They offer a clean and friendly dining experience. My water glass was often refilled and the food was wonderful and full of flavor.

I like it… but I don’t. While their food is delicious, namely their phở of course, I can’t help but always feel extremely rushed. The workers here seem to want to get you in and get you out ASAP. I get that they want to move tables but it’s irritating feeling like you have to scarf down a huge bowl of hot soup in just minutes. On a happier note, I recently tried their Tom Yum soup. It’s a Thai soup made with lemon grass. I think they use they’re phở broth because it had a hint of phở flavor. This was the best Tom Yum I’ve ever had! Overall it’s good. It’s popular so be prepared to wait during rush times(lunch and dinner). They do take out!

This place was packed. While we were sitting in the waiting area a server came up and asked us for our order which was weird. A friends phở came out first. I didn’t get a chance to try the phở, but a friend ordered a banh mi and I ordered the banh xeo. The banh mi came out about 5 minutes after the phở. By the time they were almost finished eating my banh xeo came out and it was so soggy and so gross.

Another solid, if unremarkable, phở house in Anhorage. Phở Vietnam has many locations throughout Anchorage, and this seems to be the original.(?) This phở house is unique in that their main specialty seems to be… phở.(some other phở places seem to feature many Thai/Laotian dishes as well. In fact, sometimes the phở can take a back seat) They’ve got all the classic phở variations you could think of, and you’ve got all the various accoutrements at your table. Prices are ~$ 10, standard for Anchorage. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area and need some tasty soup.

My boyfriend got Phở Seafood and loved it. I got the Chicken Pad Thai and was disappointed. It was edible for sure but it was very bland. I added a slew of the condiments that were on the table and it didn’t help. It wasn’t spicy or flavorful in any way. The appetizer we ordered came after our entrees. We were out of water multiple times. The service could definitely improve. Not the worst place I’ve ever been but far from the best.

Having eaten in many a Vietnamese restaurant in the Bay Area this review may be a bit harsh. I was hungry for a taste of home and saw the Unilocal reviews for this place. Overall I can only give it a fair rating. I ordered the chicken phở with clear noodles and a side of egg rolls the soup in itself was not bad the portion was small compared to the Bay Area size portion the disappointing thing was the fish sauce. Instead of the usual light vinaigrette style this was a sugar based sauce more like a sweet and sour you would find in a Chinese restaurant. I don’t think I’ll come back to this place but it was worth the try.

I’ve been here in anchorage for about 6 months now… tried out two different phở places. Both were not up to my standards… Today, I try this place out and I am impressed. Food: Soup was on point… has that good phở taste all phở lovers know and love. Meat plentiful and noodles cooked perfectly right(I had some soggy noodles before, not good!). price, eh. $ 12 for what looks like a large(they only have one size). I guess it’s worth it since they load up the meat! However, I’m still used to paying around $ 8 for phở. I guess the average price in alaska is about $ 10 – 12 :( Service: Despite the fact that they make customers/strangers share tables, which was a bit awkward AND he didn’t ask the lady if it was cool with her, service was good. But, because of that awkwardness, I have to take a star away. –1 Overall: I am DEFINITELY coming back!

First time coming here. I called in my order for pick up. My order was ready and waiting for me when I walked in 10 minutes later. Fast service was a plus. The problem was when I walked up to the front to pick up my food I was standing there for about 3 minutes looking stupid. They clearly saw me walk in and waiting there. Finally one lady came out still shoveling food in her mouth(which grossed me out and not to mention very unprofessional). She handed me the food and I handed her the money. She walked into the back again for my 50 cents change which she then practically threw at me. HORRIBLE customer service. As far as the food, it was alright. The broth in the phở could’ve had more flavor and the shrimp in the fresh rolls didn’t taste very fresh. They tasted like salt water. There’s other better phở places around so I probably won’t come back here.

Good food, used to be my favorite. Love the spring rolls, banh mi sandwich and the papaya salad. I don’t like that they may sit others in your table if they get super busy! Weird! And also the feeling of always being rushed

Damn good bowl of Phở. I ordered the Phở(pronounced FUH) combo and it was very tasty and quick to arrive.

