Awesome burger! Pretty nice inside. In a strange location, but the food totally makes up for that.

I like burgers extra-rare — actually the term I like to use is «as rare as possible.» Many restaurants won’t make even rare burgers because of the potential for liability in our litigious society, even though they have a disclaimer on the bottom of every page of the menu to protect themselves. Not only will these wonderful folks make a burger the way I like them, the burgers and the fries are delicious every time! My wife doesn’t generally eat burgers, so she has gotten different items from the menu the three times we have eaten at this restaurant. We just moved to Ann Arbor a month or so ago. Each item she has ordered — especially the fish — has also been outstanding. And, the staff is as friendly and helpful as the food is delicious! This is definitely my go-to place for burgers in the Ann Arbor area!!!

Despite the snow and my office closing, I still had to make a doctor visit this afternoon, so ventured out. I hadn’t eaten yet, and Village Pub was a nearby spot for a burger. I’m glad I stopped in! Grabbed a Villager Burger, and it was awesome. In the future, I will make a point of coming here whenever I’m on this side of town.

Best burger in Ann Arbor! It has a nice neighborhood bar feel and a great place to go when you want something casual.

We live close by and go here a lot. The burgers and fries are good and beer selection is ok. It’s a great place for a simple meal. Usually not super crowded, clean, and reasonable service.

Stopped in last night to try the burgers… and got one of the best I’ve had around AA in a while. Meat was cooked to order(medium), bun was fresh, toppings(mushroom/swiss for me) generous and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her cheeseburger and said the fries were excellent. They had no problem with my request to sub coleslaw for fries, and the slaw was good – tender/crisp, not too saucy, pleasant peppery bite. There are better burgers in town, but the VP’s is a few bucks cheaper, and can be enjoyed without parking hassles. Server was welcoming, relaxed, professional. Good draft beer selection. This was actually our second trip – on the first, around 6PM on a Friday a few weeks back, we just poked our head in the door and saw there were no seats. If you go at peak bar times, you might encounter a wait. It was half full when we returned last night, on a Wednesday.

What a find! Great burgers and their french fries are delicious. They’re crunchy on the outside with some type of seasoning. Not sure what it is, but I love it. I’ve had the fajitas and a salad, but the burgers are what keep me coming back. Usually have good drink specials and lots of tvs for watching games. The service is great and I always feel welcome. Definitely recommend!

My family and I have been going here since they opened. Their menu has really come together and there’s something for everyone. The food is delicious, the drinks are great, the atmosphere is chic yet casual, and all for a good price! You won’t be sorry you checked out this little gem. :)

Several years have passed and the Village Pub is still going strong. We go there often with friends. The service is very attentive and the food is good pub fare. It’s a great neighborhood spot!

Not too good, overpriced. Ordered the shrimp and it was in a mayo sauce and super over cooked. Terrible location too.

I want to like Village Pub more than I do. It’s clean, it’s near home, and what I’ve had here has been solid food. The fried calamari appetizer hits it out of the park regularly, and the beer selection is just deep enough to be interesting. Having said that, I’m not crazy about their breaded fries(I’ve started to think of them as «fuzzy fries»), and I’ve yet to have a burger that I’ve ordered«medium» come out anything other than well-done. I’m also bewildered by why they would call their corned beef and coleslaw sandwich a «Reuben.» Without sauerkraut, it’s not a Reuben. It’s a perfectly nice sandwich(the coleslaw is spicy and top-notch), but misnamed. I’ve seen this sandwich referred to as a «Rachel» or an «Astrid» elsewhere. Then there are the TVs. There is no line of sight within the room where there isn’t a TV. Maybe the rest of the world is better at filtering them out than I am, but when I go out, I want to be able to hold an un-distracted conversation with whoever I’m with. I find this very hard to do with color and motion everywhere, tugging at my peripheral vision. The service is hit-or-miss. About half the time I’ve been here, waiting on the tables seemed like it was an afterthought.

It’s a really clean bar that surprises me with how nice people are and great quality of food they make. We have been here multiple times and never got disappointed. Ask for their coleslaw if you like something a little spicy, refreshing and crunchy… love it!

