Everything was great — service was good, the strawberry sail martini was DELICIOUS. The food was really good too. We had the cheesesteak sandwich, flatbread pizza and mussels. Pretty restaurant with outdoor seating. My only complaint was that it was realllyyyyy pricey! A $ 50+ bill for a cheesesteak and 2 cocktails will hold me back from returning unless it’s during happy hours/specials.

Bad timing or maybe horrible staffing? Either way I walked in today around 11:45 am wanting a beer(yes it’s Friday but I’m from Cali and we can do what we want to do while on vacation). I approached the hostess and she politely informs me that the bartender is not on duty yet so I can’t be served a beer. So I asked myself 2 stupid questions: Self… Isn’t the word«TAPROOM» in the name that hangs above the door? Aren’t they serving food right now? …There was no response so walked out. I can’t comment on anything else but that makes no sense to me. Maybe it’s a law or local policy that us west coast guys probably will never encounter because we abolished the dumb law 100 years ago.

We’ve eaten here five or six times and have always had good meals and service. The mussels are particularly tasty and half price on Mondays. Baroak has a great beer selection and some good wines by a glass. It’s a great place for a casual dinner or to catch a game.

Nice breakfast after overnight stay but the 5 stars are for Jerry our server… the kindest most professional person and the hotel/restaurant is lucky to have him on staff! Hats off to you Jerry!

I had the Steak Caesar & iced tea. The steak was well prepared as I had requested rare & it came out rare. The dressing was creamy & tangy like a good Caesar should be. YUM! I’d recommend this place for happy hour & later in the night as well. Why? Because after some long meetings in the hotel we stopped by after 9 p.m. every night for snacks & drinks & it was a fun atmosphere. My only wish is that they had more staff serving the tables. Other than that it was fun, clean & good atmosphere.

Goodness this place needs help. We had dinner the night of a local magic show on the property. While we had the plans weeks ahead, it was obvious by the crowd, that it was a surprise to the restaurant. We sat at the bar and one of the waitresses was nearly in tears. When the staff tell the bartender they are«in the weeds» you know they are way under staffed. We got our dinner after a long wait. Our friends a party of 8, who ordered before us, never saw a plate of food. The man in the suit, manager, was horrible to them when they complained. He was indignant and argumentative, really? To sit for nearly two hours and not get a meal, somebody has some explaining. They paid for their drinks and left a nice tip feeling sorry for the server. Out food was ok, the burger went back for some more oven-love as it was delivered rare and not medium. Bar staff was lovely but two was way not enough.

OK been there, done that and like it! Have been there for HH and it is solid. Spent 4th of July on the patio watching the parade and eating a casual(burgers and grilled cheese) dinner and solid. Did a MNF event there and it was great. Attended a gathering and the apps were on-point. Have had three date night dinners and all have been very good. Usually not a wait. It can get loud if there is a crowd – hello Navy Football I’m talking to you. Beer selection is good if you like Belgian beer. Staff was a little slow to get up to speed on the beers(1st time was served a wine cooler and the server insisted it was a beer), but they are OK now. Caution, if they push the Trippel deGarre on you — consider this fair warning. It was something like a 12% ABV so it will knock you on your ass!

We went to Loews for New Year’s Eve and booked both absolutely free evening buffet and the New Year’s Day brunch. Both meals exceeded our expectations the food was prepared as if they were serving you individually and replenished throughout both the evening and the brunch the next morning. Jason, the manager, runs a tight ship as anyone would expect from a retired Marine. We will be back.

We went for breakfast on Sunday to Bar Oak, which is connected to the Loews hotel. I loved the interior design, which, like the lobby it was connected to, also took on a seaside décor. I had the«Cure,» an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on a brioche bun, while Emily had the«Healthy Start.» We thought the food and the service was great. I also thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and the hotel setting. I would definitely go back for another meal here.

The food was fine im writing more about the service, in particular how unprofessional the GM was. For one she was awefully sweaty, should really manage her apperence. I ordered eggs benedict, they came out a little cold to my liking. I sent them back, no problem. The GM came over and gave us the typical apoligy speech which felt very forced. When i asked her how long it would be she was shott with me. She seems like she really hates her job. When the eggs came back everything was ok, would recommend for food 0 for service especially the GM.

