Nice quality cute spot definitely coming back. Huge delicious nachos, great service. Everybody enjoyed their meal. Perfectly grilled asparagus.

The place was nearly empty and service was not super friendly. I ordered the grilled tofu with farro and roasted veggies. The tofu was completely unseasoned, I like and eat tofu all the time, but it needs seasoning. Always.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch with n a recommendation. We both ordered a burger, which was very delicious. For lunch, this was very pricey. It was $ 12 for a sandwich and $ 3 for a drink x2 felt a bit much for lunch. We don’t live in Ann Arbor and I understand prices might be a little up, but I wouldn’t pay $ 12 for a burger again. Otherwise, it was good.

Food is good, and great choices for gluten intolerances. It is clean, and they also have a very diverse menu. I love a restaurant that has both boots and tables which they do. Service and food were good, but not great still enough for me to want to come back.

I LOVE the Cuban sandwich at Red Hawk. I’ve had it maybe a dozen different times and it was only just less-than-awesome once(hey, every place has its moments so I’m not gonna hold that against them). Usually a good selection of drinks and draft beer and friendly service. It can get packed at night so sometimes bellying up to the bar is your best bet for quicker service. Definitely try the Cuban with their steak fries and maybe a side of mayo for them.

Great food but on a recent visit our server was terrible. She rarely came to table and practically threw the bill at us and fled. Observed her being friendly and nice to other tables but was curt and impatient with us from the outset.

Great tasting food. Food is made quickly and wait staff is friendly. Good drink selection as well.

Love it! I’ve walked past this place on State St. many times and never gone in. I think I thought it was for an older crowd? Wanted dinner around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without an hour wait. It was busy when we got there but the two of us were able to get a table right away. Their happy hour menu looked short but decent and they had some interesting-sounding specials. We both ended up getting the Classic Red Hawk Burger. Wait for our food wasn’t too bad and it was well worth it. I am a proudly obsessed meatatarian and this was one burger done right. And well-done just as I had asked. Thick and juicy. Good bun. Good sauce options on the table. And my toppings: tillamook cheddar, grilled mushrooms, and grilled onions were great. Came with well-made steak fries too. The burger and fries came out to about $ 11. It was late and we were going grocery shopping so we didn’t try any of their drinks but they have a full bar and what appears to be a good spread. Definitely a place to which I’d want to return!

First time to this place and I have to say I was let down. Starting with the atmosphere, nothing but older white people. Not that there’s anything wrong with white people, or old people for that matter, I just felt a tad bit out of place considering there’s so much more diversity and livelihood right outside the front door. On to the food, We started off with an appetizer, the calamari, and I must say it was very chewy in comparison to the calamari served at j. alexanders(first time trying calamari was there and I loved it so much I thought it would be as wonderfully delicious anywhere else) I was very let down. For an entrée I couldn’t decide between the Mac n cheese or the grilled cheese. The menus really paint a picture for you, however the actual food didn’t live up to my expectations. I opted for the Mac n cheese and added chorizo sausage for 2.50 more. Bad idea. The sausage was like ground beef and tasted like really salty taco meat /chili meat. Ruined the Mac n cheese. They went kinda heavy on the liquor in the patron margarita so that was a plus. And as for the service, eh. Couldn’t tell you the waitresses name if my life depended on it. She couldn’t have cared less if we were there. Not attentive at all. The one highlight of the whole night was her being able to split the price of the appetizer onto our separate bills. My individual total came to 34.67. I don’t tip. That’s just me. Unless I’m at the nail salon or if you’re service made me feel special like you actually care. I signed off for my 34.67 total only to check my bank account later to see I was charged an extra 20%! I didn’t tip that bcus the food sucked and she didn’t deserve it. I still need to call up there to review their policy on tipping bcus she did not deserve even the petty 7 dollars. WILLNOTBEBACK. If you’re looking for a good time with you friends with great food great prices and great service, AVOIDTHEREDHAWK.

This restaurant is the perfect cross between student dining and real-life dining. It’s also casual but can be nice at the same time. The portions are a little small(especially for the price), but it’s very good, and they have the best pickles.

My favorite place to eat while in Ann Arbor! The service was great and the food is delicious. I had a burger and fries and although I was stuffed halfway through eating it, I couldn’t put it down. Then menu was diverse enough and I felt that prices were very reasonable. It gets fairly busy in the evening so it felt a little packed and our food took a little longer than expected but overall can’t wait to go back.

As per my previous review, Red Hawk has been a favorite destination for me and my family for many years. No more now. They decided to go in cost cutting mode and now your burger will come with 5(yes, five) fries if you are lucky. When you get your plate, it looks pretty sad. Thinking it was a mistake, we asked the waitress who unapologetically responded that this is their new policy so customers can place additional orders for more, if they want to, and they can charge extra. I guess in the cost cutting process, service was another victim. Our waitress was MIA most of the time we were there and I had to personally take my credit card to the bar counter after waiting long enough for her to show up at the table with the check.

