Ahhhh Fazolis. Great breadsticks! Honestly, the breadsticks are definitely the reason I go to Fazolis. I usually find the pasta to be just okay. The pizza is very good, and it’s a nice add on to a combo meal.

It was raining and windy from the residue of Hurricane Ike so I didn’t want to drive far but had been holed up all day and was getting pretty hungry by 6pm. I headed out for Ponderosa Steakhouse’s Buffet but when I saw the Fazoli’s, which was much closer, I decided to pull in here. I had been wanting to try it. They were having a special on Sampler Platters so I got the one with Ravioli, Fettuccine Alfredo, Crispy Chicken and steamed broccoli for $ 5.99. It didn’t look like a lot of food at first but I was pretty full by the time I was done. It came with all you can eat bread sticks and they were really good. So was the chicken. The Alfredo sauce was good but the noodles were a little too al dente for my taste. The broccoli was great, the ravioli might have been a little overcooked – had a bit of a pasty flavor. The marinara sauce was pretty good, too. There was a Parmesan cheese shaker on the table so you could put as much as you wanted on. I liked that. I do wish we had Fazoli’s in San Diego – drive thru pasta would be nice, fast food or not.
