University Lake Dog Park

Great dog park by the lake! It’s right on an extensive trail system (great if you’re a runner, biker, etc.). We take our dog here frequently, and she always has a great time interacting with other dogs of all sizes that are brought there. In the summer, she learned how to swim in the lake, and now that the lake is frozen, it’s increased the area for her and other dogs to run around, play fetch, etc.
Please keep in mind this is an off-​leash dog park. If your dog is not well behaved or doesn’t get along with other dogs, you might want to keep them on a leash.
This is really a great place to exercise and socialize your dog, while taking in the great views of the mountains and lake. It’s one of the many great things about Alaska!

Good dog park. Our fur babies love it. The trail around the lake is lovely and well marked. Please be cognizant of other dog owners and especially your dog (s). Accidents and incidents are prevented by proactive owners!!! Also be wary of beavers. Other than that, about the best time in Anchorage for free!