Had dinner here since I was attending a conference at Loews Hotel. Really didn’t expect it to be as good as as it was. I got the lobster roll & the roasted Brussel sprouts. Absolutely delicious! Our waiter Jordan made some suggestions for a pale Belgian Ale that complimented my meal perfectly. He was also very attentive. My husband had the steak sandwich. It was more likely a perfectly cooked brisket. The frites(fries) are amazing! Definitely hand cut. My husband also had eggs Benedict here almost very morning. The hollandaise sauce was creamy & delightful! Served with arugula & sautéed peppers & onions! What a great pairing! Oh btw they have a good happy hour with $ 5 wings. Wings are a little sweet & smoky, but very tasty. Next time in Annapolis I will definitely eat here!

Fantastic executive lunch for $ 15 inclusive of drink and tip with the guarantee you’ll be able to eat and go in an hour. I had the steak sandwich which was actually more like a brisket with a divine cheesy-beery sauce. The space was very nice too. Very polished and professional looking but also airy and uncluttered. I plan to make more lunch appointments here.

Pretty disappointing overall — overpriced with poor bar service. As we were hotel guests, we came here for breakfast and drinks one time over a four day stay. The eggs Benedict had barely any Canadian bacon and eggs were uncooked; also came with home frites aka last night’s French fries. My husband ordered«The Cure» sandwich, which was OK. Returned for drinks, since they gave us coupon upon checking into the hotel — we waited close to 10 minutes to be approached by either two bartenders and needed to ask for a menu, mind you there was only one other couple at the bar. The wings were actually good, which we were pleasantly surprised with, however the margharita flatbread was pretty boring and looked/tasted like it had raw tomatoes and lacked any basil or seasoning. I will say the waiter(Jerry) and waitress(Jessie) were quite pleasant, which is one of the redeeming qualities. Additionally, the outdoor space is quite nice if you are able to sit away from the street side.

We really want to like this place so we gave it another try after they’ve had several months to get settled in. Again we left disappointed in the possibilities this place could be. It was a Sunday evening, Father’s Day, and the place was about 40% occupied. We were just grabbing a couple of beers and a bite to eat. We had the Bleu Mussels which were amazing! Those alone would earn them five stars. The Frites were fine, but the dipping sauces are still are lack luster at best. We had the horseradish & chipotle, both lacked any«kick.» As I mentioned we sat at the bar, it was just us and one other couple. The bartender either didn’t care or was just having the worst night of his career but a gentleman ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and got a grilled chicken salad the female half of the couple ordered mussels, and that part was right but it wasn’t the style she had ordered. I get everyone makes mistakes but when you’re screwing up 50% of the orders I question your dedication to the job. We also observed another table that had ordered a flatbread pizza and they brought it up to the bar to complain about the quality … It looked like it had been burned beyond recognition. I question the kitchen that sent it out that way and the server that actually took it to the table. I haven’t seen pizza looking that bad at 7-Eleven. I just can’t see paying premium dollar for sub-quality product and service. There are too many other choices in Annapolis that get it right, consistently.

So I want to give them 3 stars but it’s always hard to weigh the service and food equally. We went on memorial day and sat outside. The server didn’t greet us for a long time and kept walking past saying«ill be right with you» — over, and over again. Finally, after 20 minutes(not sure why we waited that long!) I went inside and said to one of the waiters«is anyone supposed to be serving us?» to which he turned white and 1 minute later was serving us and bending over backwards to take care of us. The conundrum that we had when we first got there was remedied so that helped this review up to four stars. As for the food, we had the bottomless mimosa bar. IT was awesome! They have tons of different juice types to choose from(mango, pear, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, strawberry and more!) The food was great too. I had«the cure» which was a breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, avocado. It was quite delicious and I loved their home frites. Once someone took our order the food came out pretty quickly so no complaints there. I would recommend and would definitely go again for the 10 $ bottomless mimosas!

