I really am not a B&B person. I usually find them too small, too old and dirty, and too uncomfortable. The Ark & Dove made me re-think that position. It was hugh — 3 floors of beautifully decorated rooms with a deck and outdoor patio, immaculately clean rooms, comfortable beds, a Viking range and a side-by-side refrigerator in the kitchen, a flat screen TV, air-conditioning, and remodeled bathrooms. There are framed sketches of the Ark and the Dove, the ships that are the namesake of the B&B, on the 3rd floor. I slept on the 3rd floor in the canopy bed and it was wonderful! The only downside(literally as well as figurtively, was the 13 + 16 stairs to get up and down there, but it was worth it. The location cannot be beat, about half a block from downtown. And you don’t need keyes to get in /out– it’s a combination. The hosts, Sandy & Sue, are delightful. Parking is on the street, and they provide tags. It was a gret experience — I didn’t want to leave!
