Ice cream isn’t one of those things where I can tell a difference in quality usually. This is the exception. It was WONDERFUL! Tastes very homemade and they give you a lot for very reasonable prices. Even the service was great. Our server let us try flavors and when I mentioned I have a peanut allergy, she made sure to get mine from the back to make sure there was no cross contamination. Definitely a place to come back to. Soon!

Best ice cream I’ve had. Only negative mark is I wish they would handle the crowd control better. Fix that and this fully deserving of 5 stars.

Very popular ice cream shop, as evident by the long lines everyday. Staff is pleasant, only drawbacks for me are the outdoor seating amid the flies and gnats and cash or check only. Otherwise a Landmark here.

Love, love, love Sunny Sky’s!!! This is by far one of the best ice cream joints ever. Cash only to keep prices low and far enough away to only visit once or twice a month lol Seriously a must try if you’re an ice cream lover!

I come here for the delicious homemade ice cream however, the service never disappoints me. The«ice cream inspectors» are some of the most polite teenagers you could ever meet. Although the counter is always packed each time I’ve ventured the 30 miles to get here the wait has never been more than five minutes.

Checked this place out for the first time and it was a little overwhelming. Place was crazy busy but really no wait. The man waiting on us could tell we were first timers and told us not to let their fast pace scare us. He offered tons of free samples. Since they have 130+ flavors, you can’t see all the flavors in the cases but they have paper lists

I love Sunni Sky’s Homemade Ice Cream! On this most recent visit I got to witness the Cold Sweat challenge! The guy survived after he walked outside for a moment but you could see that the heat was lingering. I can’t wait to see someone try Exit Wound, that name scares me. More power to the people that complete these challenges because I could never do it. well I guess I could but you better give me a few tubs of ice cream for after. Just make sure you remember that it is cash or check only. And, to try tons of samples!

Sunni Sky’s serves up some of thee most delicious homemade ice-cream that I have ever had, and at a reasonable price too. I don’t care where you live around the Raleigh/Durham area, this place is worth the drive down to lil Angier, NC. Sunni Sky’s is open late for an ice-cream joint, …like 11PM on a weekday late! They have over 100 flavors! …pfft, BR and their 31, please?! I can’t wait to return to try SS’s ice-cream again. On my first visit, I was a little overwhelmed by the selections and so I tried several sample spoons of various flavors. Apparently you can sample as many as you like. A dude next to me was sampling some kind of global-nuclear warfare kind of hot pepper ice-cream, and he started wheezing. He told me to try it and I smartly declined. I asked the kind server helping me what he would recommend, and he asked me if I like cinnamon. Hell yah I said, and so he recommended the crumb cake ice cream. I went with it, and Wo_OW, it was scrumptiously superb in ever manner possible. Prices start at $ 1.50 I think and go up to about $ 3 or so. Aside, they have Nutella ice-cream …need to sample next time. So here is what you need to do: 1) Plug in the following address into your map app: 8617NC Hwy 55 S Angier, NC27501. 2) Drive like a bat out of hell down to Angier. 3) Sample as many Sunni Skies varieties as you like. 4) Grab a seat on one of the several rocking chairs on the front deck and enjoy!

The ice cream was good. The menu is awesome and the place is really cute. The crowd was not so cute and ordering inside was just awkward and chaotic and loud. Miraculously, two rocking chairs on the pitch area were free so we could sit with our toddler and have an ice cream memory. Ice cream isn’t my thing really so all the madness isn’t really worth it for me.

Came upon this place while cruising around on the bike with my wife one day. Low and behold, I would’ve never thought that such a small town like Angier would have the best ice cream joint around. It’s a small building located on a pretty decent piece of property. There seems to be plenty of parking but as we pulled in, tons of people were everywhere, outside, inside, sitting on rocking chairs, outdoor chairs, etc — first good sign that this place is the shiznit. The actual building is quite small so you may have to wait in line like everyone else. Needless to say, there were plenty of staffers that were willing and able to help and the line was quick. Their selection is beyond what you can expect an ice cream joint to have. It was a bit nerve wrecking trying to pick and choose from all the different flavors. I had strawberry cheesecake and my wife had mint chocolate. However, they had TONS of flavors, creative ones at that. Be sure to look up at the menu as they have more flavors that are not easily visible. I did hear someone ask about the hottest ice cream that needed a signature prior to tasting? I overheard some others talk about this place on some youtube video or something and why they came to try it out. If you are not sure about the flavors, you are welcome to try a sample. All the ice creams taste homemade and it’s truly hard to pick just one or two. If I could, I’d fill up on my calories for the day. Beware though, they do not take credit cards or debit cards. It’s cash or checkbook. Unfortunately, we had none since we rarely carry cash anymore and bikers don’t carry checks, lo. I didn’t find out until we had our treats in hand. I had to go to the closest ATM to get cash as my wife stayed there to ensure we weren’t dining and driving. Overall, best ice cream place. Definitely worth the drive to Angier!

