Hampton Inn

The staff at this hotel is the best. They have breakfast ready by 5:30, that is amazing. The desk people are always nice, no matter which person that you deal with. The property is always clean and nice. I stay in a lot of hotels, and I love this one. As far as being too far from a restaurant, it’s not. I’m glad it’s not in a busy area, I like a little peace and quiet. I would go out on a limb and say that you got here by car, so what’s the big deal about driving 5 minutes to eat? Dozens of places to eat, just avoid Buffalo Wild Wings, they suck.

This is a lovely hotel. Room are spacious and equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. Very comfortable beds and a walk in shower. Hot breakfast is served in the sunny lounge. The only drawback is that there are no restaurants nearby.

Not a bad place at all but be warned that this is really outside the city, there no restaurants or other businesses nearby. Maybe it will grow out there but not now.
NOTE: this was supposed to be an «accessible» room but the only thing we saw that was different was more room between the end of the beds and the furniture. The toilet was regular height, the shower was normal.

Very nice especially for a Hampton. Good service. Nice and clean and they have real Directv in the rooms! Typical of a Hampton there isn’t anything to do in the lobby but if you like Hampton’s this is a good one.

This is a very clean, modern and well run hotel. The rooms are very well appointed, the beds are comfortable, the tv is HD, and the amenities are fantastic. The morning breakfast is very good for continental quality, and you have a ton of options.

AWESOME! My first description in one word.

IN GENERAL: Our travels led us to Des Moines to meet up with family members from up north. My responsibility was to find rooms. To my delight, I found the Hampton Inn! :-)
THE ROOMS: We were in Junior Suites. Three of us and two queen beds in each room. Fridge and microwaves in every room, with a sitting area and plenty of chairs. We asked for our rooms to be as close as possible, and they were! We were in adjoining rooms, which was so much fun for us! The rooms were nice and clean and roomy, and did I mention clean? (That is a huge plus with me.)
THE STAFF: The staff was exceptional. The cleaning staff, friendly and thorough. The front desk, Terry (on the phone before we got there) and Kenan (when we arrived), so very accommodating and helpful.
THE FOOD: The Breakfast, a full breakfast, different each day… from waffles to omlets with potatoes on the side, fruit and cereal, toast and good coffee or tea. Load up and take it to your room, or eat downstairs in the bright and cheerful dining room.
THE EXTRAS: The swimming pool and whirlpool so inviting and the exercise room… once again, clean and the equipment was top notch.
THE LOCATION: It’s right outside Des Moines with easy access to anywhere.
There is no question where I will stay next time I’m in Des Moines.
This is the best hotel experience I’ve had in a long time. Thanks to the hotel staff for making our stay relaxing and fun!

Great new hotel in the Hampton chain. Love the walk-​in showers, pantry selection is good and the breakfast area has lots of room.
Work-​out room gets a mention as it has excellent equipment.
Staff if very friendly and helpful.

Great newer Hampton, probably built around 2007.
Suites are worth the $ 15 upgrade; standard rooms are a little smaller than average.
Fridge and microwave in every room.
The «market» is the best I’ve ever seen; snacks and drinks, microwave meals and a lot of ice cream (see photos).
Another reviewer said there are no bath tubs, but he is mistaken. Perhaps he ended up in a handicap-​accessible room. Standard rooms include tubs.

This hotel is brand new and has a very nice location in relationship to local eating establishments and shopping. I recommend going to Buffalo Wild Wings if you are staying here, it is the next exit up and is a nice place to de-​stress.
I would give this place 5-​stars except there are no bath tubs and the wi-​fi can be really slow.
