My coworker was craving Thai so we came here for lunch. We arrived before the rush(11:30AM) so we ordered and got our food very quickly. The menu has every plate rated for spiciness(the more stars the spicier the plate is) and the curries are color coded(yellow, green, and red). I picked a 3-star red curry(forgot the name!) and it was so good! The portions were also very filling. They also give you a choice of brown or white rice. My coworker ordered a fried rice and there was so much food he’d be able to feed a family of four. He got a doggy bag and ate the rest of his fried rice for dinner. I also left my credit card on the table and the server chased me on my way back from Starbucks to return the card to me. That was very sweet of her. M

Still great food. Always satisfied. I eat this for two days. It keeps well in the fridge. I steam for lunch at work. Idk who could really say this food is salty or bad. It’s called FLAVOR. It’s NEVER too salty. Fresh veggies. Lean meat. True comfort food. I swear whenever I feel slightly off. This place puts me right.

Meh. The service was fine. They seemed like nice people. The wait for the food was about average. The atmosphere was ok. Nothing special. Location was good — downtown Anchorage. It was walking distance from most things. Food was meh. Not bad, not great. Menu was small, but it had all the basics. I had drunken noodles which were mediocre. The fresh rolls were better: about average. If you’re hungry, it works. If you’re looking for good, authentic Thai, I believe you can do better.

I like this place. Great location downtown, right on 4th Ave. Easy to get to and easy to find. So many places do not make it here. I am glad this is still around. For starters it is very clean. It has a well laid out dining room. The tables are not too close together at all. The big glass windows show a beautiful view from both sides. It is nicely decorated but, not over done. They even have a nice long bar you can sit at and dine if you choose, but I love the view outside, so I like to look out the widows. I like to get food to go from here as well. My favorites are the Yellow curry and the Thai soup. Always piping hot, and still hot when I get back to my Diggs. Service is good. I never wait very long at all. It is one of the great places to come when you are craving Thai!

You can’t really go wrong with Thai, and this place hit the spot, too bad it has to be stuck in a horrible little mall in a touristy strip. On the other hand it classes up the rest of the joint quite a bit, good for myThai! The food was just right after walking on the ice.

Just ordered to have delivered to my house. Pad Thai tasted like noodles mixed with tomato sauce and hot pepper flakes. Noodles stuck together like they have been sitting out for a while. Didn’t get a single vegetable. We ordered another noodle dish with shrimp and got A couple shrimp that were not fresh. Noodles stuck together. I never thought I would try Thai food that I did not like but this was just not good.

My meal: 50% missing(as in where is the other half of the dish I just paid $ 13 for?!) 15% salt 15% oil 20% pretty good tofu and veggies Parking impossible unless you park behind the yellow building off 3rd. So the food was worth maybe one more try but the hassle wasn’t.

I love this restaurant! As a frequent customer, I’ve never experienced such a great Thai host(the owner). She is great and if you want to eat healthy, tasty, no MSG, with good atmosphere, this is the place. One thing, if you like spicy food or its an acquired taste, they can adjust the spice setting to your preference. I found that the papaya salad can be made Laotian style, which is delicious. The crab rangoon and the thai wings are my favorite appetizers. Good beer menu too! :)

I was super excited when I got a call from a friend staying downtown and wanting to try myThai because I had heard a few times how great it is. Not so much for me. The positives– The location is EASY to find. Big Yellow building(sunshine mall for you locals). The interior is clean, and nicely decorated. The windows on two sides of the restaurant make for lots of light and great people watching. Fresh spring roll and peanut sauce was tasty too. The negatives– The service is SLLLLOOOOOWWWW; when on lunch break without a beer or glass of wine to hold you over, that is not such a good thing. I ordered the garlic chicken lunch. It came cold and about 30 minutes after we ordered. I had to get it to go so I could get back to work. I can say when warmed up for dinner it was tasty.

The best Thai I have found in Anchorage so far. The location is convenient for days downtown and the inside is well ordered. I will be back.

Food was OK, service was lousy. Four people served at four different times… 15 minutes between 1st& last. Ridiculous. Also, I’ve never been to an Asian restaurant where they didn’t know what hoisin sauce was!

