Scoops is a fun little ice cream shop with a nice selection of hard scooped ice cream. There is a nice outdoor seating area. Prices are reasonable.

Good ice cream and a wide selection. Obviously a local favorite. Major complaint is that this place smells like bleach. Overwhelming bleach smell that smacks you in the face as soon as you open the door. I almost passed out.

This place is great. Clean, bright, friendly staff. There are tons of flavors and the prices are CHEAP! We had 11 people and the bill was around 25 dollars(all double scoops and one sundae). The prices would be double in Chicago. I also liked that you could sit inside or outside, and there was plenty of parking. I plan on visiting every time I am in the area and highly recommend this shop.

The banana split was excellent. The vanilla and strawberry were ver good. Chocalate was good but not as good as the others. Great variety and quality. Highliy recommend and will stop again!

Takes too long. Too expensive and no personality. Ice cream is so so. It’s for sale now. Maybe somebody can revive it and put some life into this place.

It’s a good small shop. It’s not game changing, best I’ve ever had, drive an hour to get here but it’s a fun local spot.

Driving north on 127, you come across Zesto’s first. .. keep driving. Scoops is just a bit up the road on the left. Great selection of flavors, reasonable prices and great portions. Nice atmosphere with outdoor and(air conditioned) indoor seating. Make sure you have cash though because they don’t accept credit cards. 4 stars because they don’t.

Well, it is not homemade on the premises, but they do import Nafziger’s ice cream from Ohio for their ice cream, and judging on the amount of people coming and going on a cold June night, their efforts are appreciated. Prices are quite reasonable and they have a multitude of flavors in the typical run-of-the-mill cones or cups. Their lot is not paved, so don’t drive your freshly washed car there. They also do not take credit cards of any type so make sure you have cash.

Came across this little place while driving around right outside of Angola over Labor Day Weekend(2010). Just moved to the state and new nothing about the area. When we saw how many cars were in their parking lot, we knew we’d have to stop. They do have generous portion sizes. My single scoop(Caramel Caribou or something like that) would have been a double anywhere else. I love their neat trick of hiding a marshmallow in the bottom of the cone, so that it doesn’t leak. They also sold us a banana at a very reasonable price, so our 22 month old daugther could have a healthy snack. Can’t vouch for the shakes, personally, but they are the reason for the 4 stars(versus 5). Who uses vanilla ice cream to make a chocolate shake? My husband said it was okay.(They do add the cherry and whip cream on top). Would absolutely go back and would definitely recommend it. Also, their prices are very affordable even in a bad economy!(Would give it 4.5 stars if Unilocal let me). Bottom line my ice cream cone with all of it’s caramel goodness was nothing short of YUMmy!

Scoops deserves way, WAY more than five stars! Delicious ice cream, generous portions, and very easy on the wallet. And the owner is SONICE. He loves people and is always so cheerful! My dad and I went to Scoops on opening day this year and we got the first banana split of the year :) The owner was having fun helping us pick out toppings for the different kinds of ice cream we put in our banana split. It was probably the best one I’ve ever had :) Scoops is only open from roughly mid-April through about Labor Day, when they run out of ice cream. If you are in Angola during the summer, you MUST visit Scoops!
