As GIR would say, «taco taco taco taco taco!» We got here right at the time. HAPPYHOUR! We all stood in line with one register open and happily ordered our booze as soon as we were up to the window. I had long enough that I had my choices down to two. The girl behind the counter said the California heat taco was good.(But small) So that is what I had. I had it grilled and it was really good. Full of flavor and avocado! With my drink and warm Oreo churros I was full! The Oreo churro reminded me of the fried food of the Iowa state fair. *drool* My hubby got the nachos. The brisket nachos. He thought it needed more meat and spice but very filling. Our friend got one of the giant burritos smothered in cheese. I think that is a must! Overall the experience was good. You put in your order and then hand in your pager when food is ready. This location has a garage door open wall that opens to a patio seating. It was a little hot but still tolerable. Keep this in mind when you find a spider on your paper towel roll on your table! Eeeeeek! Or flies find you while you eat.

Tonight was the first time we’d been to Fuzzy’s and we were not impressed. We ordered chips, queso, and salsa to start — when I went to pick it up the kid who put the queso in the container licked the extra queso off his glove after he poured it. I watched his hands like a hawk after that. When he put the order up I was still standing there and he asked if it was mine. I advised we ordered salsa and not guacamole. He poured the salsa and gave the guac as well which was nice. When we started to eat my son tasted the queso and said mmmmm tastes like Mac and cheese and he was right — not a fan. The salsa was also not great. When we got our food I received one taco but ordered two. The taco wasn’t bad but needless to say we were less than impressed and will not be back.

Not my favorite taco joint. I will never go again. The tacos are just okay. The chunks of cheese they put on top is a no-go for me. The guacamole was horrible. I just would pass on this and hit up Tasty Tacos or even Taco Johns. I wouldn’t waste my money.

Very good food, tasty. Reasonably priced. I had the breakfast egg, cheese & shrimp burrito. My wife had a shrimp taco platter. She loved it. I loved it. We both commented that we got shrimp in every bite.

Staff was friendly for the most part but not well trained and not willing to take time to make sure the experience is great. The order taker keyed my order in wrong and acted rushed and indifferent. Kind of a confusing system of order and pickup. Staff gave No clear directions on what to do where to go. bIt took me 5 minutes to figure out for myself that I needed to go to the kitchen window and ask for my appetizer. Chips and guacamole were great and were plenty for 2 – 3 people. Great atmosphere. They have adult bevs, tvs, patio. Would be a great hangout place for a game or whatever you are into. Overall great but staff needs better training and some attitude adjustments.

Booths are wood, chairs are metal… floor is concrete if u want to hear horrible scrapping noises like nails on a chalk board this place is for you. Food was decent but not exceptional.

I really like Fuzzy’s when they first opened, the Cheese Covered Burrito was yummy, the ambience was good, Like an informal sports bar. The Attitude through the t shirts was fun. Lately I think that the restaurant is not keeping up with the popularity or they can’t handle rushes that well. Last Sunday we went in for lunch, my fiancée, our 2YO and myself. The line was long, and it seemed like they only had one register open. I ordered Nachos, several tacos and a kids meal, they had no cover for the kids size drink, OK we can make that work. I go over to get utensils, they had no knives, OK I’ll ask for one. Then it was wait for the line to get through with the Pick your own Coke machine.(While usually awesome it can be a wait if the restaurant is busy.) We ate our food which tasted ok and left, by that night my fiancée and I were both feeling very queasy and I stayed home from work on Monday. I can’t say for certain so the score stays at a 3 stars but I do feel that the restaurant team may not be as good on handling rushes and maintaining basic stock as they could be.

The food at fuzzy’s is really good but there are a few things about this place that make it hard for me to go back. The restaurant is always dirty. The Coke machine always had red sticky syrup all over it and the floor and the tables always look like they need a good wipe down with some cleaning solution. The food is made to order but does take a long time so if there are even a few people in line I usually leave because I know it is going to take a while to get my food. I have also had several issues with the food I order not matching what they make. The cooks are always willing to correct the issues but that means even more time waiting for my meal. The other issue is the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. They have a bar with some pretty good prices but it is just not the type of place you want to sit and hang out for a while. So, if you have a long lunch break or are not in a hurry to eat and overall cleanliness is not of concern then I highly recommend the food.