My Thai isn’t bad. But, it’s not really good either. It food. I had their Pad Thai and it is goopy. I think Pad Thai noodles shouldn’t be a sticky clumpy. I also don’t think it should be gritty. It wasn’t sandy gritty, more like a soft grit. However, it did taste ok. Service was also good, but it was pretty slow in there. My server was also very nice. Hence an upgrade to the rating.

I love this place! The food consistently exceeds my expectations. I’ve probably tried every Thai spot in Anchorage and this is my favorite! The food is delicious and authentic. If it’s your first time here order green or red curry. And a Thai Iced Tea. Take Out is as good as dining in. The food is still hot when you got home. The service is exceptional! One time my card wasn’t working(the horror. So stressful). The owner was so kind and trusting that she let me take my food back to work, eat lunch and then come back with cash later that day. I still can’t believe how kind and understanding she was about that. The first time I tried MyThai she gave me free Thai Coffee, just because! Truly a lovely woman who cares about her customers. My favorite Thai restaurant in Alaska!

I believe MyThai has changed owners. Had I written this review a year ago, I would be giving a better review, because the service and food were much better then. I went with a friend on our hour lunch break. There was only one other table occupied. We didn’t leave until an hour and fifteen minutes later. We ordered corn cakes for an app. They were chewy and stale-tasting, like they had been microwaved. 20 minutes after we had ordered our meals, the server came back to tell me that the vegetarian lunch special menu that I had ordered from had been discontinued and would I like the entrée instead? The whole point of ordering from the lunch special was to not pay $ 14 for a plate, but I was hungry so I said that was fine. My friend gets her meal. 15 minutes later I get mine — and it’s swimming in grease and fish sauce. I inform the server that I cannot eat this(I am vegetarian and have had adverse reactions on my mouth when I’ve accidentally consumed fish sauce) and I was so irritated, I decided to not order anything since an hour had already passed. Upon leaving, they graciously removed my meal(that I sent back) from the check, but my friend very kindly said, «Hey, it wasn’t cool that we had to wait so long and now she doesn’t even get to eat a lunch. Could you at least comp the appetizer?» The server was incredibly flustered, like that was a bizarre request, but after consulting the owner she just comped the whole bill. That was nice, but in customer service, should not have been prompted. I will not return.

Celiacs beware. I am a frequent Anchorage visitor and this is my first time at My Thai. I had the yellow curry with chicken and white rice, garlic chicken stir fry(made gluten free), fresh rolls(made with rice instead of noodles), and jasmine tea. I have spent the last 24 hours in the bed with stomach pains and diarrhea. I will not be back.

What a disaster. My Thai LOOKS like it should be a great restaurant. It’s got a cool layout, lots of nice natural light and has a great downtown location. But the service… my gawd the service was horrible. I’m pretty sure the whole staff was stone. I have never seen such a slow moving bunch of folk looking confused all in one location. Drinks came out promptly, albeit the wrong ones… It took 35 minutes just for our order to be taken. Food took another 25 minutes beyond that. My yellow chicken curry with potatoes confused me. The curry sauce was amazing, the food that was in it was a disgrace. I’m pretty sure the chicken and the potatoes were just boiled and then tossed in the curry seconds before serving. The meat and potatoes had NO flavor and the chicken was chalky and slightly over cooked. And since I’m pretty sure that this is how it was prepared, it should have been on the table in under 5 minutes. The other thing that was SOBIZARRE is that orders come out ONE AT A TIME. The chef only makes one plate and sends it out, leaving everyone else at the table to wait. I watched a table of 7 each wait for their plate seperately. By the time diner #7 got his food, diner #1 was done. They clearly need to get more food prep people in the kitchen and less confused servers in the dining room. The size of this restaurant is small enough that one competant server could manage the whole dining room. This place needs some much better management or it’s going to fail, which is a shame, because their sauces are amazing.

Family owned, this restaurant is an absolute jewel to Downtown and to Anchorage overall. I had one of the best pad Thais of my life. Freshly remodeled in 4th Avenue mall with a modern touch it showcases some exquisite Thai woodwork! The service is friendly and makes you feel welcome immediately. The true Thai hospitality. The food is amazing! Everyone in my group of six was extremely delighted with the quality and quantity of the food. I shall return!!! And I will so very soon. Dinner anyone?
