I love this place… but uh… for some reason, when i ordered delivery… the food was awful! .How do you make great food in the restaurant, but your food is bad on delivery? they better fix this soon, or I might just have to make in person visits.

This is in my neighborhood. I’ve been going there for at least 16 years. They have one of the best crab rangoon. Whenever i order more that $ 25 dollars for delivery I always get free egg rolls. Some items they don’t have on the menu like eggs foo young or beef with asparagus because they had on special. But ask for them and they will definitely make it for you. Great service too.

Love picking up from here. I always get the Mongolian beef/chicken and the Kung pao chicken. Also like the crab Rangoon. And the shrimp with curry sauce. Make sure you ask them to make it spicy. Although it’s still not that spicy… I always add more chili powder.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever been to since living in NOVA! Small intimate setting, food is always fresh and good! Had all my dates at this place with the chicks I liked or ones that were DTF. I guess the food was tha t good lol.

Disappointed. I use to go here a lot when they had just first opened and I loved it. Their menu has changed so much since then. I figured I get a bite to eat on my way home. I stopped and ordered the Pepper Steak with brown rice to go.(I have had this many years ago and it was delicious) My first shock was the price! 13.50 $ holy moly have they increased price since I was last there. Anyways that wasn’t my biggest issue. I get home, open up my food and everything is correct with the order but the whole plate of pepper steak pretty much all onions. More than half of the bowl was onions. Did I really just pay 13.50 for onions? Awesome. Besides that, the rest of my steak and peppers were good but I’d definitely have to ask for no onions if I return.

Szechuan Star is a small little Chinese take-out place, located inside the Bradlick Shopping Center. The menu is comparable to other Chinese takeaways, offering items such as egg rolls, fried wonton, steamed/pan-fried dumplings, soups, vegetable/pork/chicken/beef/lamb/seafood entrees, chow mein, chop suey, ‘healthier’ options with brown rice, fried rice, lo mein, etc. I tried their ‘White Meat Chicken’ Fried Rice, and I was actually pretty satisfied with it! The rice itself was hot hot hot out of the wok, filled with plenty of cubed carrots, peas, and onions, and the chicken didn’t look suspect(it was actually slivers of white meat!). Soy sauce packets are available to give the rice an extra oomph; I just wished they had the hot chili oil to add some spice! The hubs enjoyed their hot & sour soup, and he stated that the little fat egg roll was okay. I was pretty happy that the food tasted non-greasy, fresh, and flavorful! :D +‘White Meat Chicken’ fried rice! :D +hot and fresh take-away items +located inside the Bradlick Shopping Center

I was so disappointed the last time I went here. I went for lunch and ordered the General Tso’s. The chicken was disgusting. I couldn’t even eat more than a couple of bites. I didn’t send it back because they are so nice here, but I definitely won’t be going back.

Great service and very sweet owners! You could tell they had a good relationship with their clientele for many years(mostly older customers). Would not be my choice for dine-in(not trendy at all) but delicious food! Great steamed meat dumplings and won ton soup! I’ll be back for carry out!

Every over priced! The food is not even that good. They charge $ 2 more to dine-in menu from carry out menu. I can sit my happy ass at home just to save $ 2 each on every item I order!

Food was excellent, restaurant clean, service fast, and the owners and staff and super nice. Prices are slightly lower than a lot of other places, too, but quality is high. There’s free tea if you’re waiting for take out. We’re glad we found this place and will be returning!

The owners are very welcoming. The food is tasty(no MSG). The wait staff is attentive and pleasant and pricing is reasonable(no charge for tea). We love the shrimp in lobster sauce.

Came here on a Sunday night after seeing that A&J lines were out the door. Typical Chinese takeout fare but was filling and good/cheap. We had the homestyle tofu and General Tsos Chicken. The tofu was $ 7.95 and probably 2 – 3 servings for me! General Tsos was not as sweet which I liked(it also didn’t have that artificial orange color).

Just finished eating sweet & sour chicken /my boyfriend had the Kung Pao(I think I’m Chinese it’s Gong Bao) chicken. Both were really good! I had so much sweet & sour chicken, the container didn’t close — which means it didn’t get soggy. we will be ordering again soon!

Staff is so nice and appreciative of your patronage. The Crispy Ginger Beef & Steamed Meat Dumplings are perfection! The only thing I’ve had that I don’t really care for(and usually love) are the fried wontons. The meat is good but the wrapper is too thick and there is too much of it.

My experience started out a little rough because Unilocal didn’t list a menu or a website. I called on my way home from work to place a pick up order(my normal go to delivery place was closed). I thought I’d guess my order and that didn’t work. Good news though, turns out they do have an online menu which I found via Google. I ordered crab rangoon. It actually tasted like crab! The best I’ve had in years. I also ordered Taiwanese noodles with shrimp. There were A LOT of shrimp in the order. Very tasty too. And, a nice portion of slightly(perfectly) crispy vegetables. I’ll definitely get this dish if I order here again. I did pick up for my order. I’m glad I did because they have a tank with turtles as you walk in. So cute. The lady at the register was really friendly too. Overall, a swell experience; they’ll likely be my new go to delivery place.

Favorite for Years! Always fresh and never greasy or overcooked. Nice place for group gatherings. Never disappoints with many menu choices. Best kept secret in Annandale :-). Delivery amazingly fast!

Szechuan Star is definitely my go-to Chinese place when I’m in Annandale these days. I’ve been eating at this place since I was a kid. I love their Singapore noodles especially, but their Triple Delight Soup is also awesome. Their delivery is always prompt and, unlike a lot of other places, they’ve never messed up an order. Bonus points for including free spring rolls if you order enough food without having to remind them!

Came here on a recommendation from my boss. Located in the Bradlick Shopping Center, this place is not hidden. I decided to stop in, order, and wait for my takeout. The older lady that greeted me as I walked in(and took my order) was very nice. I decided on the crab rangoons, egg roll w/beef, wonton soup, and chicken fried rice. This is my test for new Chinese places. And Szechuan Star passed w/flying colors. My food was our w/in 15 mins and I was on my way to deliciousness. The egg roll was not too greasy, and not too full of cabbage, which is always my major gripe. The rangoons were a nice balance of cheese and crab. Not sure whether it was crab or krab, but it was there and it tasted good. The wonton soup was my winner of the meal w/4 large pork filled won tons… so warming, tender and good. The rice was really good as well. Not too much egg, and tender chicken. The lady didn’t even wince at me when I asked for the house mustard to take home, and real hot mustard always adds to my Chinese food experience. I’m sad I live 20 mins(traffic sucks) away from this now. But if YOU live nearby, give them a shot.

Great lunch menu. Fair prices include soup, roll, and hot tea. No up charge for fried rice either. Dinner is even better! So much food that you can split it and get out for less than $ 14
