All I can say is OMG the polenta we had was absolutely amazing. I can’t remember the name of it(was the creamy mushroom and garlic sauce one.) The older man(I believe one of the owners) who waited on us was really nice and knowledgable about the dishes and shared a little piece of history with my husband and I. Anyways it was really yummy and next time I’m in angels camp I’ll be back!

I had heard about Crusco’s through a co-worker and finally had the occasion to stop by for dinner. I don’t understand the severe negative reviews. I can only think that the reviewers are extremely high-maintenance. Or, they are like people I know that are so negative that nothing less than their opinion of absolute perfection will suffice. I am glad I finally had dinner here. The food is excellent with large portions. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and Fettuccine with Prosciutto. The service was also excellent. They handled my request to leave out the peas in the pasta dish without reservation. Pasta was perfect. I’m not a big fan of olive oil/balsamic vinegars,(which leads me to believe that a previous reviewer who didn’t like it at all was only going on personal taste issues, not understanding the huge variations with oils and vinegars), but used the Focaccia to soak up the Caesar dressing and the pasta cream sauce. I’m not a big fan of Foccacia either, but perhaps I just hadn’t had any as good as this was. And another observation re: previous review. I don’t know of any place that gives«tastes» of wine before ordering. I’m sure it’s done, but that is up to the discretion of the restaurant; it’s not a stupid policy when it costs to uncork an expensive bottle. You should be able to describe what types of wines you like and trust that the server or sommelier can match your tastes. Even then, it has an element of subjectivity that should be considered. No one can read your mind(which is another errant assumption of some Unilocalers). It’s worth a return visit.

We were told this was the best authentic Italian food in the area, maybe it is but I was not impressed. Average small slice of lasagna for $ 18, and average Italian bread and I left there still hungry. Dinner for my wife and I came to $ 68 and we didn’t even have a cocktail or wine. Seating in this place is so tight I practically had to use a shoe horn to get out of my seat. The staff was efficient and courteous however it took like 23 minutes to receive our order. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I went here towards the end of March with my family. We had been hiking all day and were in need of a great Italian meal. Enter: Cruscos. It was warm and had an intimate feeling. The entire time, the service was incredible. We got to meet the owners, both husband and wife. They made us feel extremely valued and gave lots of suggestions for things to do in the area, as we were just vacationing in Angel’s Camp. Out of the 4 of us, all of our plates were licked clean! Sign of a good meal. Highly recommend to anyone in need of a good meal after a long day!

The food was pretty good, but the service was excuciatingly lacking. Our friendly waiter disappeared for 45 minutes at a time. The next morning the digestive system distress was a reminder that maybe we need to try some place else next time we’re in Angels. Word has it that one needs to stay away from the Ceasar Salad and you’ll be OK. If multiple people have been sickened by this particular salad, then why hasn’t the problem been remedied?

Went in today with family to have lunch, the best Italian food I have had in years, so fresh, very hot food, very good service, friendly, prices are reasonable. Beautiful setting, very casual.

How did we miss this gem after coming to Gold Country all these years! As discriminating foodies, we have been searching and searching for a quality restaurant not simply the«best of the worst.» We struck gold with Crusco’s and found them to be a quality far and above everything we have tried in the Arnold/Murphy/Sonora area. Excellent, attentive service, a very reasonable wine mark-up with an excellent wine selection, and many wonderful dishes to choose from. A lot of their items are homemade — excellent focaccia with olive oil/balsamic vinegar dipping sauce, homemade dressings, and desserts. The Panna Cotta was to die for and will bring us back on its own. But our entrees were also perfect and beautifully presented. The chef did a perfect job in cooking our entrees to our specifications! Clearly they take pride in their cooking/restaurant. We have found a new home in Crusco’s!

Back for a 2nd visit. Simply fantastic. This is truly a GEM in Angels Camp. We had the pleasure of having Diego as our server. This young man is truly good at his job. Top notch.

Really dissapointed in this place. The wait for the food was really long. I got Lasagna and it was just ok. I would say it was a tiny bit better than a stouffers sheet. The portion was really small with some plate fillers to make it look like more. Waste of 14.95 as I was still hungry.

