This review is for the restaurant, not wine tasting, as some people seem to be reviewing. My husband and I had a very good experience. We were arrested quickly on a Friday evening. Waitress was very attentive. Our water and tea glasses were never less than half full. Food was good. Husband had a broil combo with Cajun season and stated it was much better than one he had at a place in the outer banks that was known for their seafood. I had the grilled and fried shrimp, also excellent. The food is not fancy. It’s just simple good seafood.

We had a great experience. Excellent steaks, and a cozy atmosphere. After our meal we sampled some of their great wines. We’ll definitely dine here again.

Perfect local spot! Local family & owned & operated family which is always preferred in my opinion. The restaurant and winery has a nice ambiance for going out on a date night. Not far from home or the interstate. It was a nice treat to go out which we don’t get to do much, and located on beautiful grounds. Upon entry we where immediately greeted & seated. The owner came to the table & so did the chef. The waitress was super nice & funny, we isn’t the norm anymore. So definitely a plus, holly was super nice. I was so eager to eat so my pics don’t justify presentation. I guess since I was so eager to eat, cause it looked so good is a benefit. We didn’t leave anything behind. Not a bit leftover. We definitely going to go back when we can. What’s nice is they have a nice open porch with a beautiful view of the vineyards & lake, so you can relax a bit before the need to drive home. I definitely recommend trying them out.

I have to say that the staff is great here. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel like you are someone special. The server was fantastic and was super attentive to our needs and service. Even the manager came around and asked how is everything. The steak was cooked to perfection. The food was good and was served hot. 30 minutes is not a long wait for a Saturday night. Will definitely be returning and telling all my friends about it.

We had a great visit here, and we definitely plan to go back for dinner, the menu looks wonderful. The wine tasting was very comfortable and is done at tables, which is different but not something I would knock them on. The wines are made from the Muscadine grape and if you aren’t used to it, it can be a bit shocking and sweet. BUT, Muscadine is native to North Carolina and if you grew up here you may have snacked on them straight off the vine growing wild. The wines were very good for the variety that they are, and the grounds were beautiful. The girl who served us was so fun and we enjoyed the stories she told with each pour. This was a great place to bring my folks when they were visiting for the weekend. We will go back for dinner soon!

Me and 3 friends came for the wine tasting and enjoyed ourselves. We liked the wine slush, it was sweet but good. We also ate at the restaurant. The hush puppies were so good. My ribeye steak was just ok. Overall we had fun and would return.

Great mom-and-pop vineyard! Came here apart of a Groupon deal in early April. The grapes were not in bloom yet, but it was still nice to walk around. September was the noted time when they would be in full bloom. The tour was very nice because Lane(the guide and owner) was very knowledgable in the process of how the entire process works. He is also very friendly and wants you to know about him while he gets to know about you. Tour cost $ 20(from Groupon) which included wine tasting, two wine glasses, and a bottle of wine. Their non-fortified wine bottles are $ 10 each while the fortified ones are $ 16. I think they are great prices. All the wines in the wine tasting were great! It was very hard to choose which one to take home cause they were all great. This may be already corrected, but the hours have changed just a bit. Sundays, the vineyard opens at 1:00pm, not 11:00am.

Went there on Friday night and the lot was full. Went to the tasting bar and tried a few. We purchase a bottle and had a seat to wait our turn for a table. We just about finished our first glass and the called us. We both ordered the Seafood broiled combo, it was excellent. and the service was great. Only one problem. I checked my Bank statement and saw I was overcharged by $ 300.00. I didn’t know I could during that much WINE ;-). I called them to dispute the charge and they fixed the problem right away. They offered to send me some free wine tasting coupons. What a great place. I will defiantly come back for more. Now they are having bands on Saturday night in the big building.

Excellent North Carolina Calabash Style fried seafood: flounder, popcorn shrimp, baby scallops, baked potato, garden salad, steaks, Vineyard wine tasting bar and relaxation room prior to meal and after meal brandy snifter relaxation in a rocking chair or a table by the fire. Pastoral Setting on a big farm with Gregory Vineyards, Winery, Brandy Distillery and the locally well known Lane’s Restaurant with two story dining, banquet rooms and grounds suitable for gatherings, parties, weddings, plenty of outdoor spaces for family enjoyment in a working farm location.