Went in for a late lunch with the Mrs. We ordered the frite basket for an appetizer. We did not know we’d get more frites with the meal. Dipping sauces were very good. We had beer mustard and aolie flavored mayo dips. We ordered a glass of wine and a beer with lunch. Beer was clearly marked and affordable at $ 7 for a draft Vienna Lager. Wife had a Cabernet. No wine price was mentioned. Wife had the grilled cheese with bacon and jalapeño that was spot on I had the salad wedge, which was perfect. Wife had a second glass of wine as we sat and chatted. We were in no rush and there was no pressure to turn over our table. Not crowded though. Wait staff was courteous and efficient. No concerns there at all. Was shocked when I learned the two glasses of Cabernet cost me $ 24. I asked about it and our waiter told us there are no house wines. I was surprised it was that expensive! So aside from that wine shock on the bill, our visit was very nice. Ask the price before you order wine. Food was 4 star Wine price was 2 star Average 3 star overall

The great — BEER! Seriously the beer menu is fantastic. Love the Tripel de Garre on tap. The Good — the location. Conviently located on west st and I like the ample outdoor seating. Not a huge fan of the long picnic tables, they’re awkward and not comfortable. Fire pit is beautiful though. The Ok — food. Mostly Eh. I’ve had the frites which were basic, nothing special. The Kale Salad which was good except the portion size, it was tiny! The mussels were ok. Seems overpriced pub fare and very small portions. The staff can be hit or miss. Sometimes very friendly and warm, sometimes distracted and aloof.

After walking around Annapolis with a friend, we were in the mood for a small bite to eat. She suggested recently opened BAROAK inside the Loews Hotel. I had read some pretty good reviews on Unilocal and my friend and I were excited to visit. BAROAK is Belgian inspired, so we knew we had to start with the Frites Basket. With the frites basket, you get to choose two dipping sauces, my friend and I settled on chipotle mayonnaise and chili-garlic vinegar. Both sauces were great independently, but even better when mixed together. We loved the frites. For my friends meal, she ordered the Bleu Mussles. They came with pork belly, bleu cheese, leeks, spinach, preserved lemon, and white wine. My friend was a little concerned about the addition of bleu cheese with the mussles but the waiter assured her that the flavors combined nicely and my friend was happy she ordered the dish as is. For my dish, I went with the Brisket Tacos. They were three house-made chili lime tortillas stuffed with braised brisket, radish, scallions, and cilantro cream. I didn’t love the tortillas, but the filling was wonderful and packed with flavor. If you find yourself in Annapolis craving some Belgian bites, head over to BAROAK and satisfy your cravings.

One of the places in Annapolis that has just opened up. It’s a mussels/frites/beer menu. Stray from those things and you will be disappointed. My boyfriend came with me and got the crème verde mussels which he thoroughly enjoyed. I, however, had the catch of the day, which was salmon. It had a spice rub that had been blackened that totally over powered the flavor of the fish, which was also over cooked. The redeemer of the dish were the grits and corn/andouille gravy. We also had the frites with both the horseradish and curry mayos. We preferred the curry and respected the fact that the mayos looked like they were made in house. We ordered the croquettes for an app but they were kind of bland. Luckily they were served with a sun dried tomato tapenade that was rich with flavor and awesome. We followed the meal up with the dessert of milk and cookies. The milk was just basic and the cookies looked like they were purchased at the bakery of a grocery store. They definitely weren’t baked fresh and the dessert was a real deal breaker for my boyfriend. Especially since you can go down the street to level and get milk and cookies that come with whipped cream topped milk and 2 huge cookies that are freshly made and divinely gooey on the inside. Go if you just want to try a new place around town but otherwise I would not recommend it unless a craving for mussels suddenly comes on.

This little quaint place is inside the Lowe’s hotel just off the side of the lobby. The kitchen is small and open to the restaurant which is filled with all windows and a lovely long bar along the wall. The bar serves wonderfully during breakfast and I imagine is fantastic in the evening surrounded by TVs. We went for breakfast with the whole family. As expected, wonderful service, but I expect that on the day a restaurant is opening. They were completely accommodating to my children, cups, side dishes, temperaments. My son had pancakes while the other had a yogurt parfait(which I also enjoyed). The parfait was lime greek yogurt topped with homemade granola an fresh fruit. The spoon they gave us was way too big for the cup, I think it would be easier if it was in a bowl, but it was pretty in the cup — just not practical. I had to dig for that yogurt. The pancakes were a mix between cake and breakfast and were fantastic. The bacon was cooked perfectly and my side of eggs(expensive) was plentiful. My husband had a brisket hash breakfast that came with an egg on top, and it was exceptionally seasoned. The atmosphere was open and casual. I think we will go back and try dinner sometime and the beers they boast.