The four of us were looking for a nice place in Angel’s Camp after a long day of snowshoeing and driving. It’s truly an Italian restaurant with Gold Country influences in everything from the décor to the atmosphere to the food. The restaurant was very nicely decorated with both Italian and Gold Country charm and definitely would be a good«date» restaurant. We ordered two different types of steak dishes, clam w/pasta, and the salmon dish. All the dishes were wonderful. The lime poppyseed dressing on the misto salad was truly refreshing and a must try. If one is on a budget, a good choice for protein and veggies would be the anit-pasti salad. The salmon was nicely cooked, just a tad rare which I really liked, and came with a light orange cream glaze. The two different steak dishes we had were well received and showed that in the middle of cow grazing country, the really do know how to cook a steak. The clam/spaghetti dish was super good as well, with no shortage of garlic. Service was very good as well. Our biggest regret is not saving enough room for desert. I was quite surprised to see some of the other not-so-stellar reviews here. I would easily come here again when in the area.

My boyfriend and I went here today and I am really glad that we did. I wasn’t feeling well, so I was scared eating Italian food might make me feel even worse(I was feeling nauseous from being in the car for a trip), but the food was very light and fresh. Everything tasted awesome and the service was great. I loved the music and the ambience. We both agreed that this was the best Italian restaurant we’d been to. Even the water tasted great. ^.^ We’ll definitely be coming back sometime in the future.

Mediocre food, cheap wines on wine list and they do not allow even allow tastes before you order — the most stupid policy I’ve ever heard of in my life. The entrees all lacked flavor, seriously low on salt, pepper, garlic — anything to give them flavor. The only moderately good item was the creamy polenta. The focaccia was microwaved to warm it and dry within a few minutes. The menus were literally sticky with an uninteresting and tired mix of offerings. This place needs a Restaurant Makeover by Chef Robert Irvine! Will not return unless it starts getting 5 stars from well respected Unilocalers.

Super friendly lunch service in downtown Angel’s Camp. The menu had a few veggie options. I had a cup of the vegetable minestrone which was REALLY good. The penne was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The portions were small for the price, but we had focaccia bread and salads and left feeling satisfied. Lunch for two was about $ 30. Did I mention the friendly waitstaff? Yeah, I’d come here again.

Tried it for the first time last night. I had the Lasagna which was okay. My friend had the Halibut with Cous-cous which was very tasty. Prices are a tad high IMO, but they are the only game in town other than a couple of lunch/breakfast cafes and a pizza place. Service was outstanding. They were on it with us and not much waiting for anything. Very friendly staff there and the atmosphere is really nice. Overall… I think there are some good sleeper dishes here, I will return again.

Looking for a quaint Italian ristorante in Angels Camp. Crusco’s is the only choice! Celeste is the Chef and owner, along with her husband. Dining with Celeste and her husband is like coming into their home, and being welcomed and seated at their table. I took my sister there last night, at her recommendation, it was amazing, we heard the specials, and once I heard Duck Confit, I was sold. It was fantastico! Succulent, delicious, served over Cannellini beans with with just the right mixture of greens, and a sweet hint to accent the dish! We had a wonderful Amarone wine to complement the whole dish. Bellissimo!

Nice people. But the owner ought to be ashamed for charging high prices for absolutely mediocre fare. My pasta w/Italian sausages tasted like Hamburger Helper — and it was $ 17! The calamari was not much better. Tasted like Calamari you’d get at a gas station. I realize there’s not many options in the outback, so they’re offering something better than Dominos. But charging haute cuisine prices is just mean.

What a find! Just stopped into town for lunch and just loved it! Lovely atmosphere, excellent(!!) food(we were both very happy with our selections) and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is while the waiter did a great job, he certainly could have used some help with filling water glasses, serving drinks, etc. There were other people there but they stayed in the back. Only one very nice lady came out to clear the tables.

It was my bday this past weekend and we were staying in Angels Camp. After a full day of zip lining, rappelling, exploring Columbus, and hiking Natural Bridges, it was time to shower up and go to dinner. We found this place on Unilocal and what a lovely place this turned out to be. The service was excellent, the décor was classy and the food, oh the food. They started off with some bread and olive oil mixed with balsamic. Next up came the Spinach salad and calamari for our appetizers. We shared one plate of salad, and the one plate of the calamari. The salad was fresh, and the dressing was not overly done. The calamari was great as well. The star of the night was my entrée of Antonella. It was soft polenta topped with a creamy chicken & mushroom sauce. Every bite of this was so good that I didn’t want to finish my plate. The polenta was perfect– not mushy, but creamy with whispers of garlic. The chicken and mushroom were both tasty and I savored every bite. For dessert, we all shared the coconut crème brûlée and the chocolate mousse. Both were excellent. Thank you Crusco’s for an amazing dinner!
