The food was great! I had the French toast and my husband had the country fried steak, both were delicious! I’ve lived in Alaska for a year now and this has to be the best breakfast I’ve had here. To top it off the service was outstanding and super friendly!!!

I arrived at 9am. Easy access to park, they have their own parking lot. The eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast were cooked to my request. There just was something off to the flavor. It was a strange taste of old oil or an oil I’m not used to. Not bad, just different. Fast friendly service.

Visited this small and cute breakfast café while in Anchorage. The server was very nice and checked on us often. I had the bacon omelette, which was really good. I would definitely visit here again.

What a great find. a cozy hole-in-the-wall diner with walls adorned with random nic-nacs to study while waiting for food! The waitress was super friendly. Obviously many of the guests were regulars. The food was great. I had Dylans special which was like eggs cooked in a waffle iron, over an english muffin, with great crispy hashbrowns. I’ll definitely be going back.

I loved it. The owners were very hospitable and friendly. They’re menu is simple and they made recommendations of their best sellers for breakfast. I ended up getting their cajun spiced country fried steak breakfast with pancakes included, $ 14. You guys, it was so delcious, I ordered one to go for lunch! :) in any case give them a try! I loved it and I’m a big Samoan guy who loves to eat so I know! Lol Enjoy!

Possibly one of the best comfort food breakfasts I’ve ever had in my life. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which came with 2 eggs, toast or pancakes(pony up the extra dollar for blueberry pancakes, they’re more than worth it), and delicious crispy hash browns. Oh, and a generous smothering of real sausage gravy. I’m from the south, so I have opinions about gravy. I meant to order the cajun chicken fried steak, but I didn’t realize they had a non-spicy option, so the server didn’t clarify which one I wanted and I sort of wish she had, but that’s not a big issue. Now I will know for next time! Boyfriend got the veggie omelet with jalapenos and chili on the side. The staff was super accommodating to his customizations and everything came out correctly. I had a sip of his coffee, which was good and comes in adorable mismatched mugs. Bonus points for having Tabasco on the table. The prices are typical for Anchorage, but you get so much food that it will easily generate enough leftovers for another meal(which are equally delicious). My only gripe is that it is a cash only establishment, which makes life difficult when you live in Alaska and use a bank that does not have any ATMs in the state. But there is an ATM in the convenience store next door, which has a $ 2 fee.

Food was amazing. Had the Anne’s(pancakes, hash browns, and eggs). The pancakes aren’t the IHOP made in bulk ones, these were homemade like my grandma used to make Saturday mornings. Our waitress Wendy was the sweetest person ever !! I will def be back!

Great experience and a beautiful place. Food is incredible but, the most important thing, is the feeling that you have when you see the pictures inside and when you receive this special way of the local people. Be aware, they don’t accept credit or debit cards. Only cash.

Still a great place for breakfast. I came here the other day for a breakfast reunion with cousins and my mom and sister. We all made up of 7 people. I ordered a veggie omelet with rye toast; I would have ordered pancakes, but since my mom is gluten free I got pancakes too. Did you know it is only $ 1 upcharge for blueberry pancakes? Now you do, so put that in your mouth. Your welcome. People in the party ranged from pancake sandwich to freedom fries and hash browns. All told the bill came to ~$ 80. I gave them a $ 20 dollar tip, even though they got my mom’s and cousin’s egg orders wrong. Apparently the cook thinks over easy means sunny side up. The girl’s bathroom looks like a grandmother’s bathroom; all flowery, stuff on the walls, crocheted doily on the back of the toilet, etc. I still miss seeing Granny B sling food. She had a great smile, the cutest pixie cut, and tattoo sleeves. I want to be her when I grow up. Also, I miss all the cute salt and pepper shakers, but all the f’n thieves made the establishment change them out to regular diner shakers. Ah well, still love you Granny B’s.

Perfect spot for a home cooked meal after church on Sunday. The blueberry pancakes and Cajun chicken fried steak were fantastic and the staff was nice and friendly. The décor has a very«historic Alaska» feel. Our new favorite hidden gem. Next time I hope to try the biscuits and gravy.

