Elixir is a nice place to sip & study near campus. Its main appeal is the plentiful seating; all the other decent coffee spots are packed day and night. If you’re looking for succulents, latte art and an intentionally mismatched boho chic aesthetic, this is not the place for you. If, however, you want a good cup of coffee/tea, reliable wifi, a snack, natural light, and a low-key environment, grab a window seat at Elixir. Tips: — Subbing nondairy milk is an extra 25 cents — There’s an outlet at the far right of the window seating bar. — $ 2 any-size chai(1.50 any-size tea) most weekday afternoons on Hooked!

Solid coffee joint. It’s not pretentious, coffee is great, and they take card. So it checks the box for everything you want in a coffee place.

Went back in after a few months and was pleased to see great improvement in cleanliness, customer service and drink quality. Great, affordable caffeine stop with a wide selection of teas and coffee brews in a chill atmosphere!

Met here for a first date, just a casual«let’s get coffee» deal. Worked perfectly well. Coffee was good, but I didn’t sample any of the food.

I don’t really know much about coffee. I’m not really an «espresso connoisseur» like many other Ann Arborites. However, I will rate the service. The barista, Julia, had a good attitude. She helped me get the wifi working and all that and was friendly. I’ve been to places where baristas have acted like I shot their family because I asked a simple question. I used to come here back when I was a freshman and will probably make return visits when I have time due to the place being a quiet but nice place to study, conveniently located next to a parking garage and a lot of restaurants.

Their chai latte is home brewed. Nice and light. So if you can’t stand the ultra syrupy stuff, this chai will rock your world. They also use real Carmel in their lattes. Yummy! This place is the real deal.

I love this place. It’s quietly tucked away just a couple blocks outside the center of Ann Arbor. The atmosphere is excellent and so was my chocolate chai. I’ll definitely be coming back soon.

I don’t know on what basis this place has so many 5 stars. The ambience is poor, the tea is mediocre.

We were looking for a great new, local coffeeshop for doing work. This place is great, and I am so glad we stopped in. +friendly barista working gave us a deal without the Flock card machine working +casual, sunlit café has tons of seating +wifi is reliable and fast + good music(Marley playing currently) +they don’t charge you extra for soy or almond milk like every other place in town! We have a new home. Seriously, this place is great.

I love this small café. It’s on Liberty. Whenever I volunteer at 826 Michigan, I go two doors down and get a great cup of coffee there. It’s an unassuming place. They don’t rush you. They don’t patronize you. I feel they’re genuine. When I’m early to open up, The robot place, I get my hot coffee and sit in one of the soft chairs by the front and watch people go by. It’s peaceful and quiet which is just what I need in the morning. I’m quite angry that when I tried to find the name of this place I frequent, it didn’t come up on Unilocal! What’s the problem? This place should come up! It’s not soooo small it should be obliterated!

I was only here for about twenty minutes or so last weekend, with a friend who is a regular. We had just eaten lunch so I wasn’t super hungry/thirsty, I bought a madeline cookie for about $ 1.25. Prices seem comparable to most Ann Arbor places. They also do have free WiFi, which is nice. They had fans or something going but either no or little A/C. I’d maybe stop back here sometime.

Yesterday I came in for the Monday hot tea special. Elixer has a wide range of loose leaf teas. I had a cup of Irish Breakfast. The attention to detail and quality impressed me. Ed made up a custom bag with plenty of leaves, and I found the half and half kept fresh the fridge. I had a second cup, this time it was a tea with peach and ginger. It was simply delicious and refreshing and paired well with pastry. Yes, the baked goods are wonderful, and the prices are so reasonable! Today I am back, this time to sample their coffee. Ed made up a perfect latte for me! The tea and coffee, service and ambiance are as good as it gets! Oh and I can’t forget — the internet is reliable if you are looking to sit and get a good amount of studying done online! There are plenty of tables and Ed will make you feel comfortable whether you stay for 10 minutes or for a day of studying!

I love Ed’s house blend coffee. I now find myself going a few days a week before class to get a cup of his brew. It’s well balance and is addicting. The price is a little steep at $ 2.00 for a small coffee, but it is definitely worth it. I’ve never had to wait, and the service is always great. The house blend coffee here is a hidden gem in Ann Arbor.

Kicks expresso royale/starbucks’ butts! Nice staff and GREAT beverages. It’s well worth the extra block walk from the diag. Not too crowded, well lit, and features daily deals. For those who like their mochas more coffee-y than sugary, this place is your calling.

Cool little coffee shop. I had walked by multiple times, but never knew what to expect. I had an hour to kill and wanted a place to stop, get a drink and read my book. While it isn’t too fancy on the inside, there are an ample amount of tables and chairs for studying, reading, and hanging out. They also have a nice selection of muffins, cookies, and other treats. I believe a lot of their coffee comes from Roos Roast, which is awesome. While I generally get a plain coffee, I ended up getting a Chai Bomb, which is chai with a shot of espresso. It was extremely flavorful. In addition to coffee, they have a large selection of teas. Green, white, black, any tea you can imagine, they have. Oh! They have Wifi! Great place to stop!

Like the(Espresso) Bar, Elixir is quite unique-looking. It’s a very simple, yet tastefully put together. There’s a certain charm to looking at the back of a fridge and admiring the nail holes in the wall – I’m not being facetious either. Their baked goods look wonderful: croissants, madelins, shortbread cookies, muffins, bundt cake, bananas, Ferrero Rocher, Biscotti… The staff is friendly, there’s free Wi-Fi that actually works and this place is probably the only coffee shop that isn’t bursting at the seams with people. Be sure to catch their deals: Mon: $ 1 Hot Tea; Tues: $ 2.25 Chai Latte; Wed: $ 2.25 Café Latte; Thurs: $ 2.25 Café Mocha; Fridays: Free Flavor Shot. –Lobster Butter(Roos Roast): Prost! The coffee comes in a cute beer glass, and it looks like you’ve just ordered yourself a Guinness. But take one sip and you know you’ve ordered the butter blend. It’s deliciously creamy and smooth, with a slight bitterness. FINALVERDICT: I like the atmosphere, the coffee and the staff, so yes, I’ll be back and gladly recommend.

Woohoo! As good as it gets! is right! This place has really stepped up to the plate to become the best coffee shop that Ann Arbor has to offer. What a great environment for all of your caffeine needs. Very chill space with even chiller baristas doing what they do best — making incredible cups of the best joe out there. Lobster Butter Love is really all you need to say and you’ll be taken away to another world as you sip on the delicious, buttery flavor of… Lobster coffee? It’s a very warm setting and very warm, friendly service. They’ve got some solid eats and a good variety of tasty treats(I made a funny). The best part is the prices. You just can’t get such a dope environment with such a great product for such dirt cheap prices anywhere anymore — especially not Ann Arbor! Cheers ya’ll.

Excellent shop! Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff, and let me mention the great coffee! There are many coffee shops downtown Ann Arbor to choose from, but they all have a «commercial» feel, at Elixir Vitae you get the real coffee shop feel, in a laid back atmosphere.
