We’ve been to this coffeehouse several times, managed to get there for dinner this time. The soup and entrees were excellent and the service was very good. Attentive but not hovering. Friendly and professional. We’ve enjoyed the live music and the atmosphere in general. Will definitely be back!

My favorite spot for a quiet lunch. Their salads(BLT and coronation chicken) are great. I like the veggie pita and chicken sandwiches even better. And if it’s cold outside and I’m not worried about calories, their kimchi mac and cheese is awesome. High quality coffee, cocktails, and decent wine selections. Definitely 1 added star for reasonable prices. A downtown gem.

We had breakfast on Friday at 49th. I ordered the croissant egg sandwich and the wife ordered a crab quiche. My sandwich was passable but even with bacon it seemed to be missing something. Perhaps the eggs didn’t have enough salt(hard to believe as the bacon should have provided plenty of salt to the dish). The quiche was good but they smothered the top in cheese which overwhelmed the delicate crab meat. The latte was disappointing. The shot seemed properly pulled and was not bitter or over roasted in flavor but the milk was off and ultimately not right. I should have sent it back but was in a bit of a hurry so drank it anyways.

Love this place. Always try to get window seat! Great for people watching. The mocha is my favorite drink to get and the breakfast sandwiches are good! Super cozy!

The small, cozy, quintessential neighborhood coffeehouse. Live acoustics, Rise Up coffee roasters coffee, and healthy eating options? This is a must for any coffee lover. Outdoor seating available out front and back, but very limited.

Nice ambiance. Slow service. Ordered the homemade granola parfait-hardly any granola.

Went for lunch with a friend on a Tuesday. Only one waitress for the entire restaurant. She said most people stayed 4 hours so there was no rush. I ordered hot chocolate. After about 10 min she came to the table and said they were looking for the chocolate. After another 10 min the hot chocolate arrived. We ordered lunch and were warned the crab & shrimp melt would take at least 15 min and it did and more. Food is ordinary. Restroom is clean. Waitress is polite. Would not go back. Nothing special and very slow. Parking in Annapolis is almost impossible.

First of all, for an intimate«music house», it has a nice ambience. I went on a Sunday afternoon when it was very obvious that the band was practicing. It was sort of awful. As far as the food is concerned, I would give it a 5 on a scale of 1 – 10. When I came before to see my favorite local band, Kings of Crownsville, I got a simple cheese platter. It was so bad that we left it without eating 3 bites. Stayed for the band though! Today I had the crab quiche. I would hardly call this a quiche as it was covered in cheese and entirely too heavy. I peeled off the cheese topping and it was still too much. The spinach salad was just ok.

High quality food, excellent service, easy on the $$ and all in one place? Absolutely. Throw in some high quality espresso drink options and some live music and a nice window seat and you wind up with a breakfast or brunch to remember. Menu wise, seriously, try the quiche and split a side of grilled potatoes with your other half or friend, the portions are generous. Enjoy the pics! (street parking but there is a lot of it),

Visited for brunch with my husband during our weekend in Annapolis for our first wedding anniversary. We were allowed to pick our seat, and walked out back to a quiet, shaded table. We both ordered a Café Mocha, which is close to the best I’ve had. It was served in a large glass mug, which I was pleasantly surprised with. Both of us enjoyed our entrees — crossaint sandwich, eggs espresso and Belgian waffles. The eggs were light and fluffy, perfectly cooked for my taste. We had a Living Social voucher, which helped with the price. If we are back in Annapolis in the near future, I would definitely return to this spot!

I liked this place. The interior décor and set up had an artsy feel, and helped with the casual atmo I ordered the tuna melt, not feeling too hungry for much more. It was not the best I’ve had. The tuna was quite bland, frankly. I got a latte at the end. This was great. Served in a glass cup, with a nice consistent look and flavor.

Wine and Coffee. Two of my favorite beverages and 49 West has got both down pat. This cozy little café is great for a quick spot to grab lunch and then transitions perfectly into an intimate date night dinner location. They serve Ceremony coffee — a local roastery that has won awards for some of the best coffee in the WORLD! And they can make a killer latte. If you have any questions or need a recommendation for some espresso or a good wine, the staff is very helpful and they know their biznazz. As far as food, I cant comment much as I’ve only had a croissant from the glass case up front(which was still very yummy!) but their menu looks unique and interesting. Aside from food and drink, 49 West offers live music frequently. It is the cherry on the top for a laid back and cozy coffee/wine bar. They also showcase art from locals which is great. Check it out!

