Looks like this place has closed — at least it definitely appeared that way last night.

Drove straight here for lunch from cleveland, Ohio,(and badly in need of a bathroom Break!) only to roll up to find the windows covered in brown paper and the door locked on Saturday 3⁄14. Nothing on the website would lead us to believe it was closed. Dang.

I went there recently and ordered a Jus’ Veggies sandwich with soup. Everything tasted great. But the sandwich was so small it was almost comical. Maybe they were at the end of the loaf where the slices are smaller, but that’s not an excuse. Oddly the napkin dispenser there seemed to be stocked w/the wrong kind of napkin, and I spent a couple minutes trying to extract a napkin. I ultimately gave up. I want to like this place, but I’ll be avoiding it for a while in the hope that the new owners will review everything and bring the place up to a higher standard.

Just my first experience at Jazzy Veggie. I went with my friend on one of my «cheat days» so I really wanted to scour the menu for something blissful and greasy. Greasy is hard to find here! I ordered an enchilada and some sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were yummy, and crinkly which was a bonus surprise. The enchilada was truly a burrito with a bunch of salsa on top. My favorite part of the«enchiladas» was the rice side and the salsa actually. The bean and potato filling of the dish itself was a bit bland and could have used a little extra love. That being said I love the variety of things on the menu and the vibe of the place.

The food is pretty great. They do a nice job of making vegan options taste good. Although it’s supposed to be healthy fast food, the orders take a while to come out. If you don’t mind waiting a little bit for your food, then try it out. Sweet potato burger and Bello sandwich are yummy, as are their potstickers.

People are very friendly, good is fairly good — I’ve only tried the crab cake and potstickers. The crab cake is good, given the price 8 for 2. The potstickers are okay. I might come back and try their sweet potato burger and the salads.

I’m not vegetarian, but I love my simple favorites here. Great flavor and variety. Can’t vouch for all meals, but I’ve been eating the balsamic greens, potstickers, and veggie stir-fry at least once a week for the better part of this year. My body never complains and that is becoming more and more rare. The atmosphere is casual and cozy and I’ve never felt strange as a table-for-one. Easy seating for groups too. Staff is cool and not intrusive, which is nice when you’ve gotten tired of being asked how your meal is going in between each bite at other spots.

This would have been 4 stars had it not been for the service. I placed a carry out order thinking that it would be quicker. Unfortunately, this was not the case. When I arrived, the person working asked me what my order was and I stated it was the sweet potato quinoa burger. He stated that he had gotten distracted and did not start the order but stated that he would removed the«carry out fee»(25 cents). At least that was something for my inconvenience I guess… I can’t complain too much because I enjoyed the burger. It was unexpectedly sweet(yes I know it is made from SWEET potato) but I’ve not had any sweet potatoes that sweet. I didn’t really taste any quinoa. The burger was kind of mushy and I wish it was a little bit firmer, maybe should have more quinoa. I’ll be back because I enjoyed the food. Hopefully, whoever will be working the next time will be less distracted.

Like a few other reviewers, I really wanted to love this place! It’s in a great location close to the parking garage and right on Main Street; they’ve got to be great, right? Ehh. They’re fine. It’s nothing to write home about ATALL. This time around I had the Garlic Cream Pesto Pasta and a side of Sweet Potato Fries. After indulging in Seva’s fantastic yam fries, I found myself extremely disappointed by Jazzy Veggie’s. They were frozen crinkle cut fries with a side of ketchup. The pasta was attractive and looked quite delicious, but I found both the flavor and texture so nondistinct. The flavor was okay, but it was just a mush of the flavor. The time I visited Jazzy Veggie previously, I had a burger. The burger was somewhere between a slider and a regular burger on the smaller side. I recall it being pretty tasteful, but it was a bi expensive for the size. Overall, I do enjoy Jazzy Veggie for having so many vegetarian options. It’s always a relief to finally be able to order everything off of the menu! I’ll give them a few more tries with different things on the menu, but for now, I find their food pretty average.

