Ferris Tree Service

I was prepared to write up a detailed account of all the work Ferris Tree Service crew did on my property, and the story of how I met with and got quotes from four of five tree services before giving the job to Dan Ferris, then I read all the reviews. My experience was similar to all the positive reviews and the only negative review sounds like a different company given how satisfied my wife and I are with everything Dan and his crew did for us.
Bottom line?
I suspect you want to know my expectations for a contractor and did Ferris Tree Service meet those expectations?
The answer?
I set out to find someone who is prompt and cordial, seems knowledgeable, has extensive experience and the necessary tools, offers a fair price, schedules the work within a reasonable time frame, arrives on time, finishes the job discussed in a timely manner, cleans up, leaving the job site as found.
My wife and I were home when the work was done. We talked with Dan and the crew throughout the day. They arrived at 7:30 A.M. and left at 2:00 P.M. They were not the least expensive, but they came in with the second best price, and Ferris Tree Service delivered beyond expectations.
We are very pleased with our decision to hire them. Obviously every job is unique and there is no guarantee that a contractor who met our expectations will meet yours, but we do highly recommend you give Dan and Ferris Tree Service serious consideration for any tree work you need done.

I received estimates from 4 companies to remove 8 large trees and then read the Unilocal reviews. The other companies were at least $ 1000 less, but I have had bad experiences using companies having bad reviews in the past and did not want that headache. I went with Dan Ferris. He and his crew were competent, applied all safety procedures, and did the work in 5 hours. It was amazing to watch. They left my yard in better condition than when they started. Worth the extra money.

You can keep reading these reviews. However, you would be best advised to simply call Dan Ferris and schedule your tree event. They are that ridiculously good. I have recommended them to three friends who experienced similar results.
After having the work quoted by four other tree removal companies, I chose Ferris. They were neither the lowest nor highest bidder. However, they were the most complete overall. Dan Ferris came across as professional, courteous and the most thorough of the bidder group. He left nothing unexplained or unlisted in the written quotation.
My experience: removal of 41 trees, majority full-​sized 60 – 90 foot hardwood specimens. All of these trees were capable of striking my house if they fell during ice/​snow/​wind storms. The operation took two full days; everything was completely removed from site; stump grinding detritus taken away; property left spotless.
As others have noted, the Ferris professional operation is an orchestrated sight to behold. At the prodding of my wife, I stayed home for the 2^nd day of work; was pleased that I did. The crew comprised 8 – 10 workers fully protected in safety gear; senior Ferris on a huge crane, several bucket trucks, numerous log and wood chip hauling vehicles. Every piece of equipment was high end and well maintained. All that was missing was some background music playing as this was a fully coordinated labor performance.
OK. Enough. Make the call. On top of what all these reviews have said, Ferris offers winter work at off-​season pricing.

We had Ferris Tree come to remove a huge tree on the property line between our home and our neighbor’s and they did an amazing job. The tree was located in a tricky position with electrical wires nearby as well as being close to both our home and the neighbor’s garage. They came at exactly the time they said they would with all the necessary personnel and equipment. The gave a 3 hour estimate for removal but were finished in just about 2 hours. They were exceptionally efficient and it was a wonder to watch them cut, lift, and process the immense tree. They cleaned up after themselves and there was barely a sign that they had just taken down a tree; there were very few wood chips or leaves, and I was very impressed in how they left the properties tidy after such a huge job. The cost for the removal was very reasonable compared to what other services were asking. I had an arborist look at the tree prior to taking it down; he spoke very highly of Ferris and was amazed at the price that they gave us. I would recommend Ferris to anyone and if we are ever in need of such services again Ferris will the the people we call.

We hired Ferris Tree Service after a large limb from a dying tree in our yard fell and hit our garage. It was an emergency call on a Sunday and they had a truck to our house in less than a half hour. Once there, the limb was lifted off the garage and cut up in less than 20 minutes.
We had them come back to get a quote to remove not only the tree that broke, but another right next to it as they were both dying and a danger. The price was beyond fair and after agreeing to the terms they were back out within the week. They arrived exactly at the time stated and began work immediately. The trees were both more than 75+ feet tall and considering their rotted state, the job was done in 6 hours which is quick in my book.
Their professionalism, precision, and expertise is second to none. When I arrived home from work it was like they weren’t even there. Not a single stick was to be found in the work area. Ferris Tree Service should be your first and only call!

Ferris Tree Service is the BEST ! We had them remove 10 trees (mostly large oak) from our yard. Dan and his experienced crew showed up on time with their entourage of impressive equipment, and got the job done ! The yard was spotless, even after all of the stump grinding. Safety was a definitely a priority with the workers ~ I would highly recommend Ferris Tree Service to anyone.

Had three dead /​dying trees removed from my back yard (which is down a hill and difficult to get at). Between the trees and my driveway were three lilac bushes, a new patio, and a recently seeded yard. The crew at Ferris used a bucket truck and cabling to remove the trees piece by piece and stump them once removed.
The lilacs, new patio, and recently seeded yard were all in excellent shape once the job was done. Ferris did such a good job cleaning up, it was hard to tell they had even been there.
Lastly, the price with stumping beat another quote we got that didn’t even include the stumping.

These guys are the best!!! Extremely professional!!! I have used them twice in the past year and I would use them again in a minute. Prices were great, service exceptional, and cleaned up. I would highly recommend Ferris Tree Service if you want the job done right.
