This place is filthy! Rude staff, bad food. I’ll keep driving the 20 minutes to the treehouse in Chelsea.

Love the play structure and it’s pretty clean for an indoor play place. But, staff is really rude which bummed me out at my last visit. I was reprimanded for bringing snacks for my kids. I understand being peanut free, but I don’t feel I should have to pay for expensive junk food. So, that being said, great for the kids! Cutsomer service could use some tweaking.

I was rather shocked by the poor condition of the facility and play equipment. I can imagine its rather difficult to keep up with maintenance, but the state of the Ann Arbor facility was appalling. My family has been to other Jungle Java locations, and many other comparable play facilities. Frankly the Ann Arbor facility does a disservice to the Jungle Java brand.
Every painted surface was in need of repair. The play equipment was dirty and many of the cushioned surfaced need to be repaired or replaced. But the most appalling, and easily addressed, issue was the layer upon layer of dust and grime. When you operate a play facility for children, cleanliness is paramount.

My kids loved it 18m old boy 2– 3 yr old girls. They were able to move around the structures without help. They didn’t like the food though. The cost wasn’t bad if you buy the pass or a groupon. They only had one poor girl working when we were there around lunchtime. She was having to check people in, take orders, make & deliver food. Needless to say she had no time to clean the play area or bathrooms. It’s a good concept but I definitely wasn’t as impressed as my kids & we will be checking out Safari playground next time instead

I have been to many kids fun place. Certain location becomes favourite because of the staff and the way that place is organized. Well, I would say a place is always known by the people who works there. They are the one who representing their work place.
This place is pretty good and well organized.
I have been here many times. But today I met a girl, who works there, name «LAUREN».She welcomed me with such a charm n smiling face. I really felt good. She spend some time with my son too. She gave him stamps. She is so soft, polite while talking to all kids.
She makes the place worth to come in. She is very attentive n active towards all kids, when parents sometimea get busy on their phonesn laptops.
She is just so good. I never saw such a caring person at this age. I love this place n her too. Lauren makes a difference to the work culture.

So this place is great! Excellent spot to let you little ones get some exercise when the rain or snow hits MI. The coffee is surprisingly very good and the toddlers can have a blast here for just a couple bucks. I always use a coupon that I receive in the weekly junk mail for $ 2 entry. Adults are free. There is a baby friendly area that is safe for walkers who aren’t yet stable enough to prevent themselves from falling and gives parents comfort that if they do fall, they will hit a big pillow thing. There is a much larger area for bigger kids (18months+ or so).
The only downside of this place is that the large play area has some VERY dirty/​dusty areas that are visible when you play at the top. This is gross, it’s as if it has NEVER been cleaned. If you have to crawl up to follow a little tot, you will notice this and likely be grossed out! Makes me concerned about the overall cleanliness of the joint.
I should mention this to them…

TL;DR Bait and switch with the wi-​fi. Don’t go if you need internet access, or bring your own hotspot.
My 2 kids (6 and 10) love it here, and they will play until they are completely exhausted. It’s best when you’re the first one there, otherwise it is unbearably loud with kids screaming and squealing. I will tolerate the crowds and the noise only because my kids like it, and I can get some work done.
This most recent time I took the kids there only because the kids were going stir crazy on a rainy day but I needed internet access for an urgent project. When we got there, there was no internet available. They (reluctantly) reset it, but nobody could get access. They claimed it was overloaded from too many people using it, even though I only counted 4 people with devices. I understand that there can be technical difficulties, so I just asked for my money back and we would leave. No dice. There are signs all over the place advertising their high-​speed internet access, but they won’t reimburse you if it doesn’t work. To me, that’s a bait-​and-​switch, and completely unethical. Either be up front about what you are able to offer, or give a refund when you can’t live up to your promises.
Next time I’ll drive the extra few miles to go to Chelsea.

Dirty! Its pretty gross out of sight of the parents and not great within sight. Not a fan.

8 $ for entrance than they charge $ 2 for cup full of ice with no refill. They write on their machine no refill in font’s size 10. Don’t do refill but also don’t sale ice for $ 2!
The place is small but the children may have fun for about an hour
Cleaning — depends on the day, middle week usually clean. On weekends it is questionable.
I compare it to the Tree house and they got 2 stars. Management at the tree house is much friendlier and the place is bigger and better seats to parents.

