The Annapolis Rock hiking trail is a delightful 4.4 mile round trip hike. There are some incredible views at the summit of the Annapolis Rock trail. It’s moderately steep in some areas, and unless it’s a dry day, I’d recommend hiking shoes. I was slipping all over in my cross-trainers after a newly fallen snow. The trail is very well-marked, with tree markings and wooden signs to point you in the right direction. I took this trail alone and felt completely safe. Also saw a few other solo hikers on my trek. The full hike is 8.4 miles up to Black Rock Cliff and also results in some amazing westward views. Parking for the Annapolis Rock/Black Rock Cliff trail is right on the side of the road, off US-40/Old National Pike. You’ll see a blue-painted trail sign at the top of the parking lot.