Gregory Vineyards has some of the BEST wines I have ever had! Their«Happy» wine is a great addition to the selection, the«Mary Elizabeth» is also one of my personal favorites. They have muscadine grapes grown on location and every wine is a reserve wine. The service is top notch, you will be treated like a family member because it is a family oriented business. Perfect for weddings and any special event you may have, the property is beautiful, and great for photo opportunities. Must see place, perfect for any occasion! You’re not going to want to miss out on this experience.

I’m just gonna get the negative stuff out of the way first. The wine is not good. You can tell they’re trying but all the wine was way too saccharine and syrupy. Kind of a «one note» flavor experience. The other weird thing is they seat you at a table for your tasting. I wasn’t a fan. I prefer sidling up to a bar and getting shoulder to shoulder with strangers. The whole seating thing was weird, and we had to wait too long between tastings. You can tell they’re trying to create an elegant experience but it’s just missing the mark. Soon they’ll open a restaurant and it’ll be a steak and seafood kinda place(predictable). There’s no clear business identity and its a shame because this place has potential. The were some positives. The lady who poured the wine for our tasting was fabulous. They also offered a free tour of the grounds which was a plus. Overall this place had a lot of heart just no clear personality.

It’s takes. Lot for me to take the time & write a review. I’m not this huge critic or anything, but I’ve been given such an impressionable, that’s a must. First let me say the family is so nice, the grounds are so beautiful. There’s a lake, and it’s. Site to see!!! We even went there for a comedy show a while ago and saw jay jay walker from«good times» They offer more then wine, it’s right in our own back yard. I can’t say anything negative. Everytime we’ve been there it’s always been a pleasure. Thank you

Enjoyed our afternoon at Gregory Vineyards! The staff was very friendly and we appreciated owner and winemaker Lane Gregory taking us on a tour and answering our questions. We got a Groupon deal for 4 tastings for $ 20. When we arrived this was the same price offered on the menu, so we didn’t really feel that we got a deal. However, we did get to taste 7 or 8 wines which was great. We were not familiar with the muscadine grape, but it was refreshing to try something new.

Everyone was super friendly. Took us for a wagon ride tour. Our 2 year old loved it too. I’m not as familiar with muscadine wine but this is the place to try it.

Great Place… wonderful helpful staff. Wines were on the sweet side for me but perfect as dessert wines. I love supporting small businesses and this is a mom and pop shop. Definitely be back to visit.

Well, I can at least safely say that my experience at Gregory Vineyards was interesting. You very well may ask, what made your afternoon in Angier, NC so interesting? Well, first off we got a tour of the vineyard in an old school(is there any other kind?) Ford Model T courtesy of the owner of the vineyard. That was a nice surprise and a fun little twist. Second on the surprise agenda is that there was some sort of biker convention next door on the afternoon that we visited. That was in no way a bad thing, but again rather just«interesting». Interesting because there were a large number of leather clad bikers partaking in the wine tastings while we were there. Yes, it was quite a scene. Lastly, as others have mentioned, the cheese plate that accompanied the wines included String Cheese. Now, I definitely also have nothing against String Cheese and I’m no wine connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, but I usually don’t envision String Cheese being featured prominently during a wine pairing. All in all, it was a worthwhile experience especially given the fact that all in my party were armed with LivingSocial vouchers. The wines(as one would expect) were heavily weighted towards the muscadine variety. Some were very sweet, others more subtly so. Gregory Vineyards apparently also produces and bottles pure muscadine and scuppernong juices, so we were able to sample those as well. As some other reviewers have noted, those leading the tastings seem to possess a variable degree of knowledge when it comes to the wines. Our guide appeared to be quite informative, although I overheard another guide who seemed to be less so. After your tasting, you can opt to purchase a bottle of wine and enjoy it over by a small pond on the property(as we did). Furthermore, there is a paddle boat you can indulge in, though it’s probably wise to do so when you’re leaning more towards the sober end of the intoxication spectrum! All in all, Gregory Vineyards is a decent winery worth checking out should you be in the Angier area. Also, it’s part of the Muscadine Heritage Wine Trail, so that’s a pretty cool thing.