I made the cardinal sin, if you see Nutella ice cream you always go with Nutella ice cream… This place is fantastic… If the place looks packed because it is. The good thing, the line moves extremely fast, don’t. I REPEATDON’T LEAVE!!! We got the peanut butter fudge, cookies & cream and some coconut cookie ice cream. The peanut butter fudge was fantastic, you can taste real peanut butter in it… The cookies and cream, was just as fantastic…(Didn’t try the cocunut cookie ice cream). The nice thing, we got one in a cake cone and it was fresh. Not homemade by any means, but still had a nice crunch instead of stale which you get 90% of the time. We will be back to try the 100+ flavors… Btw, the value you get for your money is off the hook…

The ice cream here can’t be beat. They have a lot of flavors from the classics to a few off the beaten path. The ice cream is 5 stars, but they could use a little work on the sanitation side. Sanitation be damned, the ice cream is on point! My hubs had peanut butter fudge which was solid. Our kiddo tried the cookies and cream. It was loaded with Oreos. Delicious. I tried the coconut cookie and it was fantastic; my favorite of the three. We will be back to try the other flavors. Tiramisu anyone?

Its really not possible to explain how much I like this place. I will drive 40 minutes to get here and have zero remorse. Plus the prices are so darn good. 3.50 for a double scoop! 150+ flavors(even ghost pepper!). Good service. Awesome area to sit with family and talk while enjoying. I’m in love with the rice crispy treat ice cream and the rocky road ice cream. Go here. Today. It’s so good. Open late. And so tasty. You’ll drive however far to get here and love it.

Awesome old fashioned homemade ice cream. If you love fresh ice cream this place is for you. My wife love the Oatmeal cookie dough ice cream. They have been featured on one of those food shows for their on insane flavor. A mixture of ice cream and hot peppers. It’s called Cold Sweat. You have to sign a waiver before they will scoop it up. 100 plus flavor’s. They only take cash, no credit card or checks taken. If you go by they are always busy! But they have a dozen people inside shouting«next». So it’s fast service.

Sunni Sky’s ice cream is good. It’s actually really good. I had the mint oreo in a cone which made me happy. I could taste the creaminess of this homemade deliciousness and it made me happy. However, the reason that I docked a star was the cleanliness of the outside area. We are all fully aware that we are now in the summer season. Summer means sitting outside, enjoying ice cream, spending time we people we love. However, Sunni Ski has a pretty fantastic outside area that is totally not clean. I’m talking about the front porch here, and the napkins, ice cream spills, etc. that was just coating most surfaces. I think it’s important to keep up the look of the business both inside and out, and a simple power washing/hourly sweep for trash would be helpful. I know I know, people can be creeps and should absolutely clean up after themselves, but the staff should also make sure things are in top shape to reflect the success of this business. The staff was young, professional and really friendly. I was impressed with their ability to run a busy ice cream shop swiftly and work so well as a team to get customers their ice cream and keep the line moving along.

I had the whole week off last week so Julia David and I drove to Angier for ice cream… my oh my was this a mistake, not only did I rekindle my love for lemon but all of a sudden driving an angier is a great idea for ice cream! Dont get me wrong Fresh and Quail Corners also great but theres something about the woodsey back roads and the gravel parking lot that instantly brings me back to Eastern North Carolina and growing up in a town there everyone knew you and you knew everyone. They of course have the lovely basics Strawberry Vanilla and Chocolate, but then theres huckleberry, Lemon, Pina Colda, Praline, Watermelon, Banana Pudding… The list could literally go on for at least another page of Bizzare, Spicy and Sweet which is really the hook you know you appreciate them going out on that limb to bring us a high quality homemade product. xoxo
