Everything here is prepared fresh and with very careful attention. The flavors are perfectly balanced, the combinations interesting, and the quality as close to home-made food as you can get when eating out! A real bistro experience! The meats are high quality, tender and flavorful, and the food leaves you feeling like you’ve eaten an incredibly filling but perfectly balanced meal. Portions are quite large; we always have leftovers. Service is wonderful, everyone is very helpful and accommodating, and they have excellent recommendations for even modifying dishes to your own taste. Definitely come!

I went to lunch with a friend and we throughly enjoyed the atmosphere, music playing in the background, the attentive service and the delicious food. We ordered hummus and pita bread for an appetizer. Plenty of hummus but could have used much more bread for $ 5. The omelets and French toast looked delicious but we ordered a hamburger with bacon and onions on it. Ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. Fresh tomatoes, crisp fresh lettuce. We also split a lamb gyro. It was delicious and very filling. We both commented on how delicious, crisp and hot the French fries were. The place was very clean, including the bathroom. The service was excellent. We will be coming back!

Average food but incredibly caring waitstaff. Ama is a comfort breakfast/lunch place I’d take a friend for a weekend catch up. Got the benny which came served on regular toast instead of english muffins, which I wasn’t expecting. Tasted fine, just a heads up if you’re picky about that! For sides you get the choice of toast, sliced tomatoes or fresh fruit. He brought out my dish with tomatoes at first when I asked for the fruit and left them without charge. Friend got the cinnamon french toast and saw a photo for pumpkin spice which both looked delish for sweet options. It’s hard being across the street from Sava’s, but this place has such a different personality, don’t think it’s fair to make that comparison.

Favorite breakfast place in Ann Arbor! I’m sorry Angelo’s, Café Zola, but I think I’ve met my match. The food is delicious, the wait staff incredibly kind, and the casual ambience especially relaxing in the morning. It’s the definition of a classy diner, and I’ve never been disappointed.

I’ve been here quite a few times and every time I’ve gone, I have experienced good service and delicious food. I love their omelettes and pancakes, and they give a generous portion for the price. I recently tried one of their lunch options — a Greek salad that came with pita bread, and I also ordered an orange cream milkshake. The Greek salad was tasty(dressing was very good) and I liked the side of pita bread that it came with. And the milkshake was wonderful! I definitely recommend getting one of the milkshakes. I really hope this place keeps up as they offer plenty of delicious options in their menu at an affordable price.

This is my spot and Ann Arbor and I know Ann Arbor better than Ann knows Arbor. Amazing service and the food is incredible. Hands down my favorite breakfast/lunch spot in A2. I go here at least once a week.

This is a casual, basic dining place that is probably better for breakfast and lunch. We had a good breakfast here. I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict and my husband had the pancakes with blueberries. The portions were very large and the prices were reasonable. Our waiter was friendly. The food was a bit slow to arrive, but we did show up soon after they opened. They have a few Albanian items on the menu that would be interesting to try.

I’m sorry for leaving a 2 stars but here’s my logic. Being called a «bistro» and located in downtown Ann Arbor, the quality does not justify higher ratings. Got a Groupon for 4 people but we had 3 people, and were charged $ 2.40 for the absent fourth. It was Saturday 11÷21÷15 afternoon and we were the only guests dinning. There was no choice for tea, Lipton only, and it is unacceptable for a «bistro». Luke warm water without lemon or honey, over priced. 1st entrée: Turkey panini, was not a panini, it was a sandwich with French Toast grilled on the table top grill; not pressed and without marks. We did not like the raw onions, would have been better with tomatoes to give it more moisture. 2nd entrée: Steak and eggs. Steak ordered medium rare, came out medium. Eggs were perfect sunny side up. Hash brown was fried mushy brown. 3rd entrée: Baked Furghessa on Clay. Polenta was over fried and furghessa and the size of a cup of soup. Over priced for small portion, and the beef wandered away; not meaty at all. Latte was fair for the price, can’t complain. Server was nice and attentive. Overall, unimpressed, you can get an equal quality of meal at Denny’s or IHOP. Personally, I would not pay the full price for this«bistro» experience. If you’re the management or owner and reading this, please consider these constructive criticisms. If you believe the business can survive on Groupon deals then I may come again with a Groupon.

Actually, the food is fine, and I appreciate the diligent people there? I came with two seniors. The past experiences were all good. The waiter/waitress all are good. Today, we met the woman owner. When we paid the bill, she denied the coupon. She made up an excuse and said that we had not said before, and the computer system does not reverse it. It is not even printed out in the fine print. Obviously, she violated the law. If she does not honor coupon, she should not have affiliated with any website. Such practice never invites people back, just ruining the reputation.

The food is great, but the service tends to be a little slow around lunch time. I’ve never had a bad meal here, but I have waited over 30 minutes for eggs. The egg khima was worth the wait though.

