It’s awesome to find some great authentic Mexican food and my favorite is the shrimp burrito.

A friend of mine and I went here for dinner last night. We went solely because of the Unilocal rating and our love of tacos. The place was kinda in the middle of nowhere but looked very authentic. They had bright colors and signs on the walls everywhere. I ordered the fish tacos and my friend ordered a taco salad. The air conditioning was almost non-existent. Maybe they use a swamp cooler but it was cooler outside than inside. They didn’t have a lot of seating inside but they did have picnic tables out back. We sat outside. There were flies everywhere! Inside and outside. It made it very difficult to eat while being extremely annoyed. If they simply put a lid on the trash can and put a couple sticky traps up outside and inside, it would have made a huge difference. The food was okay. Nothing special. I was expecting more with a rating of 4.5. I’m sure a lot of locals stop in their way to work or home and get take out. The food was good quality but not much flavor. I added hot sauce to my fish tacos and they were still okay. The fish was really crispy, which a really liked. My friend said the same about her taco salad. It was good food but not worth driving to Anderson. She loved the shell the taco salad came in but those are normally good anywhere. The building and the bathroom were old and yuck. The paper towel holder in the restroom was full yet refused to come out… so I had wet hands after using the restroom. That was a little frustrating too. If I was hungry and in the neighborhood already I might try nachos or a burrito or something that may have more flavor. I was hoping for more. On a positive note, the lady that took our order was very nice, kind, knowledgeable and tolerating the heat in the kitchen better than I would. It was SOHOT in there!!! The back patio was fenced in with lots of tables so if it weren’t for the flies, that was a nice touch. It was authentic food for the most part. I don’t understand why an authentic restaurant would serve fish tacos with lettuce instead of cabbage, I like cabbage much better. It is crunchier and gets less soggy. I must be the exception because they do a LOT of business. There were people coming and going the whole time we were there. It’s directly across the street from a bar that looked a little sketchy. Bön’apetit!

This looked like it had potential to be one of those hole in the wall amazing restaurants however it was not I was very disappointed They were out of the burgers that my boyfriend wanted to try and we were told they ordered the wrong frozen meat patties and«they just don’t taste good» is what the girl at the window told us so we appreciated her honesty with the matter So he tried a burrito and I tried a combo with enchiladas and tacos we also ordered 2 tamales Nothing had flavor everything was extremely moist and soggy except the rice was slightly undercooked and the tamales were severely lacking any sort of filling the sauce had no flavor either I was hoping the beans would be good because they looked great but unfortunately there was no saving grace there either And as if we were not disappointed enough we were both very sick the next day and unfortunately this was the only meal we had in common so we will not be coming back to give it another try :(

Mister Taco is by far my favorite Mexican place. I love their fish or shrimp burritos and tacos. Their chips and salsa are wonderful and fresh, and their burgers are pretty good too. I only am giving it 4 starts because the carne asada is a bit salty for my taste, and I was not too impressed by their chill relleno. The staff is always friendly, even when busy.

Love Mister Taco! They have have the best tacos and burritos in the area. It gets a little busy at lunch time so I always call ahead. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well. Chicken tacos and the chile relleno are my go to but everything I have tried has been great. Service is always on point! Great local business!

It is NOTCLOSED. Whew — Unilocal removed the closed notice. I live right down the street from Mr. Taco and love it! Best Mexican Food I’ve had in Redding/Anderson. I’ve moved here recently from Mendocino County and before that lived in the Bay Area — so I’m used to having a lot of good choces in great Mexican Restaurants. Mr. Taco is my my favorite here. Best Carne Asada I’ve ever had anywhere. Recen tly had the Carnitas. Amazing. My favorite things to have at Mr. Taco are Carne Asada, Carnitas and the Chile Rellanos. The burrito menu is confusing. Please Mr. Taco thin it out a little. Too many choices.

This place is off the hook! As close to Mexico as you can get! Has a huge menu and everything is awesome! I love the San Diego Burrito, wife loves the fish tacos, and my daughter loves the lengua tacos. When ever we are in the area we stop, even if we are not hungry(we take it to go so we can have it for dinner or breakfast). Sometimes it even taste better the next day. If you are in the area, you have to stop there. Best Mexican food in the State of Jefferson, and more than likely the greater half of California.

Having just moved back up from San Diego I know what good fast Mexican food tastes like and it tastes like Mr. Taco!