If you are looking for quick and delicious vegan/vegetarian food, this is a good spot to stop off at. In the middle of all of the expensive restaurants on Main St., is this reasonably-priced café. You order at the counter and then the friendly staff brings out your food. Or, you can order delivery. The delivery time was about an hour – but they say that it will take that long and the food stays reasonably warm. –Butternut Squash Soup: so deliciously creamy and thick – perfect for a freezing Ann Arbor day. Slightly sweet, they add the perfect amount of salt to balance the flavors of the veggies. The croutons are essentially pieces of very toasted and well spiced and grained bread. Yum. Definitely a winner. –Sautéed Balsamic Greens & Onions: the balsamic really pops among the cooked crunchy spinach and onions – almost too much though. It’s very salty and overly tangy so a few bites are enough. –Mystery Soup?: my side for the burger was supposed to be plantain chips, but instead I got some sort of a minestrone – one only made with spinach and chickpeas. It has a nice flavoring but I’m more of a creamy soup fan. –Sweet Potato Quinoa Burger(seasoned with roasted garlic & fresh herbs): the wheat bun is lovely and adds a creaminess to the burger. That patty itself is quite mushy and has a lot of crunch with the bits of quinoa throughout, yet I don’t really taste the sweet potato, garlic or herbs. It’ more like a red quinoa bland oatmeal cake. I like the curry mayo – refreshing and lightly spiced almost like chipotle mayo. It was fine but the bun had more of a taste than the actually patty. –Spicy Sensation(chipotle veggie sausage, onions and peppers in blackened seasoning, chipotle aioli): it’s quite spicy. I love how the bread is toasted – crunchy, yet also soft so that when you bite down, the insides don’t fall out. The dressing is your typical hot mayo-ranch type but the sausage is nicely spicy and has a nice texture. The onions are a nice add-on. You will have a nasty taste in your mouth though for a day. FINALVERDICT: The food is quite fresh and I’d be curious to try other items on the menu – but hopefully not everything leaves my mouth feeling gross with a nasty taste.

Meh. The bread on a sandwich really makes or break the whole thing, and unfortunately, it broke the Bello. The interior was pretty tasty — sauteed portabello’s and a nice aioli-like sauce. But a) there wasn’t enough of the fillings to justify a $ 7 sandwich, and b) they were stuck between two pieces of grocery-store sliced multigrain that eventually got soggy from the sauce. Also, I’m still hungry.

We’ve been to Jazzy Veggie a handful of times. On one occasion the person at the counter didn’t understand what I meant by veggie cheese(as cheese itself is not vegetarian and as many vegetarian restaurants offer rennet-free vegetarian cheese as well as vegan cheese-like options, probably the most familiar brand of which is Daiya cheese). At another visit a person at the counter was upset that I was talking on the phone near the door(outside the restaurant) and asked me to politely leave the area. The problem, which I mentioned to him, was that my group was ordering food inside. I know they’ve had an issue with some groups of people milling around outside their restaurant and sitting in the outdoor seats that are meant for customers. None of the above is really a big deal but it is worth noting if it happens to others. What I thought could be improved was the portion size. The enchilada, the stir fry, the quesadilla all are pretty tiny in portion size and a terrible value for being some of the higher priced items on the menu. The flavor, as well, is not distinctive enough. To a point everything seems to taste the same. The muffaletta I ordered was one striking exception, as it was very unique in taste with a nice combination of sourness and tanginess, but again it was so small. I could have used at least one other of those. I commend the creativity of the owner and I hope that they continue to refine portion sizes and flavor. We need to keep the good vegetarian and vegan restaurants that we have so I hope that you Unilocalers give Jazzy Veggie a try too.

Went here for lunch the other day. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the food was pretty bland. We ordered the sweet potato quinoa burger, the black bean burger, and the brown rice with curried vegetables. The black bean patty had some spice to it, which made it quite tasty, but the quinoa sweet potato patty wasn’t very flavorful. The burger buns were whole wheat, but in that squishy grocery-store way where you know it’s mostly coloring rather than whole grain that makes them brown. I would have appreciated higher quality bread, perhaps a crusty wheat bun from Zingerman’s? The side of curried rice was pitiful. It was a tiny scoop of lukewarm rice, cold vegetables, and coconut milk at the bottom of a coffee mug(they didn’t even fill up the cup!). The vegetables looked and tasted like they came out of a frozen bag of mixed veggies. The menu has many creative ideas for vegetarian cuisine, but the execution is lacking. If you want to showcase plant-based food, you need to spring for the best quality ingredients and know how to coax a lot of flavor out of them. It is possible! In a town with no other veggie options, I might go here more, but in Ann Arbor, there are so many places that do vegetarian food in flavorful and innovative ways that I probably won’t bother coming back.

This place is great. I love any establishment that offers enjoyable vegan cuisine but Jazzy Veggie does it completely different. Most vegan options at restaurants are, basically, the ‘standard American diet’ except veganized. And I’m fine with that, because good food is good food. But this place also offers food options that are unique and creative, and I couldn’t be happier about it. They offer great pizzas, sandwiches, and — most exciting of all — desserts! They’ll love it if you stop in but not nearly as much as you will.

