The service was very good. I would definitely bring back some friends who’ve never been to Anchorage.
