This is my first 5 star rating on Unilocal.I had an old garage door opener that no longer worked. I call these folks and spoke to a lady named Debbie. Within minutes, it was obvious she knew her stuff. I called back later and made an appointment. The technician arrived on time and went right to work. He had a new system installed and working within 2 hours. He was helpful and answered all my questions. These people are good!

I had a complete garage door and opener installation. My old door was from the 70’s and had those deadly side springs, it is nice to have a modern setup now. Kevin arrived on time and got right to work. 5 – 6 hours later and the old door and opener were off and the new opener and door was installed and working beautifully. The opener pads and wireless pad were programmed and ready to go. The joist needed to be notched to level the new opener but he took the time to install a brace. I was also impressed with Chris who came out to do the estimate and the lady (didn’t get her name) who scheduled my appointment and took care of any questions i had. I feel the overall price was very fair, in line with what I was expecting.

This week Brian came over to fix our broken garage door. He was able to come just hours after we called, he fixed it rather than pushing us to buy a whole new door (though offered a less expensive alternative to one we had been looking at) and also explained errors made by another local garage door company in a past repair. I am very impressed!

Spring broke on our double garage door, I called these folks first thing on a Monday morning and they were able to come out and fix it this same morning. Very prompt and quick service, reasonable cosy, would definitely recommend them.

My garage door was misaligned and not closing properly (one side was sticking and threatening to jump the tracks). I called Ann Arbor Door and was able to schedule an appointment exactly when I needed one. The repairman came in the early part of the 3 hour time window (so refreshing), quickly diagnosed the issue, suggested I replace all the rollers since at least a few were bad, quoted a price, and was done in about 15 – 20 minutes. I especially appreciated that he recognized the door itself wasn’t very old and didn’t try to sell me anything unnecessary. I also like their pricing model that includes 30 minutes of labor in the flat service fee ($ 85), so I only ended up paying for the parts. I’d absolutely recommend them for repairs and if/​when I need a new opener or door I’d call them first.

If I could give this company a ½ star I would. I had an issue with my Genie garage door not opening. I called the company and had the technician come out to «diagnose» the problem the next day.
The technician just took a quick look at the door opener and said that the circuit board was bad and said that I should replace the whole opener for $ 450 dollars. He did no troubleshooting or anything. I said that I was not interested in replacing the opener, I just want my current opener fixed. He refused to fix the opener because he said that he doesn’t touch Genie openers and then charged me $ 65 for stopping by.
After the tech left, I looked at the troubleshooting section of my Genie manual. It said that the chain may be too tight or loose. I tightened up the chain and wammo, the opener started working.
What a waste of $ 65!!!

I have had problems with a Marantec door keypad and have twice gone to this company expecting to buy a new cover. In both cases they scrounged up a used part and gave it to me free. Earlier this week, the entire keypad went out. I called them to come over and fix it. They explained how it made more sense to do it myself and save the labor charge. They sold me a new keypad at a price cheaper than Amazon and even programmed it for me. I am highly impressed by their ethics and straightforward way of doing business. I highly recommend them.

Somebody put a lock on the track of the garage door which made it jump its tracks and left it looking all ghetto and missing a few rollers. The neighbors were seriously whispering and how I could have let the house go to such a state of disrepair? I scanned Unilocal for a good referral and AADSI seemed pretty reputable. I called and they said a service call was $ 85. Pricey, but you get what you paid for. Ok. The technician replaced the missing rollers, banged the garage door back to its tracks, and was gone within 5 min. of arrival. Quick. Paid him his $ 85 plus a tip.
Door now rolls up and down just as before. No hassle. No stress. That’s how business transactions should be.

I have only nice things to say about Ann Arbor Door.
Our garage door was acting wonky for a few days, and then just quit while the cars were parked in there. My husband and I managed to force the door up and the cars out onto the driveway, but something was seriously wrong, as the door was hanging incorrectly and coming away from the tracks.
We called a couple door repair places — one never picked up, even though they had Saturday hours, and the other place USED to service Ypsilanti (because we’ve used them in the past) but don’t any longer. So, I called Ann Arbor Door, and while they couldn’t come out on the weekend, they promised to be there between 8:30 and 9:30 on Monday.
They got here during the one-​hour period they said they would, fixed the door (broken spring, which in turn messed up the cables) in less than 40 minutes and charged me less than $ 100. Great experience all around.

The spring on our garage door finally gave up the ghost and we phoned A2 Door for help. They came out the same day, installed the new spring (and greased the workings) –Justin was totally friendly and efficient. Our door works so much better (and quieter!) than it did before. Couldn’t be happier with their service — would totally recommend them.

I have backed into my garage door twice (yes, twice– two different doors) and called Ann Arbor Door both times. The same man repaired the door both times and was skilled, professional, and blissfully quick. He arrived within hours and was able to fix the doors, which to me seemed mangled beyond repair, without having to replace them. The receptionist who took my call was kind and courteous. Overall a great experience. I would definitely use them again, though I hope the occasion doesn’t arise!

Calling in yesterday it sounded like the same guy I had install my double door 20 years ago. The main spring which counter weights the door broke. so it lasted 20 years — pretty good.
Very helpful over the phone — would have sold me a main spring if I’d wanted to install myself but car was stuck in garage so I couldn’t go get it. His man came out this morning 9 AM and fixed it quickly and charged only a modest amount which included replacing a shorted wire after troubleshooting why sometimes the door stopped as soon as it started. Excellent! Friendly too. Every time I call — about once every 5 years, they can tell me over the phone what the problem is then sell me the part or come out and fix it. Great business.

I bought a garage door from this company about 5 years ago and called them recently to have the rubber molding replaced at the bottom of the door. It seems a couple of chipmunks had eaten through a corner of the molding and I didn’t want any unneeded friends in the garage this winter.
The guy I spoke with at Ann Arbor Door didn’t seem interested in my small project and quoted me a price of $ 145 for the job. He ‘dismissed’ me on the phone by saying «Well think about it and call me back if you are interested.» And then he hung up.
Well, I dismissed him by calling another company who did the same work for about half the price. And I am thrilled at the quality of work that was done. Need I say more?

Fast, reasonably priced, knowledgeable staff on the phone and at the house, considerate of timing issues. Overall, couldn’t imagine this being easier or more convenient. The actual repair (torsion spring replacement) took less than a half an hour. Strongly recommend and will be using AADS for any future garage door repairs.

Paul from AADS, Inc, fixed our twisted, mangled, gnarly garage door in maybe 20 minutes. Friendly and Skilled. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was fixed. Ask for Paul, he rocks.
They also let you call-​in payment to the office if you don’t have it on you. Pretty cool. Great experience.

Called the morning of a snow storm around 9am to get someone to fix our garage door (broken spring and some other unknown problem with opener). A man was here by noon, walked into the garage, diagnosed the unknown problem instantly, and fixed both the spring and the gear in about 30 minutes. Great service, professional, fair prices. I highly recommend if you don’t want to deal with any hassles.

They were good at explaining options, good at installation, and have stocked the replacements I needed because I keep losing my remote garage door opener (not their fault).