Don’t forget to ask for some complimentary knee pads, if you’re going to be crawling around in there. The place definitely could use some dusting. The dessert coffees are pretty good. A great place to go to get the kids out of your hair and relax with some coffee and wifi. If you are going to have a party there, it gets PRETTY EXPENSIVE fast.

So… were to begin? This location is much better then the Canton, MI location. They are cleaner and the place smells clean. The food isn’t great but your typical kids food aka chicken fingers, fries, nachos, and the token fruit cups. They do have coffee, lattes, and smoothies which are edible. I HIGHLY recommend going on a weekday morning. The place is PACKED on the weekends and after school gets out on the weekdays and that makes the environment not so great especially if you have a younger child. The play structures themselves were kept pretty clean (an employee came out with sanitizer and was spraying and wiping the toddler equipment while we were there). There are dust bunnies etc underneath the hanging portions of the large structure but, its not like your kid could possibly reach that section anyways so I don’t see why it would bother anyone. The padding inside the large structure could stand to be changed as it is wearing quite thin in some areas especially right before the entrances to the slides… so be warned adults, go slowly in these areas or you will be sure to bruise your knees. This is why I knocked the rating down to three stars… my knees hurt. It also would be nice if a staff member would keep an eye on the toddler section to ensure that older children don’t get in there and play but, they do not. The staff has always been polite to me. I would recommend this place as a great way to spend a morning with your child.

Holy cow. We went on a Saturday, late morning, and got the last spot in the parking lot. I immediately weighed the pain of going in on a jam-​packed day against the tears and drama that would ensue if I told the kids we weren’t going after all. We took the plunge and went in. It was extremely busy, but we grabbed the last open table and off the kids went. Even though it was crazy and loud, my boys had a great time. The brewed coffee I bought was awful (cold and weak), but my husband liked his latte. Admission for 2 kids, 2 coffees and a water came to $ 20.60, which makes it a cheap way to spend a couple of hours. We’ll be back.

Kids had a blast! Much better than I recall from a couple years ago. Coffee was terrible though. Tried 2 kinds … One dark roast and one light roast … Both were weak. Tasted like they didn’t use enough coffee to brew. So our visit wasn’t as enjoyable for me as it was for the kids :-(

I took my almost 2 ½ year old here today and he had a great time! Such a great time I didn’t even have time to try the coffee bar because my son was just raring to go! The smaller toddler area was great for him, but eventually he wanted to go on the bigger stuff. It was just him and me, and the place was packed so it was a little difficult to get around. Without my husband there or a friend I had no one to watch my bag and my coat etc. And when my son got scared I had to climb up the structures with him (and my purse). I didn’t like having him out of my sight since the place was so crowded. I can see it being great for older kids that you don’t have to watch as closely maybe actually getting to relax with a cup of coffee while your kid plays.
The only odd thing is that I saw a sign on one part of the structure that said 80 lb weight limit. I was under the impression that adults were allowed on the structures (I saw a few) and even so, I’m less than 2×80 lbs and if I had gotten off more than 2 80 lb kids would have replaced me so I’m not sure what that was about.

I can see Jungle Java being great for older kids who can roam the play structures solo and burn off energy while their parents watch from the café area. For toddlers and infants? Meh.
Upon hearing that there was a dedicated toddler area, the mister and I took our 16-​month-​old twins to JJ in hopes of relieving our collective cabin fever. Said area consists of a smallish two-​story play structure, which was just too advanced for our girls to play on safely. We spent an exhausting half hour climbing up the structure with them in order to deter them from killing themselves, either by flinging themselves off the top platform or falling headfirst down the slides. And there was really nothing else for them to do, not even something to handle like the plastic steering wheels that are so common on play structures.
I also wish the toddler area were gated; its entrance is «blocked» by a large foam cushion that has a toddler-​sized gap on either side (yep, the twins figured that out) and is constantly moved by parents and kids, providing an easy, attractive point of escape for a fast-​moving toddler, even a supervised one.
Some of the equipment and mats were pretty worn down, though I suppose that’s to be expected. There were also two giant, hazardous potholes in the parking lot that I’m hoping are just the result of a snowy winter and will be repaired soon; we’ll see.
The café is spacious with a lot of drink and food options, but I wish there had been kids’ meal options healthier than the available mac & cheese, hot dogs, and chicken tenders. Still, I’d be happy to plop down in one of their cushy chairs with a coffee once my girls graduate to the much cooler-​looking big-​kid structure.

