Very friendly, professional woman. Incredible baker! Have used her on many occasions for sheet cakes and she’s always bent over backwards to work with my schedule and even fit me in at the last minute. (I’m calling her soon for a new cake I need done!)

Cakes by Rubina saved the day and delivered an amazing cake and cupcakes to our son for his bday! So nice and accommodating! Love them!

I live in Florida and my mom lives in Michigan. I decided to order from Rubina to save money instead of using my go to cake lady in FL and having her ship it. I feel that my mothers 50^th birthday cake was completely rushed. It «lightly» reflected the picture I asked for, and the taste was not that good. Because my mother has not ever had a 3D cake before she was happy but, I’ve ordered numerous 3D cakes from creative cakes by dawn (my go to cake lady in FL) in which she provides, me time after time with outstanding designs and taste, so I know what I should have been presented with. I think Rubina is overpriced for the quality of work she gave. I’m not impressed and I feel robbed. The cake was dry. I’m just disappointed, I saw some of her cakes online and I was expecting the same quality, it was clear she really rushed thru making this cake. I think Sam’s Club or Kroger could have had a better tasting cake. :/.

After reading the reviews and looking at her cakes on the website I was really excited to order my boyfriend’s 30^th birthday cake from her. I sent her a photo of the exact way I wanted the cake and even further detailed photos of what I wanted. I have to say I was extremely disappointed when I picked the cake up. It wasn’t at all what I ordered. Then Rubina said that the cake wasn’t big enough to do what I had asked, but not once did she tell me my requests couldn’t be accommodated because of the size. Had I known I would have ordered a larger cake. Not to mention everything on the original cake was made from fondant and when I picked up mine, it was just printed edible paper laid on some fondant. She did try to remedy situation by giving me a $ 10 discount, but when I’m already paying $ 80 for a cake, I would have expected it to be right.
The taste of the cake itself was okay, nothing extraordinary. Sadly I’ve had better cakes from a supermarket. I really wanted his birthday cake to be something special, and it was just mediocre. The only good thing about the day was my boyfriend thought the cake was awesome looking.

Pros: I got what I requested and the cake was pretty good and beautiful.
Semi-​con: definitely not a sweet frosting. It wasn’t bad cake, just not what I was expecting. I know some people despise the sweet frosting. I hadn’t read any reviews that said the frosting wasn’t the usual sweet sweet — so I hope the helps the next person.
Con: Was difficult to get quotes from her.

Rubina made a beautiful block M cake for my son’s senior recital at UM. Everyone asked where we got it. It was a beautiful centerpiece to our table. The chocolate cake with mocha buttercream filling was delicious and everyone loved it. I was afraid we would have tons left over, but the majority of it was eagerly consumed. Even passers by took pictures of the cake. It was even delivered right to the recital hall.

My husband and I used Cakes by Rubina for our August 17^th wedding, and our experience was wonderful! Rubina was very kind and informative. We were on a strict budget and she was willing to answer all the questions I had and make suggestions in order to keep the price point where we needed it. I am lactose intolerant, so I wanted regular dairy-​based cupcakes for my guests and a vegan top tier for my husband and me. We were nervous because there aren’t too many people out there who can pull off moist vegan cakes, but we were completely blown away. The top tier was a DELICIOUS Raspberry/​lemon and I heard from multiple guests that the cupcakes were the best they’d ever had! What a fabulous surprise! There was a variety of Lemon 2, Raspberry/​lemon and Strawberry cream. The (cup)cake (s) were beautiful and she pulled off my desire to utilize my bright wedding colors (mandarin orange and canary yellow with hints of peacock blue), but balance them with lots of classy ivory. It all came together perfectly!
To top it off, my husband loves shoes, and I gave Rubina a pic of some really cool wingtips to make into a groom’s cake. She nailed it! My husband was floored… so Happy!!! And it tasted no less yummy-​yummy-​for-​my-​tummy than it’s counterparts. Cakes by Rubina was a major player in my wedding being a dream come true. Thank you! I highly recommend her, and if ever I’m planning an event in my home town again, I will absolutely use her again!

i typically don’t care for cakes — i was sent a berry cream cake, which was stupendous. the icing was a bit too rich for me, but the cake itself was absolutely fantastic. it had was lovely moist density, had the right amount of sugar, and every layer was perfectly alike in consistency. a small plus was the delivery, their person managed to coordinate the delivery to pull a surprise on the receiver, presented in a nice box with a message etc. definitely recommended for a quality gift.

Amazing! I ordered a camera from Rubina for my husband’s surprise tenure party. I expected a small flat cake with a small fondant shaped camera on top of it. But I got this phenomenal huge camera shaped cake (it was my husband’s camera style), and it impressed everyone. My husband was so touched and moved, I can’t recommend her highly enough. She worked with me over email, delivered for a small fee ($ 10), and all we had to do was sit back and enough the wonderful decorative treat.

I ordered a custom cake for my boyfriend’s birthday party in the shape of his favorite animé character. Cakes by Rubina was first of all very helpful and nice. They were in constant correspondance with me and stayed within the budget I asked. In the end, the cake was amazing. I was impressed, my boyfriend was impressed and all of his friends were envious of the incredible cake. It exceeded my expectations.
If I need another custom cake made, I would definitely go back to Cakes by Rubina!!!

Rubina does an excellent job working with you to help you decide the exact assortment of cupcakes that would be appropriate based on age and occasion!
I ordered the carrot cupcakes for my friend’s birthday and had her deliver them with a personalized note. I loved how personalized the whole experience was — and the cupcakes were described as the word’s best cupcakes!
Rubina was a very sweet lady and extremely easy to work with. I highly recommend her service (and her cupcakes)!
