YSL Hapmudo Studios

This was our second martial arts studio, having tried a Tae Kwon Do studio in Falls Church.
My daughter has been going for 4 years now and is on her way to a Black Belt. While we have not been as aggressive as some families in getting her to class as often as possible (you can reasonably make 4 classes a week if you want), we have been able to support her steady progression while doing a full range of activities outside of Hapmudo.
As a parent I trust the instructors and appreciate the life lessons that Master Lee passes on to the kids. Often, the simple things just need to be repeated by someone other than their parents to stick.
My daughter loves the classes, is thrilled to attend whenever we can, and is planning on studying at the studio for as long as she lives in the area (4 years until she goes to college, then who knows…).
Also, compared to the other studio, the fees are a little lower and there is less nickle-​and-​diming over the extra stuff.

My son has been going here for three years and he loves it more and more. Master Lee and Mrs Raeder are wonderful people and take the time to get to know my son. Every time you walk in you feel as if you are home. They teach more than martial arts they teach how to be a outstanding person. In addition to Martial Arts they have different events year round for the family to attend: Easter Egg Hunts, Christmas Dessert Party, Halloween Party. My son ask to be signed up for their camps during the summer because he has so much fun. I would highly recommend YSL Hapmudo Studios to everyone.

Master Michael Lee and wife Ms. Vicky Raeder make this Yong Sung Lee Hapmudo studio the absolute BEST! This mixed martial arts program (and associated after school program) are family friendly – much care and individual attention to every valued student. In this studio, emphasis is on the whole person: manners and courtesy, respect, academics, fitness, form, and being the best person and martial artist possible. With over four years at this studio, our family can say with certainty that there is no better place to learn martial arts and be part of a bigger family/​community.