1) The service was really bad. The waiter treated us badly, it seem he was annoyed by our presence. They closed at 10 pm on a Saturday, and literally kicked us out at 10:20. 2) The lamb burger used to be extremely good. It is not anymore, the quality of the food decreased during this summer. 3) For the same prices, you can get better service and better burgers in downtown, not far from State St. 4) This has been one of the worst dinner experiences in AA.

Great experience for my first time. I used to go to school at the University of Michigan, but unfortunately I never had the opportunity to dine here even though I heard much about it. I’m in town on business so dining with co-workers this was a great spot. I had the Lamb Burger with a small order of fries. Fantastic. No one informed me that the sandwiches were sold as ala-carte. I paid more than I was prepared for, but it was certainly worth it. The sweet mustard on the table was amazing. I would totally recommend coming here and would get the same thing I did, again.

I’ve been there a couple times. Always very good service, usually very quick, and very tasty food. It’s your typical American bar fare. Thicker french fries… i like thinner more chrunchy fries. Good place.

When you want something tasty on State Street, without waiting to be seated, this is the place to go! The menu here is eclectic. Sure, you’ve got hot dogs and cheese steaks, but you’ve also got a lamb burger and duck quesadilla — pretty cool! My fiancé and I split the deviled eggs for an appetizer. They were delicious and each one was topped with something different. I tried the tuna sandwich and he tried the crab cakes, both were good. There is also a decent beer and cocktail selection. The atmosphere was fine as was the service. I would give more stars, but nothing quite«stood out» during my experience. Although, based on other reviews, it sounds like I’ll be singing a different tune if I try the lamb burger! I’ll be back!

Finally decided to review this place after having multiple great experiences here. The teriyaki salmon pita is phenomenal, so much so that I always get one whenever I’m visiting Ann Arbor. The salmon is consistently perfectly cooked, and the pickle relish is sweet and crunchy. I usually steer clear of anything teriyaki but this isn’t at all too sweet. Pure deliciousness. «The lamb burger asserted its dominance over my mouth,» says my bf. In a good way. «Best burger I ever had.» The corned beef reuben, regular burgers, and hot dogs are also very good. Opt for one of these over the fish and chips, which is too oily. This place is a bit expensive. While the sandwiches don’t come with a side(just a pickle) though, they are still filling portions.

This review is extremely biased because I’ve always ordered one thing and one thing only from the first time I’ve stepped in here — and that’s the lamb burger. I’m already drooling just typing this but… wow! Granted, I’ve never had anything like it before so I have no idea how such a thing is supposed to taste — but this? This right here? Delish! So if you’re in the area and you need an impromptu bite, definitely try this item on the menu. Hopefully I don’t sway you in the wrong direction.

Red Hawk has one of my favorite late-night happy hours in Ann Arbor – $ 5 cocktails from 10pm to midnight on Thursdays to Saturdays. The«Michigan Cherry» is my usual. I think the beers are fairly cheap during happy hour as well. Just don’t get the food – I haven’t found a single thing that’s edible in my multiple, misguided attempts.

Well, not a favorite in a town with way too many great restaurants to keep going back to even an average one. I started with the seafood gumbo. The menu advertised shrimp and fish in it. I grew up on the gulf coast and know gumbo, and am pretty sure I got chicken gumbo. It was unbalanced and over-spiced. Momma always said that«if you get the roux right you don’t need tomatoes, and anyway tomatoes are a crime in a fine gumbo.» This one had tomatoes. For my entrée I had the southern turkey meatloaf with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The turkey in the meatloaf had been ground too fine, and as a result it was mealy not meaty. I don’t know how they got a lovely burnt-toast char on the sides of the two generous pieces, but I don’t want to know either. Like the gumbo, the spices were laid on too heavily and unbalanced. The mashed potatoes were simply flat. Mix in some cream, or butter, or bacon fat, or turnips. Anything to lift the dish. In addition they were dry, so maybe made too long ago. The creamed corn was the unexpected star of the meal, but only because I love the taste of corn so much. Again, the seasonings were laid on too heavily and unbalanced. I would have preferred the corn without spices altogether. This is my third and likely last visit. As a Born Southerner, what this kitchen calls southern offends my palate. As a foodie who gets to eat out in A2 a lot, there are better choices for good food in the price bracket of Red Hawk, as well as above and below it in price. For the past eighteen months I have come to A2 for business one or two weeks of each month, and have systematically eaten at over fifty restaurants in the downtown area. I’ve been to more of the downtown restaurants than most of the locals at the client.
