Best BBQ in town. The portions are huge and the BBQ and sides are delicious. The servers are really nice and always try to accommodate your needs. A great selection of sauces to choose from.

Awesome place for casual bbq. Big portions. Great flavors. 4 kinds of sauce(Pigs Regular, Pigs Hot, Carolina Red and Carolina Mustard), all of which are good choices. Too good to decide on just one. Sides have lots of flavor and size as well. Open since 1965 and the décor has a very nostalgic feel, including the outside restrooms with the keys on the wall and the full body White-tailed Deer on the dining room. Definitely coming back.

Maybe the absolute worst BBQ I have ever had and some of the worst service. The restaurant does not seem clean and is in a really shady part of town.

Institution? My Ol’man has ate here when it first opened. I’m a midland’s yellow sauce guy, but the BBQ sandwich was huge and good. I didn’t see the sauces until I was done, but would have like to try them. Rest of my family(who live in Anderson) got their burgers. Large portions for moderate price. Old school vibe. The feel of what a Carolina BBQ joint should be!

We were visiting from California for family reunion. My sister-in-law and I split the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries. The portion was big enough and we still had leftover fries. Recommend ordering it without sauce so that you can add your own sauce. They have the mustard, house hot and sweet BBQ sauce available. All very good. We also ordered the dried pickles which came out piping hot and so very delicious. Comes with ranch dressing but we used the BBQ sauces mixed together. Husband ordered the BBQ Sandwich plate which came with freshly made beans that had shredded pork mixed in and delicious coleslaw. We obviously loved it and the service was so what we expected … Southern Hospitality at its best!

Little pigs barbeque was a big disappointment for me, what the other reviewers saw in this place I don’t know. Food is average at best, have to order your food at the counter, tables are uncomfortible to sit at. So I’d pass at looking up this place unless you want alot of ave pulled pork BBQ.

Yuck! I have never had BBQ like this before, it was like baby food. The sauces were terrible and you had to get your drinks from a vending machine. For some this may be a trip down memory lane but for me it was not.

Little Pigs B.B.Q. is Anderson is a real groovy place to visit. It is the same in there as it was in the early 1970‘s when I was a kid growing up in Anderson and my dad would take me there! They still hace the same retro Pepsi Machines and tables!!! This South Carolina Style B.B.Q. is very unique. It is vinger based and I have known many folks who drive long distances to go to the Little Pigs in Anderson. The style is different and better that B.B.Q. in Georgia and North Carolina. Little Pigs gives you nice big helpings and their slaw is real good too. Their sauce is the best B.B.Q. sauce that I have ever tasted. This place is a big hertiage part of Downtown Anderson. I am glad that it stays the same for all of the young people to see. By the way, the same couple owns and operates Little Pigs that has been doing it since the 1960‘s. God bless them and this local Anderson treasure!

There are places I have come across in my travels that I feel I can do no justice. Little Pigs Barbecue of Anderson is one of those places. I don’t know if it is the history, the family or the food. All I do know is that Little Pigs has the perfect mix of all three. As always this experience was more about the journey there. Basically today was terrible. I am in the middle of moving my apartment, I have to travel to South Carolina in the middle of it and to top it off the job I am on is canceled and i have to wait til Sunday to leave. I wasn’t too happy to say the least. I got back to my hotel room and plopped down in front of my trusty laptop and begin to look for good old fashioned southern BBQ. I put in Anderson, SC and Little Pigs popped up. There were a few mixed reviews. Some good, some bad. Those of you out there that posted bad things are out of your minds and just don’t get it. On to the restaurant. As we, myself and my brother-in-law, pulled in we noticed that there was an old Chevy truck in front and if any one knows where to find good BBQ it’s a guy in a beat up old truck. We walked up and got what I can only call a glimpse of BBQ heaven. Now for the history. This BBQ shop was opened in 1965 by Joe and Katherine Dukes and has remained a family business 43 years later. Actually to say this is a family business is an understatement. Not only do they work together but, they live on the same plot of land and I honestly felt like we were part of the family the minute we stepped through the threshold. Onto the food. We got to the counter and we were instantly greeted by a smiling face and a «What can I getcha». We had heard the portions were big but honestly I didn’t think that a 9 dollar plate of BBQ could be this big. We ordered a dinner special {85 cents in 1965} which consisted of a half pound of pork butt and 2 sides of our choosing. we went with fries and beans. First the pork. To just say it was good is to say that Babe Ruth was just some baseball player. This was melt in your mouth, tender, almost buttery meat. It was topped with their special blend BBQ sauce with a mustard/vinegar base. Honestly this BBQ plate is in serious contention for the final meal of my life choice. Next, the sides. The beans were the kind of beans you can only get in the south. A perfect mix of that delicious sauce beans and to top it all off, pork butt. I had maybe 2 spoonfuls, turned my head to speak to Papa Duke and when I turned back to Doug he was eating the last bite of beans. The fries were decent too. The right amount of crispy and potato. For me though this restaurant had something I love even more. Character. Joe Duke personally came over to greet us. He sat down and gave us the run down on Little Pigs. I was hooked to every word and so was Doug. Papa Duke told us about everything from the way the shop opened to some family history to quick stories about the locals who frequent the restaurant. He said something that really stuck with me. He said that no matter how good or bad things are that family will always be family. It is that kind of attitude that makes Little Pigs the kind of place that I will seek out. As we were walking out to the car with our 2 sweet teas {on the house} I realized that not only would I go out of my way for Little Pigs, I would plan future vacation stops in South Carolina for the heritage, family and BBQ you can only find at Little Pigs Barbeque of Anderson.