Really cute, artsy, casual café in downtown Annapolis. Wandered in here randomly on a Saturday morning for an iced coffee and loved the calm classy feel. They have live music! At first i thought it was the radio, but the barista informed me that there was a live jazz band playing in the back room! They apparently go to practice there on the weekends. There was also a guitarist/singer setting up in the front room to play later. All the food I saw looked really good, but I only had an iced mocha(which was very good — Didn’t need any additional sweetener).

Neat place with a very chill vibe. Went here because they had a groupon deal and the reviews seemed decent. Ordered the crab cake and salmon and hummus. Came out to be $ 59.25. The crab cake was delicious very little stuffing. The salmon was a bit bland for my preference. Both plates came with steamed asparagus and rice mixed with corn. As for the hummus it was just hummus. Nothing extradionary about it. I liked how the dishes were simple but what I didnt like were the prices. Overall I would recommend this place as a place for a bite when visiting the Annapolis downtown area.

Love this place! The food is always great, service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is cozy. Today was one of many visits, but my first time for lunch, and the experience was just as great as when I’ve been in for dinner or brunch. Our server was friendly, attentive, and even chased us down outside when I accidentally forgot my parking garage ticket on the table. If you’re in Annapolis and want a fun, classy place to grab a bite and enjoy some local artists, this is your place!

One of the best breakfast spots I’ve enjoyed in Annapolis. Very friendly service. Artsy atmosphere. Wonderful location and the food was delectable. My only complaint was that the Belgian waffles looked like I could have stayed home and made them and the turkey bacon was nothing special. So much so that I didn’t even snap a pic.(But that was my husbands issue=}.) My selection of quiche, fresh fruit, toasted Rosemary potatoes and café ‘olé was mouthwateringly delish! Can’t wait to go back in the springtime since its a skip away from the harbour.

I toyed with putting 3 or 4 stars. Could go either way. I can’t speak to dinner but we had a nice breakfast there on Sunday. The bacon and cheddar quiche was tasty. The pain au chocolat wasn’t what I was expecting but still tasty. The chocolat part tasted the same as in a traditional one but the pastry was different, puffier, lighter and flakier. I was surprised when I went to the back that the place was bigger than I realized. There was a whole other back room. There was also tables outside in the back in a little secluded area.(Not appealing since it was winter but should be nice ¾ of the year.) The atmosphere is artsy and casual. There was a guitarist playing while we ate. There is the work of local artists on the walls. Paintings and photographs depending on the artist. From looking at the website, it is a coffeehouse not only in terms of food and drink but there are an impressive list of artists who perform there.

A groupon is why I chose to eat here and it was a stone’s throw from our hotel. That said, $ 3.50 for a cup of coffee is too high. However, the crab quiche with side of celery root slaw was very tasty. While the food was good, I don’t think I would return here without a groupon as it was too expensive. Did enjoy the atmosphere for breakfast though.

The first time I came here I was lured by a Groupon. Usually by the time I get to West Street from Downtown I’m full of yummy goodness that I have no room for food or coffee. But this time we came out just to check this place out. I am so glad we did! They have such a Friendly wait staff, very welcoming almost as if we were all regulars there. The food is also good. However what really makes this place cool(in my opinion) is the small town coffee house feel. They have plenty of places for you to eat or just drink coffee inside and outside. The seating outside in back from the main entrance makes me feel like I’m in some European Coffee house. The local art decorating the place also helps make it feel very homey. Unlike most coffee shops, this place also has alcoholic drinks on the menu. Haven’t tried any of those, but maybe next time we’ll check it out, If I need a coffee house to shill and do homework this would definitely be the place!

49 West is a nice place to go and relax. The versatile function of the place makes it an easy option for breakfast, lunch, coffee, dinner, and drinks. The lunch sandwich option comes with a side salad and usually can fill you up for just over $ 10, with table service. It’s also a good alternative to chain cafes to chill, study, or catch up with a friend. It’s a gallery, event venue, wine bar, and café. I can dig it! Especially since it’s provided a reliable haven during lunchtime for my personal study sessions. I would skip here for Restaurant Week, though. The lunch deal is about $ 16 and one option gets you(at least this season) a sandwich that comes with a side salad(the norm) and a coffee o tea. Granted, the sandwiches are«specials» they don’t usually have on the menu, but I had the turkey rueben, which was something I definitely had had on a regular day for the same price(about $ 10). Now, getting Restaurant Week lunch is like paying extra $ 6 for a coffee. My waitress informed me that these sandwiches(turkey rueben, crab melt, and maybe something else) would only be available at the end of the week, but how do you explain the one I’d had a couple of weeks ago? 49 West is what it is. It’s versatile. The back room is surprisingly spacious and I didn’t discover it earlier. I’ll probably continue to frequent here as long as I work in town for some alone time to do work.