I originally went to Fuzzy’s in KC and was kinda excited when I heard we were getting a couple here in the Des Moines metro. Either I had high expectations from the first time I went in KC, or they just aren’t that amazing. My fajita chicken taco was cold which I’m guessing is from the pound of lettuce they put on top of it. The grilled shrimp taco I got was good but also, warm at best. I also got chips and queso which was pretty good but nothing to rave about. The drink line was backed up darn near the whole time I was there because they have the new fancy kind with the touch screen. It was just very slow and laggy, plus a bit of a learning curve I’m sure with some people as they aren’t at that many places here yet. I don’t know, definitely wouldn’t be a first pick for me but if some friends wanted to go there and my pick was outvoted, I suppose I would still consume a taco or two.

Came here for a quick bite and drink with a friend. Got the brisket nachos, they were pretty good, brisket didn’t have much flavor, next time going to try the Baja tacos. The staff was really friendly, kind of didn’t know how do a tab while sitting at the bar. Overall it is a fun concept for a restaurant in town.

Good thing I gave this place a second chance. The beef fajita nachos are the way to go(and I’m not even a nacho person). I had the shredded brisket nachos(beef fajita taste better). The first time around I got a chicken burrito(non smothered) and it was terrible. I will definitely go again and next time I will be trying the fish tacos.

These guys just came out of nowhere! One in Ankeny and then suddenly another in downtown Des Moines! At first I wasn’t sure if this was a restaurant or a grocery store, when I found out it was an incredible eatery(based on reviews) we hurried over and decided to have dinner here. The staff members were very friendly and helpful, we informed them it was our first time here and they ran us through their favorite items and gave great recommendations! We had the tacos which was okay, nothing exciting. We also had the smother burrito which they just knocked it out of the park! The burrito is a very good size and when you have it smother in cheese, it just looks, smells, and tastes amazing! The atmosphere here is wonderful, many TVs to enjoy watching any sports! They also serve alcohol which is a plus for those wanting a drink with their dinner! They got busy fast during the dinner rush, but there is plenty of seating! This spot just reminds me of trendy and hip places on college campuses that attract a young fan base, excellent food and atmosphere!

I had the Combo Plate for $ 6.99. I had the rice and fried potatoes. I loved the potatoes. The serving sizes were huge. I took half of it home in a box. I thought the food was great and the price was cheap. I loved the big click in the hallway outside. The inside was all concrete and plastic so you can take kids who spill. You can talk in a group and hear a conversation while eating in a group. I highly recommend the place for lunch during the week.

When I walked in the door and got to the counter, after the person in front of me moved out of line I was greeted with, «Good morning! What can I get you?» I replied, «I’ll have the spicy pork burrito.» She said, «Absolutely. Would you like that smothered in queso?» I answered, «No thanks.» She said, «OK, for here?» I said, «Sure.» She asked, «Anything to drink today?» I wasn’t sure right away so she held up a cup and said, «Bring this back and get a 99 cent refill…» I said, «Sure.» She asked, «Or do you want a beer?» I said, «No, thanks.» I handed her the card, which she swiped and handed me a pager. She said, «That’s going to light up and vibrate like that when it’s ready for you in that big kitchen window.» Five minutes later the pager went off and I went to the large window. There was a tray with a bag and one with a basket holding what looked to be the burrito I had ordered. There was no-one saying what to do, so I stood there. A woman came over a few seconds later and said, «Hi.» I said, «I had a burrito.» She looked at the guy behind the counter and said, «I don’t have tickets. What’s that?» He said what was in the bag and it wasn’t mine. He stated the other was the burrito. The woman said, «OK. I was like, umm… I don’t have a ticket!» I said, «Thank you.» The guy said thanks and the woman said thank you. The taste of the burrito was below average. It was far too salty and I couldn’t finish it due to that. Their tea was good and their sauces were OK. I liked that they had lemons available. About five minutes later a man wearing a gray hoodie over his purple shirt and donning a black and gray ball cap came by. He asked how everything was and if he could take the basket, which I wasn’t using. He continued around checking the tables and clearing used items. The restroom smelled pleasant when entering, though a bit strong(as if the deodorant fixture was too large for the small space of the restroom.) The area was clean, including the urinal, toilet, floors, sink and mirror.

Love it. Nachos were fantastic. The pick up process is slightly confusing for anyone that has not been there before. Staff were super friendly. Love the ambience. They have garage style slider doors to open up when the weather cooperates. We will return. Much needed addition to our area. Prices were pretty fair.