My favorite Alaskan breakfast restaurant. It’s a throwback to the ‘70s… Authentic breakfast food, nice servers, and never a wait(despite being a very small restaurant). Everything on the menu is delicious– *BONUSTIP: Try the blueberry pancakes

Ladies and gentlemen we have a winner! This place has set my new standard for diners. I love it. I would marry this diner for its personality alone. Awesome Alaskan patrons? Check. Local feel? Check. Goofy, quirky, fun? Check Food is pro level, whoever is working the kitchen is not using your generic dinner pancake mix. High quality home cooking goodness. At affordable prices. Pancakes = amazing Coffee = pretty damn good Is there wifi? Nope and there shouldn’t be, there’s a TV playing the price is right and it’s awesome. Cash only but it’s worth it since its a friggin privilege to eat here. The staff omg the staff, have you ever seen a server in perpetual motion? Literally jogging between the kitchen and the customers like an endurance athlete. Give them your hard earned money, right MEOW Did you notice it has the best name ever? Bonus points…

Skipped the Breakfast at the hotel… no one was sitting there and I decided to seek out some«real food»! This is a gem– friendly, locally owned, real blueberry pancakes, jalapeño omelette, good black coffee, side of bacon and generous portions ! What a find in Anchorage-worth seeking out! Tips: Bring CASH, the blueberry pancakes stuffed w. blueberries are a must! Share your food and enjoy!

Solid breakfast food and relatively inexpensive as well. The pancakes were cooked absolutely perfectly, with that slight crunch on the edges that I love. Hash browns were also crunchy with perfect texture — just as good as Snow City Café’s although perhaps not as good-looking. The waitress was a lively, elderly woman who kept our experience interesting.

My family and I went to granny bees today and it was awesome! The best hole in the wall for breakfast and lunch! There sweet ice tea was so good! And they treat their customers very well! Make sure to bring cash they do not accept debit/credit cards and if you forget their is a ATM machine next door. I got a veggie omlet with hash brown and pancakes and it was just right. Not to much food or to little will be going again!

Visitng Anchorage for the first time and found this place on Unilocal.Very glad I did! For the prices this place can’t be beat. It’s a small and quaint place full of eclectic decorations. Nothing fancy about this place, but for the prices the food was very good. My boyfriend and I had breakfast here and they had HOMEMADE biscuits with a sausage and bacon gravy. Yum! One of the most important things I noticed were all the condiments on the table were clean! No disgusting fingerprints or old sauced hands from previous diners before. This is important for me as a fellow server. It means they take care of the little things. Things to know: ~ They do not accept debit or credit cards, but there is an atm right by them. ~ They do not accept $ 100 bills. ~ They DO offer free cookies!!! This place is a must try if you are looking for a nice home cooked meal, good prices, and great service.

*CASHONLY* WOW! A true«diamond in the rough»(I need to get a new idiom, I’ve been using and abusing this one too much lately), Granny B’s doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the inside is warm, charming, and inviting. Granny B’s is a diner with a home-cooked touch. Yes, I know, almost all diners *say* they are all about«home cookin’» with various plagues on the walls. But the food ends up always being a bit generic. NOT here! You can get pancakes instead of toast, which is something commonly found at Denny’s and occasionally at a mom n’ pop diner. The pancakes here are very, very good. They are some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had. These are unique, rich, and… even a bit crusty. Which is usually not a word I’d use to describe pancakes but they really do have a unique and satisfying texture too them. I got blueberries in them, and they were real-deal blueberries… and pretty big ones at that. I should say after describing how blown away by the pancakes I was, that I’m not a «pancake guy» by nature. I rarely order them unless they come with something. The woman who served me was very welcoming, I felt like I was eating at a B&B in someone’s house, except I didn’t have to pay to stay the night! I can’t give this place 5-stars though, because it’s cash only. It’s just a standard I’ve set for myself. If you frequently carry cash(I do not), you can go ahead and read this as a 5-star establishment.

A hole in the wall restaurant. Tried their special which consisted of diced ham, scrambled eggs, and cheese with hash browns. If you’re a ham lover, you’ll love this because every bite has about four to five diced ham pieces. I like ham, but it was a bit too much for me. Pay a dollar extra to get their blueberry pancakes. It’s really good. Smother the butter and drizzle some syrup… oh yeah. Tried some of my cousin’s omelet and I liked it better than my special. I think price wise it’s a little up there. Oh, and food takes a while to come out.