Nice find on the east side of Ann Arbor. Very unassuming strip mall location, but it’s close to my favorite beer store(Falsetta’s), so I suppose I really shouldn’t have been that surprised. Menu is simple bar food, but good quality and price. Beer selection is not huge, but everyone, including the non-American-lager drinker, will find something they like. Solid service, always friendly. Nice option when you want something different from the regular east-side dives.

This place is a cool find. A local, neighborhood bar and grill. The owners are super nice people and are always working. The food seems pretty good, although i havent tried many things, but you can always count on a few good micro brews to be on tap and friendly service. The only drawback to this spot is the hours of operation. They close at like 11 during the week and midnight on the weekend. Good Spot Overall

I’m spending more time in Michigan these days and Village Pub is exactly what this neighborhood needs — a causal bar with some big HDTVs along with good food and drinks. I’ve come a number of times(including two happy hours) and appreciate the fact that the kitchen is not trying to be everything for everyone. The burgers, wings, and similar comfort food are all excellent and the $ 2.00 Labatt on draft during happy hours has made this summer’s heat waves at least bearable! I agree with the other reviewer — bring a cell phone or flashlight if you want to read the menu — it’s as dark as a medieval dungeon! The staff is friendly and I think that Village Pub is doing the right things to become the local grub and grog hangout. One suggestion for the owners: can you add guacamole or avocado to the menu as an add-on for the burgers? Thanks!

I was surprised to find that the Village Pub is more than a strip mall dive, it’s actually a very nicely appointed establishment with well-executed bar food(apps, wings, burgers, sandwhiches, flatbreads, bar-entrees) and great happy hour specials. I had a burger, which they claim to be their specialty, and some wings along with very reasonably priced two-hearteds. All in all I can whole-heartedly recommend, just bring your own company as it isn’t quite a hopping establishment yet.

We had the burgers and they were really good. The service was attentive, and the menu is no frills, but solid. Good selection of beers. We will definitely be back.

I have been wanting to try this place for some time. I love the idea of having a neighborhood restaurant in The Village. I’ve been there twice now and will go back. The menu is basic American pub food. I had the burger both times. Buttery grilled buns are amazing! The burger needed more seasoning, but the meat is good quality and delicious. The cheese on the first burger I had was not melted at all, but the next time I was there, it was melted perfectly. It was the same chef both times. Wings were… meh; wouldn’t order them again. Servers are friendly and always a step ahead of your needs — I love that. What I didn’t love was 7 flat screen televisions. 7!!! And this place is not large. But I guess diners want tvs; it’s very hard to find restaurants without one(but 7!!).

Newly opened and located in a strip mall. Interior is nicely decorated. The walls are adorned with modern art and flat screen tv’s. They have happy hour from 3PM to 6PM. Bud, Bud Light and Labatt drafts in tall mugs(22oz.?) are $ 2.00. Along with the special of half off on appetizers of sliders and wing dings. A good variety of beers to choose from on draft and bottle. The food menu consists of burgers, sandwichs, a few dinners and Cottage Inn Pizzas. Seems the owner has some sort of connection/interest. Staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. It is very dark though. I had to use my cellphone light to be able to read the menu. So if you’re looking for a dimly lit rendezvouz spot this would be it. I do expect this place to become popular in a very short time.

I was excited to hear about the new Village Pub opening so close to home and wanted to try it as soon as possible; this area has been needing a place like this for a long time. Overall we were very pleased with our experience. The atmosphere is very casual, no loud music playing, which was nice, and our waiter was very friendly. They offer a solid selection of beer, and those that we tried(a Magic Hat and a Founders) were excellent. The food they serve is exactly what you’d expect at a pub: juicy burgers, sandwiches, and some salads. The ‘chicken salad salad’ that I ordered is what it sounds like: chicken salad on a bed of lettuce. It was pretty good, though the menu did promise some bread along with it, which was missing. My boyfriend ordered a spicy ‘flame’ burger, which came with fries, and both were great. One minor complaint: the burger was somewhat over-cooked for medium(hopefully they will fix this), but the beef itself was delicious. If you’re ever in the area(or live nearby), Village Pub is definitely a place worth checking out.