BESTNACHOSINDESMOINES — DAYUM! I consider myself a connoisseur of nachos and I have to say Fuzzy’s has the best around. I ordered the special beef nachos and are they special. The nachos are HUGE and covered in many kinds of cheese, I could taste some feta even. You wouldn’t think that it would work but it does. For 7.99 you could seriously feed 3 people. They take the time to build the nachos in layers and add the cheese sauce and cheese on every layer, The meat is honestly second fiddle to the copious amounts of cheese but who really cares when it tastes this good! I challenge you to eat a whole order on your own! My son had the grilled vegetarian tacos, this is a great place for vegans/vegetarians. They are conscientious enough to tailor your meal to your dietary requirements. Make sure you let the cashier know about any special food needs. The chips, salsa, and guac are also great. They sprinkle some chipotle powder onto the chips before serving. Oh yes, the chips are also freshly fried. When I was there I saw them frying them up and then serving them. In short, this is a great place to eat good americanized mexican food for a decent price. There are TVs all around and they have outdoor seating. I see a huge following here in the summer months. I also love that they have to go boxes and containers out for you to pack your leftovers. They know the give you lots of food and they know its good! Love that. Check this place out and order the nachos, you won’t be sorry.

A friend and I decided to meet up here for lunch today. I was told that the line could be pretty long but that the food was woth the wait so let’s bring it on! We got there about 11:50 and there were probably about 10 to 12 people ahead of us. Within a couple minutes, there were that many behind us as well. The line moved fairly quick. The ordering process is pretty easy. You look at the menu on the wall while in line, go up to 1 of the 2 registers to place your order, pay and get your flashy/vibrating coaster that alerts you to go pick your food up from the order window when it’s ready. They have a pretty good menu. I was in the mood for nachos so I ordered the beef nachos. I wasn’t disappointed. Great flavor/taste and a generous portion to boot! They have adult beverages and tv’s on the wall so this looks like a good place to hang out after work as well. I will be bringing the fam here and I’m sure will be back for lunches as well.

Wow this place is busy and I can see why. The wait is worth it! They ask you if you want flour or corn tortillas and soft or crispy for their tacos! I love choices. And tempura or grilled for their fish and shrimp tacos. The tempura fish taco is amazing. The garlic sauce and feta with cilantro makes it taste so fresh! The brisket taco is super juicy. Do not eat in your vehicle or without a bib. The deliciousness will be all over you and everything. It’s so wonderful and full of flavor. The guacamole is creamy and has just the right amount of heat with tons of flavor! The refried beans are super good! I wish they would have included a spoon so I could eat them right away! They smell and taste so good! Prices are awesome. Staff are awesome! It takes just a few minutes and is worth it! But you can call ahead! I will definitely be back!!!

Amazing! There’s no other taco joint like this in the area! Soft corn taco’s are delish! Ingredients are fresh, the guac is delicious! This is my new go-to on the go lunch restaurant! There’s only one soda(pop) machine, the kind where it’s touch screen and you choose your flavor, so you’ll have to wait in line for that, but it’s not such an inconvenience to lose a star over. Fast, I ordered a lot of food to go. We wanted to try a bit of everything. I’m sure glad we did. I’d say I waited maybe 7 minutes. Oh! And the salsa! Good kick to it, nice chunky consistency. Just a great overall experience. Every. Single. Time.

First time eating at a Fuzzy’s. I was really happy with the experience. The burrito was awesome, the chips were tasty(not too greasy), and they have those awesome coke machines that mix your drinks on demand. Lunch on a weekday can be challenging, this place is crowded. The staff handled it very well. Plenty of help, everyone was helpful. We were able to eat comfortably in 45 mins from when we walked in. Here are some tips: The hot sauce is sweet and hot, if you are sensitive go easy. The chips and salsa are worth getting, as is the guac. It’s a large portion, so share. Burritos are huge, I only ate half of mine but it was delicious. The shredded brisket was very tasty indeed. Don’t just do lunch. They have a great drink menu. Moscow mules, tons of beer on draft and bottle, etc. I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was energetic and a bit loud. It’s a good place for friends and a date, but there are no dark /high backed booths here. The TVs are on the outer walls, they are high up, but only visible from the middle tables. If you sit in a booth, don’t expect to watch tv. I like that they have a patio, and it’s on the north side of the building so it wasn’t too hot out there. Parking is great, especially for Ankeny. Lots of spaces and easy access off Delaware or Oralabor. They take cash, credit or debit, and are super friendly. I will definitely be coming back again.