This place is always packed, but they almost always can squeeze you in some where. This place is quick, fast and delicious. I always get the rare steak phở and all phở places and sometimes we get the fried egg rolls too. They serve the egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce instead of the mild fish sauce you get at some other phở places. This is very solid and our phở go-to place. We have been here at least 3 times in the past few months. It’s just good, fast phở… Nothing fancy or excess. The staff is friendly and efficient. I’ve been to 2 other phở places and this one takes the top spot so far!

Delicious phở and spring rolls. The only annoying thing about this place is the rushed atmosphere. I’ve been here probably 30+ times so they remember me. I have learned that in order to get what I want in seating I have to be firm with them. They were determined to sit my party of three and I at the table by the door in February and I said no. They seemed frustrated and kept trying to usher us over there but I refused to sit at that table. They then had us sit at a small table for two and brought us a third chair, but at least this one was away from the door. Once again, the food is very very good. But expect them to be pushy and to try and rush you. Personally, I always take as much time as I would like and they will just have to deal with it, especially for $ 12 per bowl of phở.

I’m knocking it down two stars for one main reason: sticky rice. Let me start by saying, I love Phở Vietnam & I frequent the midtown & Jewel Lake. These guys are Vietnamese & the cuisine is kick ass(I’ve spent time in Vietnam, its as good as it gets)…however the other day at the Jewel Lake location, she charged me 5 bucks for a teeny tiny bag of sticky rice. Listen, I know the s**t is pre-cooked, divided into a small zip-loc bag & microwaved when ordered. That’s cool, I love sticky rice. I’ll eat it any day over regular rice but to charge a customer 5DOLLARS is an insult to the customer. I guess shame on me for ordering it without doing the research but c’mon! FYI — a huge bag of «Sweet Rice» aka sticky rice is available at Sagaya for 3.99. End rant.

I believe I have mentioned elsewhere my food naïveté when it comes to phở restaurants. So, I can’t speak from much experience or knowledge about the cuisine, just from my taste preferences. The phở here is good but not my favorite in town. They have good fresh spring rolls. But where this place excels is the Bahn Mi, the most surprisingly wonderful sandwich. Perfect, crunchy vegetables no matter the time of year and the best, most wonderful bread, an excellent baguette that really makes the sandwich something special. It’s the best I’ve had, and will have again, in town. The service is fast, and they can get you in and out if you need. The staff is always pleasant and efficient. It’s small and often packed with committed customers. Best to hit them off the main lunch hours, but even if you go at noon, you can get seated fairly quickly.

Wow. They seriously upped their game since last I was here. The food was absolutely excellent. I mean SOGOOD. I think it’s the only place where I have EVER gotten a perfect ratio of veggies to noodles to broth. The service, while not perfect and still definitely a little weird, has vastly improved. There’s a lot of yummy stuff to choose from on their menu, too.

One of my favorite places in town to grab a bowl of phở. I come here a couple of times a month with my girlfriend. We are always welcomed warmly and offered any available table. We usually order the same thing, and without asking we have water brought out, shortly followed by their delicious fresh spring rolls. Our soup is always brought out in less than 10 minutes, maybe a bit longer if they are really busy(which they can be). Friendly staff that remembers their regulars, delicious food, speedy service! What more can you ask for?

Pretty decent experience and food. I would say that the phở dishes are a little pricey for what they are. The waitstaff was great, except they were refreshing the condiments and chopsticks right when we were eating, instead of doing it after we had left the table like a considerate and experienced waitstaff would do.

I really like the phở here. My favorite phở here is the seafood combo. The spring rolls can be better. But I really like this place, sometimes there’s been weird incident of hair being the bean sprouts and cilantro and basil. Service can be off sometimes, but it’s a small family run business. So I went here yesterday and this review has been in my draft section for a couple of months since I live out of state now. But the broth wasn’t that hot(temperature wise). I was a bit disappointed. It wasn’t as god as I remembered. But maybe it was just one of those off days.

Phở Vietnam has one of the tastiest broths I’ve had in a while. Definitely surprised that Alaska has a decent phở place! But I’m still not used to paying $ 10+ dollars for a bowl of phở compared to the $ 6 bowl of phở in Cali. The regular bowl is a decent size. However, the amount of noodles inside the bowl is pretty small. I suggest adding additional noodles if you’re hungry! I could probably even get by without adding any extra condiments besides chili oil into the broth! That’s how tasty the broth is!