I wanted to love this place. And I decided before I ordered that I was going to Unilocal, google+, tripadvisor and whatever to get the word out about this place. My innitial thought was, it is well priced for downtown Ann Arbor food, modernly chic and strangely empty considering the first two things. I don’t want to hurt the buisness so I am avoiding leaving a 2 start review or 1 star that it deserves based on my food experience. Ordered Takeout. I asked the server which Albanian dish he would recommend and he recommended one that was like a stewed beef. Came with rice or polenta and a soup or salad. I got the rice and salad. The rice was shaped like it had been molded in a cup and the rice was hard. Maybe it sat out for a few days before serving it because it was insanely hard, and not the crispy rice kind of hard, but uncooked or really really stale rice. I wish I had taken a picture of it. I had never had the beef dish, so I can’t really say if it was good or bad because I don’t know what it was supposed to taste like. I didn’t really like it, but for all I know it was the best version of that dish in all of Michigan. The salad was pretty standard, iceberg lettuce with some pieces of vegetables. Definitely not worth $ 12. I will give them another chance, but will stick to the American menu.

Good service and good food. I had a $ 10 certificate so we tried this place out today. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia, and my friend had a burger. Since we needed to spend $ 20, we also ordered mozzarella sticks. It came on a bed of spinach and my friend is allergic to spinach, they said they would make her three new mozzarella sticks which was very nice of them(a serving was 6 and we had planned on splitting it). The décor and everything is nice too, this is the space where Mr. Greek’s used to be. Based on this experience, I would come back here when I wanted a sandwich or a quick lunch. I’ve heard their breakfast menu is very good as well. They asked us if we wanted a breakfast menu too, so I assume they serve at all day too, or at least during lunchtime.

I came with a friend for a snack after seeing a show at the Cinetopia Film Festival at the Modern Languages building on campus. It was empty at 3, when we came in. The waitress explained they were between the lunch and dinner shifts. Because of that, the food we ordered came quite quickly. My friend ordered the quinoa salad. She said it was delicious. It was full of quinoa, feta cheese and beets. I wasn’t as hungry, so I ended up ordering a hummus and pita bread appetizer. Bread was nice and fresh and the amount of hummus was huge. The highlight of our meals were the milkshakes. My friend had a strawberry banana and I had an orange vanilla milkshake. They were very refreshing and not too sweet. The menu offers a lot of options for breakfast and lunch. Didn’t see the dinner menu. Service was pretty good. Waitress was nice, and like I mentioned before, the food came quickly. I’d come back, again.

This place is great, especially if you want a simple breakfast. Not sure if there is another place like this in Ann Arbor. Angelo’s is great, but difficult to park and not in downtown. This place is right at state and liberty, near the CVS. I had the breakfast skillet and it was exactly the classic type of breakfast I would eat daily, vs a lot of the fancy places I enjoy, but are overpriced for daily meals. Go here for a classic breakfast, reasonably priced and fast service.

I came here before for dinner and had a terrible experience with the food and service. However, I saw a sign today for the $ 5 breakfast deal, so I gave them a second chance. I am really glad I did. Their service and food have improved immensely! The $ 5 breakfast comes with hashbrowns, poached eggs, toast, and sausages. You get A LOT of food for the price! The toast was absolutely delightful! However, the sausages were slightly overcooked but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, I would recommend the breakfast special! If you had a bad experience here before, you should try going again for the breakfast deal. I had a great experience this time.

Finally went back to ama after 7 months and I’m really impressed with their change. Like the previous time, I went during a weekend brunch and ordered the exact same thing. 1. Service was great. Our server was sweet and did her job well. It wasn’t a busy weekend so I guess that helped too. 2. Food was beyond my expectation. Maybe I set the bars low but you can judge from the photos. I ordered eggs Benny again but it looks soooo much better than the eggs Benny I ordered 7 months ago. Taste wise, delicious. Portion was pretty decent too, my meal came with a side and it was a plateful of hash brown. 3. I ordered a peach strawberry smoothie too and was surprised to see that it came in a larger glass this time. I think they listened to customers feedback and doubled the size. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my meal and will go back again. They seem like they’re starting to make improvements so do try them out if you’re in the area. :)

WORST service EVER, if you can call it that. Came in on a Sunday, were seated immediately. We were given plastic cups with water(everyone else had glass), no one came by for about 20 minutes. Since we were catching up with a friend it wasnt a huge deal and it being a Sunday waiting is inevitable. Finally I flagged down a server who proceeded to come by and say«are you ready», no apologies no explanation, nothing! Placed our order and asked for coffee. Another 10 minutes passed and we just left and walked across to Sava, where we were seated promptly and had coffee within minutes. As a former server a simple apology and kindness from your rude staff would have went far. Never coming back!

From the outside, this looks like a mediocre diner. Upon entrance, one is surprised by the fancy décor and the equally fancy prices. Unfortunately, the quality of the food matches the outside first impression more than the inside décor and prices. This is basically Fleetwood Diner quality food, but on prime location and with prime prices. The portions served are probably even smaller. Here is my honest and brutal advice: This place will not last. The owners should just cut their losses and get out now.

I came in here looking for Coney Island and breakfast food. Unfortunately, they don’t serve breakfast all day. Fortunately, she said omelets and the Traditional Mama’s dish are available all day. I ordered the Veggie Omelet without cheese. It was an average omelet. The hash browns that came with it were not quite fried enough and were very bland, but maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be. I also ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice. While I did see fresh oranges being put in the juicer, I also spotted a gallon jug of orange juice, so I don’t think all of it is freshly squeezed. According to their website, they are open 24⁄7. This should be fun. The renovations are nice and are definitely a step up from Coney Island’s previous deco.
