Sweet Mimi’s Chocolates

I’ve had a few experiences with this store. Their candy is stale (not the home made chocolates but the jelly beans, ect that you can get a few stores down at cvs for much cheaper). As another reviewer point out, the staff is not friendly (to put it nicely) and they do put all of the chocolates in 1 bag instead of nearly in a box. They seemed to get anxiety when kids entered the store. Someone ordered us jelly beans from this store along with balloons as a gift. I hope they didn’t pay too much for them. The jelly beans were stale and the flavors the store (not the person who ordered us a gift) picked out was the tropical blend for a little girl (coconut, pineapple, ect = not kid friendly).

The store lady is a little weird. She didn’t seem to hear what I was ordering even I kept pointing to my selections. The chocolates are a little overpriced though they are pretty good. However she kept putting all chocolates in one small bag and they were a mess when I opened it with the wraps all coming off.

My wife dropped in and inquired about gluten-​free options for a friend. The woman working there seemed to take offense and said they don’t know if the chocolate might have been produced with nuts (which is quite different than gluten). Don’t know their products and nasty to boot. better off going elsewhere.

I had to wait for the woman to get off the phone before I could place my order. Way over priced! $ 25/​lb??? The chocolate is 2^nd rate. Plus, she had a crumpled up piece of tissue paper in her hand that had obviously been used over and over again and then didn’t even use it to put my chocoloates in the box! Used her uncovered hands! Hopefully I won’t catch anything. Don’t think I will be visiting again here anytime soon.

I went in to Sweet Mimi’s today, I usually go 3 – 4 times a year. Today was probably one of the worst visits.
The man behind the counter was rude when I asked if he had my favorite candy, telling me that they melt in the summer — -doesn’t all chocolate melt if not refrigerated?
Then when I was at the counter ordering the slush I noticed that the rude man behind the counter was BAREFOOT!!! No shoes, no socks, just barefoot. That is disgusting. If you are working, especially with food, you need to have your feet covered.
On top of it all the slush was melted as soon as he scooped it out, the chocolate covered oreos that I got were stale and I didn’t get a receipt for anything.
I was not impressed and will not be back to Sweet Mimi’s.

With all due respect to Aeg from New York, you must’ve hit Mimi on a good day. I’m local and really do enjoy the chocolates in the store, but I will no longer support this store with my business. I have been treated rudely here on more than one occasion. We work hard for our money, and I choose to support other local businesses that understand the value of good customer service.

This place is terrific. Just what I was looking for. Upscale chocolate store for a hostess gift.
The variety is terrific and the prices are very good. The gift plates are the best: a nice assortment of chocolates on a gift platter that you can use forever… all under $ 20.
And the owner is NOT grumpy. She was very nice.

«Sweet Mimi’s» is a huge exaggeration. Absolutely nothing sweet about either of the women that worked there today — Mimi was one of them. Was it Valentine’s Day today? Yes, but they weren’t swamped with customers, and if I am going to purchase premium chocolate in a premium shop I would expect the experience to be less than painful. I get treated better at Rocky’s Hardware.

The chocolates are delicious, however the woman (Mimi?) who works the counter could use a little sweetening up.
Every time I’ve been to the store she’s seemed put-​upon by my questions, needing my order rung up, or perhaps my existence. I’ve received the same treatment whether shopping solo or accompanied by my child.

The chocolates and candies are great, Mimi just isn’t as sweet as the name would imply. I’m a loyal customer though.
