First time here at the Twin Dragon. $ 15.99 for dinner buffet… to me that is way too expensive for the little variety of items that they have. For a few bucks more you have triple the amount of items at China Lights. The food is not amazing but it’s good, the place is clean and the customer service is awesome. I only give 3 stars because of the price.

I love this place! The Mongolian bbq is so fresh, they have the best egg drop soup, and you won’t find friendlier staff in Anchorage!

Customer service was superb, the hostess was super enthusiastic and helpful. The food was not that great to me, we got the frozen stuff that they cook on the circular grill. It was great to watch but the sodium levels were a bit too high for me. My co-workers swear by this place, but this is my review and I do not. I will not return, the saving grace for this review was the great customer service and OK sesame chicken.

Not bad. They seem to care a little more than most about cleanliness and food prep. First time I had EVER seen a place take food off because it had gotten dry/old. I’ll keep coming here and here only for Mongolian BBQ /Buffet.

The food is typical Chinese buffet-fare and is delicious! I also enjoy the Mongolian bbq too. We’ve visited it each time we’ve traveled to Anchorage and will continue to do so.

It was unique to have your food cooked in front of you; however, it was quite a long wait as there was only one cook. The soup was cold. I felt the meal was over-priced. Having an additional cook during busier times and making this a bit more affordable would make me want to return.

Finally fresh VEGETABLES in Anchorage! An excellent Mongolian BBQ. The Chinese buffet was good to and they have a salad bar. The price is great too. The only reason I did not five 5 stars is the sauce selection is limited and they want to apply the sauces. They also lack the usual assortment of sessame seeds, garlic powder, curry etc. to put on the cooked dish. As good as any in the SF Bay Area and better than some. I will make this a regular stop when I am here.

I went there by myself on a Sunday afternoon, they said they had no seats for a ‘party of one.’ Pretty poor business practice to turn away paying customers. I’ll never go there again.

I like the Mongolian BBQ here. The choices are good and so are the sauces. The buffet food is not the best, but the doughnuts are great. Good salad bar selection as well. I like that it is convenient to my neighborhood, and a good choice over delivery or fast food when I don’t feel like cooking.

Look I know first impression of a restaurant can make or break a deal but this place is something special. So get past the look from the outside and quite frankly get past the décor on the inside. I’m not talking about their buffet because let’s be honest a buffet is a buffet is buffet down and dirty flavorless food to feed the masses but their seasoned grill and the chef who operates it is a beautiful thing. They make all of the food in front of you to your taste specifically, so if you post something about it being flavorless that’s because you didn’t order it correctly and that’s on you not them.

Like others have said before me the Mongolian bbq side food is way better than the Chinese buffet side. Unfortunately, you have to wait quite a while to get your bowl cooked for Mongolian bbq. It is good, but you have to wait and it’s about 40 – 60 sec per person in front of you. We were there on Friday night and there was only 1 cook doing the Mongolian, they should really have 2! I wouldn’t waste too much stomach space on the buffet on the other side, but just get a few items while you wait for the Mongolian and you have to stay in line or your bowl might get pushed to the side. Try to go early to avoid the wait.

Mongolian Barbecue was excellent! Would’ve been nice if two were cooking for quicker service but it was worth waiting for. I’m not a buffet person so I didn’t try it but definitely going back for Mongolian Barbecue. Would’ve gave it a better rating if it was a cleaner environment, don’t get me wrong it wasn’t obviously dirty just needs an extra good spring cleaning like all places. Maybe it was the lighting, it seemed too dark.

Good place first time here and didn’t leave hungry… I ate here for lunch because I had craving for Mongolian grill but tried some of the Chinese buffet and everything I had was really good. I would give it 5 stars but it’s hard to give a Mongolian style joint 5 stars so I settled for 4 Great value!

There was a lot of hype about this place before I tried it so maybe my expectations were a little too high for it but comparing it to other Mongolian BBQ places I’ve been to this one is par at best I wasn’t that impressed with food selection or quality I’m not saying don’t go there but definitely don’t set your expectations too high when you go in it won’t be my first choice but I’ll probably go there again under the right circumstances

Twin Dragons is a legendary Anchorage eatery that has a wonderful selection of meats, vegetables and starches to offer it’s customers. The Twin Dragons«jingle» still loops in my head and is as recognizable to the locals as to visitors. The food is hot and fresh and prepared by a friendly, smiling staff that is very helpful. Great place for dinner!

Second and last visit for me. The mongolian bbq was ok, nothing special. The chinese buffet is gross and would not replenish nearly empty pans, which I think they should considering Im paying $ 16.95 per person. Staff were too busy strategically rearranging and spreading the food in the buffet to make it look fuller instead of refilling our drinks. Another issue is the cold soup, one type of soup(egg drop) in a small bowl. Other Chinese restaurants in the area serve at least two types of soups and it is in the buffet line. I do NOT recommend this place. 2 stars for the mongolian bbq, no star for the Chinese food.

I always drive past this place, so I was finally able to give it a try. I love Mongolian BBQ and theirs is pretty decent. The only thing I didn’t really like was that their noodles are different from the typical Mongolian BBQ noodles. The ones here taste almost like spaghetti noodles. I like the thick yellow noodles. The one thing I did appreciate was the sauces. I went with the Szechuan sauce, extra spicy with their garlic sauce. So bomb! It’s all you can eat so no need to pack your bowls tight. They have the typically meats and veggies you find at any other Mongolian BBQ spot. However, they also have another buffet section with appetizers such as cream cheese wontons, kimchi and chicken wings. You’ll definitely leave here full. Not bad for $ 12.99 for lunch and $ 14.99 for dinner!

A little nostalgia. Lived nearby a decade ago and ate here quite a bit. Somehow it came up in conversation and my kids wanted to try. Food is NOT high end by any means. Only one or two stars for the buffet Chinese. But the Mongolian BBQ was exactly as I remembered. Personally probably should be a four star in my book, but don’t want to mislead anyone into thinking its fancy food. Atmosphere is dark and a tad dingy… same as it was a decade ago. But for $ 15 all you can eat, it’s pretty dang good. Kids were happy, and they ate two bowls which half was fresh vegetables. How can you complain. A tip I learned a long time ago is to tell them to take it easy on the soy sauce. You can always add it later and at least in the past, I suspect they loaded up the food with soy sauce so it’s too salty to eat much. Not a bad strategy for an all you can eat place. I recommend, but don’t be expecting any high end cuisine but it’s quite edible and filling!

Revisited Twin Dragon. Still love the made-to-order Mongolian grill, but my goodness the buffet is sheer crap. Steer clear of that garbage and enjoy the make your own!

I’ve been reading some positive reviews recently about this place, and I’v been anxious to try it. Two friends and I decided to give it a go, and we were pleasantly surprised. Okay, it’s not the type of high end place that I usually gravitate towards, but for its type, it is definitely four star. There’s something for everyone here. I noticed a variety of clientele from all walks of life. One price of $ 14.99 gets you all you can eat of both the buffet and the build your own stir fry that they cook for you. If you have a particular palate, there is plenty of quality fare on the buffet tables to choose from. I love authentic Kim Chi and the owner herself makes the best I’ve had in a very long time! I ate a whole plate of the stuff! Fresh, spicy, and full of ginger and garlic just how I love it. I had a generous portion of peel and eat shrimp that were larger than I expected, and my stir fry was very good. This place has been in business under the same owner for 21 years with a staff that’s very friendly. My friends and I will definitely be back!
