I hear Denny’s no longer allows smoking at this restaurant. Yay! I shall be back.

Not a Denny’s or IHOP fan to be honest but my in-laws wanted to treat my wife and I to brunch and well, Denny’s is one of their faves so… When we arrived we were immediately seated which I thought was great since it was Sunday and all. The restaurant was really huge, clean and pretty«stylish» if that makes sense. They have huge murals of Clemson football games on the walls, pretty cool. Anyway, our waitress seated us at a booth in the very back of the we all scooted in it was obvious that the table was in pretty bad shape. The booth wobbled like a Top! I mean I’ve sat at some wobbly tables before but this was seriously wobblyyyyy, I was afraid I’d spill my coffee into my lap and leave the restaurant with third degree burns. Our waitress said not to worry because she had an idea that would help and she slipped away for a second. When she returned she was carrying a handful of coasters and proceeded to duck under the table to prop it up with them. What?!! Allow me to be politically incorrect for a second and say that that was seriously GHETTO! Too bad her efforts were in vain though because the coasters didn’t work and our table was still very wobbly. But there weren’t any tables left so we were out of luck. While I drank coffee, everyone else opted for water but I thought it was strange that when our waitress brought out their waters she didn’t bring me one. Most restaurants provide water for everyone at the table whether you request it or not so I was pretty surprised when she brought out three waters instead of four just because I didn’t specifically request it. And she never even asked if I’d like some. Okayyy. We ordered our breakfast, the food came out fairly quickly and was steaming hot. My father in law LOVED his sausage skillet(not sure what it’s called), my wife’s omelet was okay and my mother in law liked her pancakes. I had the French toast slam but when the waitress brought out my plate she quickly rested it in front of me and ran away calling over her shoulder something that I couldn’t make out. «Okkayy» I yelled after her although I had no idea what she said. When she reemerged she said that she was trying to tell me that she’d forgotten one slice of my French toast so she brought it out on a separate plate. It wasn’t cut or dressed in butter and powdered sugar like the ones already on the plate… nope, it just sat there lonely, uncut and naked on its own little plate. They tasted good though but my eggs had absolutely no flavor and my bacon wasn’t crispy at all… it was stringy and cold and chewy and basically everything bacon shouldn’t be. My only cup of coffee ran out a long time before my meal did but I never got a refill until it was time to leave. :/Oh yeah, remember how I talked about not having water? Well I repeatedly asked for some… repeatedly…but took a good three requests to actually get it. Wasn’t too thrilled with this experience but you can’t beat the price with a stick though! Our bill was less than $ 40 for all four of us! I still can’t believe it, my wife and I usually spend twice that on just the two of us and that’s on a good day! Lol.

The service was pretty good, got seated pretty quickly and the servers were attentive and friendly. The food was really good. The building is a little bit out dated but I noticed they plan on starting renovations this month. One other issue was a slight problem with some ants at our booth but thankfully they mostly stayed near the wall avoiding my food. Although I informed management about this issue so hopefully they will have that problem resolved shortly

The wait staff was friendly and the food was not bad. It took a little while to come, but we were able to entertain ourselves with crayons. About what you’d expect from Dennys.

3.5 stars. Denny’s is not that bad of a restaurant as some people would have you to believe. They have a menu with a lot of different options. Their breakfast is very good also. I love their burgers, omelettes, and skillets.
