Arguably the best Mexican place in Eagle River and maybe even Anchorage and the Valley. Other places’ chips fall short or the portions are not up to par, Jalapeños does it right. And, as a big plus, they don’t screw with the margaritas– they are strong and you’ll feel content with just one.

This place is AWESOME. I lived in New Mexico for 10 years, so I’ve had my share of great Mexican food. The only thing I’d change is their sopapillas; they’re small and dense like a donut and come with more ice cream than honey. They’re tasty! They’re just not sopapillas.

My family and I headed to Jalapenos after my brother and I finished the Eagle River Triathlon. I immediately went for the Beer-garita, which tasted delicious. The mini coronas that they prop up in the glass are so cute! The service at the restaurant was incredible! I feel like the average restaurant service in Alaska is pretty terrible so it was nice to have a server who always had our drinks filled and our chips and salsa full on the table, despite the place being pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the chicken fajitas and I thought they were quite tasty. It was a huge order and I was only able to eat two fajitas, but I took the rest to go and my boyfriend ate them for lunch the next day and said they were good even reheated.