I can see why the little ones love this place. They have a great coffee bar but for being a place in Ann Arbor, however, I would expect them to have healthier food options for the children. The place was busy but fairly clean. Seems like the business wants to keep the adults caffeinated so the kids can play? I don’t know but the parents seemed happy too.
We were visiting for a niece’s birthday. Those of us adults without small children attempted to find peace in the party room while the others played. No luck. The room they put us in was HOT, stuffy and it echoed like crazy, which made chatting impossible. Everyone wound up hanging out, outside of the party room because it was so uncomfortable. Looking around, it looked like this room was the only one with a door. Perhaps the other rooms wouldn’t be as bad, with one open wall to the play area.
The only other concern I found was lack of supervision in the play area. Parents are permitted to play in the structure with the children, which means if there is a kid on kid accident, the one parent present might lose it on the other child. Which I heard a mother, up in the structure, beginng yelling at a child that popped out of the slide I was standing next to. She was accusing the girl of purposely striking her child. The little girl accused actually faced the mom up in the structure and said she was sorry and it was an accident and tried to explain what happened. This little girl was probably 5. I stepped into the line on sight of this mother yelling at this little girl and she stopped and quickly turned away. Perhap the mother was correct, perhaps the little girl did strike her child on purpose, but an adult yelling at someone else’s child was getting out of hand. There was no regulating or policing of by ANY of the staff in the play area. Perhaps it is their policy.

This is my go to place to wear out my son before bed if I feel he is still full of energy. It really gets the job done, though I’m not sure I would come here as often if it was not virtually across the street from my house. The coffee and snacks are a bit lacking in my opinion, if there were more appetizing food options, I would be a big fan!

Came here with a group. Had a lot of fun playing in their large play-​structure thing. If you’ve never been here, it’s basically like an upgraded McDonald’s play-​place.
They have a Café on the side where you get get food and drink. The prices are reasonable, and the people working there are very friendly and accommodating.
The new laser room is awesome. You know you’ve wanted to try that spy thing ever since you saw it in a movie.

I have gone to several Jungle Javas, in fact, I’ve visited this one many times. But today I was horrified by the broken/​ripped equipment. There was one rip that I’ve reported each time I go. Several months ago, I saw a child shimmy through several ripped ropes and made it to where he could have fallen off a ledge. I pulled the child out and reported it then. Since this occurred. I’ve seen several attempts to fix it with duct tape, but no real investment to repair it properly. I always feel like I need to be with my children on the equipment, not because they aren’t physically able to climbed, but rather because I don’t trust the equipment.
Today, there was a second area I saw that needed repair– this time on a suspension bridge. Two snaps had come off, leaving plenty of room for the bottom half of a child to fall out. Did I mention it was about 15 feet in the air? I saw it, took a picture, and got my kids off of there. I also reported it this time. While I was told they would fix it (as I’ve been told for month) — they continued to accept payments from customers and let kids up there. I told the employee that this was a liability. Waiver or no waiver, broken equipment is a huge liability.
Time to get some real safety inspection procedures in place. I won’t be back until I hear that this place has gotten their act together.

Having been to two Jungle Javas so far, I have to say the toddler area at this one was the best I’ve seen. There were enough slides and stuff to do that I didn’t end up having to haul my adult sized bottom through the ‘full-​sized’ kid play area. My almost-​two-​year-​old was entertained within sight of the tables.
For food and drinks, all the fun drinks listed for adults are still coffee, even if they sound more chocolate-​y. If you want hot chocolate, order hot chocolate. I learned this the hard way. The kids loved the hummous and bread.
The facilities are great, as I’d expect from a place geared toward little kids. The family restroom has a changing table, wipes, and even free diapers.
If you’re looking for the best time to visit — as with all Jungle Javas — we try to get there before the bigger kids get out of school. We stayed later than that once and nearly got trampled by a herd of six-​year-​olds. Scary stuff. Mid-​morning is much more fun for toddlers and pre-​schoolers.