Went here for the first time today with some vegetarians and some non-vegetarians. Had the Bello burger and it was surprisingly delicious, it’s with Chipotle aioli and has a kick to it. A friend and I split the sweet potato fries, they were a little burnt but otherwise good. I would have given Jazzy Veggie 5 out of 5 stars EXCEPT it took a while to get our meals and also it’s a bit pricey. My sandwich was about $ 8 and only included a pickle, and the fries were $ 3.25 extra which isn’t cheap. I had tried their potstickers at Taste of Ann Arbor and they’re delicious, but those are $ 7 too, so it came down to me either having that as my meal or the sandwich, so I chose the sandwich to try something new.

I hate to give Jazzy Veggie a «Meh» but… meh. I really wanted to love Jazzy Veggie. I’m a vegetarian and just moved to Ann Arbor from overseas, where my food choices were pretty limited. I feel like I couldn’t have come to a better town than Ann Arbor for delicious vegetarian and vegan food, and Jazzy Veggie was high on my list of places to try right away! When I went in with a friend at 7:30 on a Saturday night, the place was empty. We figured, since it was Main Street in Ann Arbor on a Saturday night, we wouldn’t have missed the dinner rush, but apparently we had. We were the only two in place, besides the chef and the guy who was trying to put up the chairs. Their website said they were open until 9, so this was a little awkward. We ordered at the counter and went to get silverware, but they were out, apparently from the«dinner rush» and we were given plastic. The cups for tap water cost an additional ten cents, but they’re compostable, and they were up front about the little extra charge, which was nice! The guy who took our order at the counter was very enthusiastic about the menu and helpful, too. The menu is quite large, and neither my friend nor I are used to being able to eat everything on a restaurant’s menu, so we were overwhelmed. He was knowledgeable and helped point us in the right direction. Unfortunately, when our food came, the portions were shockingly tiny. If you’re going to charge $ 10 for a veggie burger(sweet potato and quinoa), it should have a bit more to it. They could at least use smaller plates so that the food looks bigger in comparison! You eat with your eyes, too! Come on, guys! My friend said the burger was great, she just wished she had a little more to enjoy! I ordered the Inca Queen, a spicy mix of quinoa and black beans that was pretty darn good, but came with quite possibly the tiniest portion of sautéed kale I’ve ever seen in my life. Why so skimpy, Jazzy Veggie?! Throughout our tiny meal, the staff made it pretty clear they were trying to close up(roughly an hour before their website says they close), which made us feel pretty awkward, despite the fact that we had just gotten our food! At one point, a man who was probably the owner came out, and asked us how everything was. He was smiling and friendly, I appreciate that he came out to check on us, but it didn’t make us feel any less rushed. All in all, I wouldn’t come here again. In a town like Ann Arbor, where vegan and vegetarian fare abounds, I’m a little sad to say I’d be happier spending my hard-earned money elsewhere.

I really wanted to like this place! Sadly, my experience was just mediocre. I came here a year or two ago with my mom and got the Bello sandwich… I LOVED it. I wasn’t into vegetarian/vegan food back then and still was totally impressed by the flavors in my sandwich. I had great memories of the place from that one experience and begged my boyfriend to take me again. We went today, and it seems that things have begun to go a bit sour at Jazzy Veggie. I got the Sicilian pizza and my boyfriend got the Wolverine sandwich. The pizza was okay, but the crust tasted like a cracker– dry, crunchy and bland. It definitely could have used some Earth Balance and garlic or some more spices to boost the flavor. My boyfriend’s sandwich was pretty underwhelming. The way he described it? «Very edible». I have a feeling that wasn’t a good thing! He told me that he definitely didn’t want to return ever again, so, yeah. It’s really too bad, I feel like Ann Arbor could always use more vegetarian/vegan cuisine, and Jazzy Veggie has so much potential!

The good: there is sidewalk seating on Main Street, which is one of the greatest things in Ann Arbor. The bad: The food didn’t taste very good. I’m a veteran of fake meat, and this did not do it for me. We had a wrap and a muffaletta sandwich, and my friend wasn’t able to take more than 3 bites of his meal. The sandwiches are plated with a small handful of plantain chips and a teaspoon of coleslaw — it makes for a very empty looking plate. The service was friendly, but this is not the place for me.
